Here I sit, 3402 N Central, in the Pharmacy aisle of my local WAG (WAG is Walgreen's Stock symbol. ) waiting for new prescriptions for family. Since November, 2025, I've vacationed here a lot on Isle 16. I discovered my family member's account was data entangled with Petey the Cat, deceased dor a dozen years. Cat health and human health overlap in some prescriptions. It is about 2:30 on Saturday. Six people wait in line, I occupy a chair by the vaccination desk of my local WAG. Waiting for prescriptions called in 8 pm last night, sitting in the system since this morning, sitting in the system with one prescription tech filling orders, sitting in the system through lunch break, sitting in the system, I suppose until I appeared. I have met interesting people here since November. A new pharmacy tech, concerned about the complexities of her job. I told her about the time I had to memorize miles of ship's piping, thought I broke a pumpbfeeding the "valve nest" and got jokingly threatened with Leavenworth Prison. Don't worry kid, you'll learn. I met a grayed couple, so in love, so in friend, so helpful to eachother I was impressed. And of course, Energy Child, patiently herded by Mom as he. used the lane dividing walls for a personal gym. Super bright, super active. Great human potential. The complainers. curmudgeons and cranks stop by, floating a giant cartoon question mark over my head. Here's one now, expecting instant service, over from some valley city, in for work, feeling poorly. We all need moments of patience, smiles and geniality carry us far in life. I know, "Complainer" was once my middle name. Prescription drive up, one cashier, one tech. Busy. Plus a pharmacist for coaching. Everyone was so helpful and nice, I really appreciate it. Thank you. There's a decent grocery supply in the coolers, candy in yhe Valentine's aisle, pain relievers and tootpaste, makeup, Tide locked behind 21st century plexiglass doors. Walgreens is the absolute worst pharmacy. If you are using them you are putting your life in danger. Recently got a partial fill of a heart medication. Got fed up with the lousy service and switched to an independent pharmacy. I was told by Walgreens pharmacy they had sent the rest of the refill to my new pharmacy but this was a lie,the new pharmacy did not receive it. The worst! Terrible customer service. They are incapable of filling prescriptions in a timely manner. They are always out of my asthma medication which I need to breathe. I have tried contacting them twice by phone and was on hold for 45 minutes each time. I will be visiting them later in the day. Arghhhh! Update-I went to the store, waited in line and was told they didn't know when they would have it and go to urgent care! CRAZY! This prescription is to automatically be refilled every 3 months so what is the problem! After I get this solved I will switch to Marc Cuban' s drug program-a fraction of the price and I am sure better service! read more

I had to switch my prescription from here because regularly I would put in for a refill and it would just sit in the system without action. One time I went to pick it up when the app said it was ready, and they had not processed it (after several days). It is also a hassle because they don't clear out canceled requests. There is usually a long wait at the drive up pharmacy window, too, but going inside means dodging several people outside asking for food or money or cigarettes. It is just not worth it going here, even if they were to actually refill when they are asked to. read more

3402 N Central Walgreens Pharmacy Review: The pharmacy is so bad, worse; it's a nightmare! If I wasn't so frustrated and dependent on this doodoo excuse of a pharmacy, it would be comical how consistently terrible the customer service is, topped with how difficult it is to figure out what is going on with a prescription. And the phone lines!! If there was an award for wait times, this place would take gold every year! For months I have not been able to get through to speak to a human. When I have driven to the pharmacy, it's rare to get a person who is not in a bad mood or who can give me a correct answer. I tell them I can't get through on the phones and they don't attempt to apologize. If a Rx isn't ready, they say they are busy. That is their excuse all the time and I am so friggin sick of hearing this lame excuse!! It's been the same dumb song and dance for nearly a decade & they are not trying to do any better. As a customer what am I supposed to do, say I'm sorry that you're so busy and that you're making money? Or perhaps I should ask why are you in such a bad mood, don't you have a job? If anyone should be in a bad mood, it should be me!! Especially when the extra grouchy individuals give the wrong answers and with the most grandiose conviction! Academy awards to all these fine young people for working so hard that picking up the phone is absolutely impossible. Funny that excuse that they're too busy to answer the phone and SOOOO busy that I have to waste my time driving there and back to get a big fat NO-"we can't fill your prescription until tomorrow," yet there's no one in line at the drive through??? That's not busy enough to not answer the phones you stupid excuses for workers!! How am I supposed to know when to pick up my "in progress" prescriptions that have been that way all day??? They sure do value their time and energy; far more than mine or my gas mileage. The power dynamic at this place is second to the Gestapo. I catch myself questioning my sanity! Seriously though, no one seems to be on the same page and it's frustrating; in addition to the call volume and wait times. The app is never accurate and it is ridiculous that I have to drive there to ask a question. Prescriptions are "in progress" for days. I never know when they will be ready for pickup. To feel like you are at the mercy of such a train wreck is panic attack inducing. I have to take an anti anxiety pill in preparation for the attempt to fill the anti anxiety medication!! It's enough to make your head explode but then you'd need to rely on this nut house to fill a prescription. Using this pharmacy feels slightly abusive. I've tried other locations but their problems are systemic. Walgreens pharmacy is a mess on the whole. They are always asking for feedback and I've generously given plenty of feedback over the years. Nothing seems to help and it anything, it's actually getting worse! So I'm writing this review as a way of getting my frustration out and to help others who may be struggling with similar issues with this particular Walgreens location. There's something comforting about seeing a familiar struggle. The folks over at the Walgreens pharmacy try to convince the customer they are doing their best and that we should trust them to manage our health and our prescriptions. However, the truth is, they have a very long track record proving they can't keep up with the amount of business they generously receive from all the insurance companies who deem them "preferred." I think Walgreens pharmacy overall has come to expect the generous amount of business it receives will just always be there so they don't give anywhere close to a good customer service experience. The employees don't seem to want to be at work or talking to customers. We suffer through this for now but the world is changing at a rapid pace and very soon, there's going to be a breaking point via AI or as a result of the fairly recent Walgreens pharmacy acquisition. I'm hoping that either of these changes...or the very minute possibly that someone important reads this review and decides to do something to change this shameful situation and fix this mess of a service. Please save me from all of this unnecessary frustration and suffering!! Please save me time and energy!! Walgreens pharmacy is supposedly a place of business where in exchange for my money, you provide a service and I am supposed to trust this process will go accordingly with limited effort on my end as I am paying for a service!! Pharmacy usually doesn't answer the phone. Puts you on hold and then after wasting time holding, you are told to leave a message. Today, after calling all day, I finally got through and the pharmacist told me my meds would be ready at 5pm. I wanted to make sure as I'd already visited twice. So I came a THIRD time and they still don't have it. A THIRD WASTED TRIP! And the line for the pharmacy is slow and long! read more

ALWAYS a long wait to pick up prescriptions. Severely understaffed. Pharmacy workers are unfriendly and uncaring. Yesterday I stood in line for 45 minutes. I had to go in because they never shipped the prescription I ordered last week. They had screwed up the prescriptions of three of the people in front of me. One person had to come inside because they gave her someone else's medicine in the drive through. Only one clerk at the counter. Needless to say they screwed up my prescription and said it was cancelled. It wasn't. I demanded to speak to the pharmacist. He was able to fix the problem but said it would be a while before it could be filled. I asked to pick up the second prescription which WAS ready and the pharmacist walked away and said he didn't have register access. The clerk then proceeded to help the next guy in line. I said I was still waiting to get the one that was ready. She said "you're already being helped". I wasn't. Near total incompetency. To top it off, I had traveled to the store on my e-scooter which I locked to the bike rack in front of the store. When i finally got my one prescription I exited the building to find the lock had been cut off and my scooter was gone. This place is dangerous, they have bad service. Avoid if at all possible. Why can't they improve their drive thru? Signs say "BOTH LANES OPENS", yet really only one lane is open, one person in front, sat in line for over 10 minutes - WHY????? I have so many complaints, but this is the most recent headache. Check your insurance and if they still take your insurance at a local pharmacy, use them. If Melrose still took my insurance and if Fairmont never closed, I would still be using their pharmacies. read more

Store was back from lunch and opened 2 minutes after 2:00pm at 2:02. Two minutes late. I was first in line and the rep quoted me a 45 minute walk in wait! How ridiculous is that.. not to mention that there were no other walkins before or after me.. look the other way if you have the option to go to another store.. they always say they are are short handed.. then hire more staff please and operate normally filling prescriptions with 30 minutes of receiving them... it took them 40 minutes to fill my prescription!! This pharmacy has struck out so many times making mistakes with orders and dropping the ball.. I'm surprised they are in business with this kind of customer service. This is my neighborhood Walgreens but every time I come in, there's never anyone around to assist with getting things behind the locked cases. I understand we're in Central Phoenix and the crime rate maybe higher with theft in your store however add people to the staff to assist paying customers. Your pharmacy there is horrible as well. You need to hire more people to assist your customers. I actually avoid purchasing because of these issues and I take my business elsewhere. It's shameful and you really need to fix this. read more

11/27/2024: Waited 45 mins in the Pharmacy Drive-Thru (GAS $$). Of course the car in front of me ate up 30 of those minutes... Finally got my prescriptions in a plastic grocery bag. ALL of my rxes are thru THIS store. I have given them a TON of business for the last 23 years. Their typical method is to put your Credit Card in the bag with your rxes. I went home. I couldn't find my credit card in the bag. I searched my car in the dark with a flashlight AND every pocket and section inside my purse -- no go. Although I have had only 1 phone number for the last 23 years, which is on file with that Walgreens -- no one called ME to say they had my Credit Card... So I called THEM, which means going thru their voicemail hell, getting an uncaring employee who transfers you, then waiting on hold, THEN being sent to their voicemail to leave a message (which based on multiple past experiences with that means no one will check their messages or even acknowledge that your VM was ever left...). I had to call several more times and finally asked for a Manager, who admitted they had my Credit Card, and suggested I return (EXPENSIVE BIDEN GAS), present my ID card and get my Credit Card. So I returned and stood in line inside at the Pharmacy. The disgustingly tattooed and pierced snarky female worker asked my name and gave me my Credit Card (she didn't ask for my ID...). I complained that this never should have happened. She made a mean face and told me it was MY FAULT. I said no, it was their fault for not placing the CC in the bag with my rxes like they have been doing for the last 5+ years. She said I should have taken the bag and then looked around the Drive-Thru drawer for my CC. I repeated that they always put the CC in the bag with the rxes. She said whatevs. Rather than leave the store, I walked to the front and asked to see a Manager. I told her the whole story and she said she would talk to Miss Snark. I asked for $5 to cover all the gasoline and aggravation. She said she could only offer $5 in Rewards, which she did. I asked if that credit could be used for rxes. She said no. I said "Hair Care?", she said yes. I said "Sweet" then left. WHY DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYONE'S JOB FOR THEM NO MATTER WHAT COMPANY OR OFFICE I DEAL WITH? THEY ARE TOO BUSY TEACHING DEI IN SCHOOLS RATHER THAN READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC, APPARENTLY. read more

Absolutely the worst pharmacy experience I have ever had. Tried calling. Was told they were checking to see if the medication was there. Was on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on. Called back. Then, someone said hello and hung up again. Called back. Now, 45 minutes later, everyone was on the lunch break. So went in. Then told to go get additional information and come back (which was the reason I called in the first place). To say they don't care is the understatement of the year. read more

I've been using this ovation for years. Literal years and the customer experience has been completely forgotten about. I'm currently 48 minutes on hold with the pharmacy. They need to staff the place. It's not fair to run the department with one person. Let alone in the midst of cold and flu season. I am being treated for flu, sinus infection and bacterial pneumonia. My prescriptions were sent at 9am. It's nearly 9pm they close at 10pm and still no update from "processing". This is crazy. 104 fever, desperately need meds. read more

I went in, as an elderly person, not too tech savvy, and bought a Bluetooth speaker. I didn't know how to hook it up but fortunately there were 2 wonderful employees working. ERIN & MURPHY. Erin has to be one of the friendliest cashiers ever and Murphy helped me hook up the speaker to my phone. This is a great store with really great employees. It was a nice experience. Pharmacy review ......we visiting Ted the pharmacy today for flu and vivid vaccines. The new process of scanning bar code was a problem for us. The pharmacy manager exceeded all expectations. He saw we were having some difficulty and immediately came out to help us. His manner was so gracious and accommodating . He was also the one who administered our vaccines.... Friendly, efficient and competent. We will be returning to this pharmacy for future needs. read more

WASTE of time! We're headed out of town tomorrow. My normal Walgreens didn't have my refill so I called around. This Walgreens told me at 11:27am they had it and I could pick it up in 30-60 mins. I went to get it at 4pm. They told me it wasn't ready-come back in 30 mins I went home made dinner for the family went back at 7:15pm "We don't have it- it'll be here tomorrow." But I won't. this walgreens has to be the worst pharmacy i've ever dealt with. the customer service is awful, the people working in the pharmacy ask you questions like you're the one that is clocked in behind that counter, and they seem to mess up every single prescription that comes through that place. i've been waiting on a refill for a week now that my pcp sent in, and somehow keeps getting delayed or denied through walgreens, and they seem to act clueless and have no answer to give when i ask if it's ever going to be ready. they also only have a 5 day supply of one of my medications when my pcp sent in a 90 day supply and they somehow don't have the other 85 pills to complete my order even though it has been a week. both medications i NEED mind you that i now can not take because this place is ran by people with monkeys clashing cymbals in their heads instead of brains like god damn. i can not wait for the day that i tell my doctor to switch locations because this place is my own personal 9th circle of hell. anyway, hope these people get their act together so i can have my medications on time that my life depends on. fist bump read more

Waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru. 15 minutes one car was sitting at the window. I would go in and wait in the line inside, but I have COVID. I also placed an online order to pick-up and it took 7 hours to fill two items. On my 2nd trip, after I got home, I find out that they forgot one of the two. I should've known it was going to be screwed up when I walked in and the security guard and 4 employees were all at the windows making fun of a homeless man who bought a bunch of ice cream. When I left, I saw that the drive thru line was 2x as long, backed up all the way to Central Ave, and that homeless man they were making fun of, he walked over to the light rail and was handing out ice cream to the other homeless people (it's 100 degrees out right now). I have had nothing but negative experiences with this location. When the app notifies me to call for whatever reason it may be; prescription error or otherwise, the customer service (in the pharmacy) never, and I mean never, answers the phone. What they do is let it stay on hold until it automatically transfers to their direct phone. Once it starts ringing, they continually pick up the phone and then place it back on hold. They do this over and over again until they get sick of it, then - bam! - they simply hang up on you. It's very irritating to say the least. I'm not even going to get started on the drive thru nonsense. Ridiculous. read more

Do not get COVID tested here! Male at the window was super rude. He had me swab my nose and simply place it on a paper. Nothing was sealed. Then he dropped the swab on the counter and did not let me test again. They advertise 2 hour turn around, but it actually took 25 hours. Go to CVS, where they are professional and courteous. read more

I have been in about ten times in the last four months since moving back to PHX. All ten times the shelves were empty of what I wanted and I could not get a passport photo. Bad service. Do not advertise passport photos if you can not provide one in four months straight. I can see once or twice but 4 months straight? I went to the CVS on 19th Ave and Indian School instead after being told no yet again TODAY. Now mind you it is 118 degree outside and 135 degrees in my car. It was so hot my cell stopped working so I did not want to be driving all over town then have a crappy sweaty bad hair passport photo taken. It's not like you can go just anywhere for over the counter pharmaceuticals, hair brushes, feminine products, a $4 copy of Flashdance (1983) on DVD, and a turkey sandwich; office max and payless shoes certainly don't have this selection. This is a convenient spot in Central Phoenix for picking up those cold and flu-pills, tissues, a bottle of water, filling a prescription (24 hours a day), or visiting their Take Care Clinic. Every so often I need to visit a medical professional to diagnose weather I've got Rhinopharyngitis, Pertussis, or the Avian Influenza. If you're like me, then the take care clinic is the perfect spot for you. Special note, if there's bone sticking out from your leg, you've shot yourself in the forehead with a nailgun, or forgot to properly secure the overhead lighting before stepping out on stage as Ebenezer Scrooge for the opening night of "A Christmas Carol", this is not where you want to end up. Unless you schedule an appointment, getting in before the clinic opens at 8am doesn't really help much, you just end up waiting until 3-5 minutes before 8 so you can get your name in on the computer. If you're not quick about it, then some people who came in after you did might get in before can. I'd aim for about 10 minutes before 8, park yourself at one of their terminals and check every minute past 7:54 am until you get prompted to enter your name. If you're quick, you can get in and out. I heard some days are better than others, and some days have no wait at all. The day I was here, there were about 6 people all wanting to get their name in for an 8am appointment also; I ended up with the much desired #3, I think. Aside from the whole getting your name in to the computer at the beginning of the day problem, the Nurse Practitioner was super friendly, knew her stuff, checked me out, and sent me on my way. Large parking lot - Cons: Typically if you come here late, there's only 1 cashier Long, slow line Prices are steeper here than at CVS You only get the sale price if you have a Walgreens Wellness Card Come here if you are in Central Phoenix and in dire need of snacks, food, water or medicine. The pharmacist at the Walgreens 1525 N. Central Ave. store was quite possibly the rudest pharmacist I have ever encountered. Despite it being ~7:30 am on a Friday (01/22/21), with no other visible customers in the store, no one greeted me at the counter, even though the pharmacist was standing almost directly in front of me. I stood waiting for quite awhile until the pharmacy technician to come over. I had just purchased some OTC medication and it came in one of those tamper-proof packages, so I requested assistance opening the package. It was only at this point that the pharmacist suddenly decided that she could speak to me and demanded to see my receipt. The pharmacy technician was helpful, but the horrible attitude and rudeness of the pharmacist was incredibly off-putting and although I'd had questions about the medication, clearly this pharmacist is not going to be a dependable resource and I did not feel comfortable asking. If she does not have the basic social skills to communicate with a customer, I sincerely doubt her competency with health-related matters. I pick up all of my prescriptions through CVS near where I live in Ahwatukee Foothills. I've never had any pharmacy staff at my local pharmacies act in such a disrespectful, dismissive way. I'm not sure, but it seems like perhaps the neighborhood this particular CVS is in has left the pharmacist with the impression that she can act in this uncouth manner towards pharmacy clients with zero accountability? I will definitely avoid returning to this CVS. When I do happen to be in this neighborhood in the future, there is a Walgreens just east on McDowell and 7th St. I will go to instead. I might also look into changing my prescriptions to Walgreens as well depending on the response I get back from the pharmacy manager. read more

Please please do not use this pharmacy. After my last debacle, I just discovered that they did not run my previous RXs through my insurance. So what should have been a $0 prescription was $30. I know it's not a ton of money, but it's the principle. When I called them out on this, they said they weren't sure why as they have my insurance on file. Their refund process is ridiculous. "A third party will contact you in 10 or so business days." When I said "So because you screwed up, I have to be put out?" Their literal response was "I don't know how to answer that." read more

I went in their the other day to look for some products and asked a worker their named 'Leslie' if they had some latex gloves and she just said no, but I asked another employee their named 'Dylan' the same question and he walked me over to where the gloves were and was very accommodating....P.S.
