Worst CVS ever. They mess up most of my prescriptions, never pick up their phones and are generally clueless.

Here I sit, 3402 N Central, in the Pharmacy aisle of my local WAG (WAG is Walgreen's Stock symbol…read more ) waiting for new prescriptions for family. Since November, 2025, I've vacationed here a lot on Isle 16. I discovered my family member's account was data entangled with Petey the Cat, deceased dor a dozen years. Cat health and human health overlap in some prescriptions. It is about 2:30 on Saturday. Six people wait in line, I occupy a chair by the vaccination desk of my local WAG. Waiting for prescriptions called in 8 pm last night, sitting in the system since this morning, sitting in the system with one prescription tech filling orders, sitting in the system through lunch break, sitting in the system, I suppose until I appeared. I have met interesting people here since November. A new pharmacy tech, concerned about the complexities of her job. I told her about the time I had to memorize miles of ship's piping, thought I broke a pumpbfeeding the "valve nest" and got jokingly threatened with Leavenworth Prison. Don't worry kid, you'll learn. I met a grayed couple, so in love, so in friend, so helpful to eachother I was impressed. And of course, Energy Child, patiently herded by Mom as he. used the lane dividing walls for a personal gym. Super bright, super active. Great human potential. The complainers. curmudgeons and cranks stop by, floating a giant cartoon question mark over my head. Here's one now, expecting instant service, over from some valley city, in for work, feeling poorly. We all need moments of patience, smiles and geniality carry us far in life. I know, "Complainer" was once my middle name. Prescription drive up, one cashier, one tech. Busy. Plus a pharmacist for coaching. Everyone was so helpful and nice, I really appreciate it. Thank you. There's a decent grocery supply in the coolers, candy in yhe Valentine's aisle, pain relievers and tootpaste, makeup, Tide locked behind 21st century plexiglass doors. A lot in the local WAG.

Did you know 2,500 small, independant pharmcies closed forever in 2025? Pharmacy Benefit Managers…read more(PBM's) are not paying. They stand between customers, pharmacies, and medical insurance companies. A CVS or Walgreens has lots more leverage than, let us say the former Fairmont Pharmacy at Central Ave and Camelback Road. They were not getting paid by PBM's. Speaking of CVS, in 2025, my health insurance informed me my usual medications were required through CVS mail services. I now get my monthlies from a robot pharmacy near Chicago. Sweet D has been talking about visiting Melrose since Fairmomt closed. Being a stubborn guy, we never came in until April, 2026. I always need Cal Mag Zinc, Potassium, various stop the runny nose, etc. supplements. Plus a cool gift now and then. Melrose has all these, plus any out of the ordinary meds I may need. And...Our familiar faces from Fairmont found a new home. This is outstanding. I do not want thousands of small, independant, cool local pharmacies, family businesses, to be crushed by unbridled capitalism. Capitalism needs a bridle, starting with taxing obscene profits, like the $30,000,000 A MINUTE! being made by Immense Oil as the Strait of Hormuz is shut down and our President keeps his campaigning promise to deliver $100,000,000,000 if The Industry supported his re-election with $1,000,000,000. Oops, that wasn't about a tiny pharmacy was it? Or even Giant Pharma. It was more about Mega Biz relentlessly crushing everything that does not grow a bottom line. Shop Local! Shop Small!

While I never get the promised call to let me know that my prescription is ready, they are usually quick and efficient. I have actually had all of my regular (non-compound) prescriptions transferred from one of the big box pharmacies. While they don't have the ability to order online like the competitors, they are a small business that I feel good supporting. The staff is friendly and professional.

I don't get my scripts filled here so I can't speak about the Pharmacy's efficiency or lack of. I also haven't had any photos printed here in quite some time, so can't speak to that amenity either. That's why only four stars. After reading some of the other reviews, I am adding: this Walgreens is in the heart of the city, so yeah they have a massive problem with theft/shop lifting. Consequently, their security guards are primed to watch people. I hope they're not profiling but I can't vouch for that. This isn't a Walgreens in a quiet little neighborhood so don't expect it to be. ALSO: I've never used the bathroom here & can't imagine it would be the most pleasant experience (someone specifically commented on that). Everyone knows if you gotta go, go across the street to the FedEx! Or the McDonalds on 7th Ave or literally any other restaurant or business.

Store manager said they couldn't issue a refund because the confirmation email didn't have a barcode -- but that's on Walgreens' system, seemed like the store-manager made a judgment call to destroy my photos and not refund me for them, I checked its not a system-enforced policy that's eating into "passport photo services". So we pull up, and the kid is eating cookies while talking to me.. really!??? Didn't say Hello or anything, no customer service what so ever! Please DO NOT talk to me with food in your mouth, it's rude and unacceptable! When he speaks to you, it's very demeaning and is speaking to you as if YOU'RE wasting HIS time, I say this because I've other encounters with Carlos in the past and it wasn't a one off! Ok.. oh wait, there's more. So we get our meds from Mr. No people skills and ask for a consult. Again, we're not asking for you to repaint the Sistine Chapel, Just a simple consult. My kid had a blood clot, was on blood thinners and now has kidney stones, I would like to know what gabapentin is going to do to my kid. The pharmacist an older gentleman (wearing glasses) comes to the window and says is this for you? I said no my kid. He takes the meds and rips the paper off that has the instructions on, and said just read line two and points to it! I said no sir, I'm asking you!! The pharmacist, not the paper. Again he tells me to read line two. So I said that is unacceptable and I drove away. I drove away so I wouldn't lose my composure. About 15 mins later, I get a call from the pharmacist (the guy in older guy in glasses, I know it's him because of his thick accent) not to apologize for his actions or lack of bed side manners. Instead he apologized because he's busy and there were so many people the pharmacy! side note: I could see inside the pharmacy from the drive through and there was only 1 person at the pharmacy desk, while all other staff were standing around laughing and having a grand ol' time eating cookies. In short, the pharmacist did not take responsibility or admit to not fully supporting me or addressing my concerns, just made excuses. So Mr. Pharmacists, thank you for not taking responsibility for your lack of support or concern, and thank you for making excuses, I will be taking my business elsewhere, somewhere will staff and pharmacists understand the value of customer/ patient concerns and needs!!!
