A LITTLE CREEPY... I was surprised this CVS was so quiet given it's in a busy part of DT Phoenix inside cityscape. I walked in with my parents and it was dead silent. Items were easy to find but I got weird vibes inside the store. Staff seemed on edge, I think they have unsavory clientele because they seemed very guarded with me. I came in to buy toothpaste ya'll, come on now... An entire entrance to the store is cornered off and many registers are not in use, this gave me even more of an eerie vibe. I'd like to see what this place is like during the day, at night it seems like a no-go. As for the good, this CVS has an amazing inventory of souvenirs, shirts, and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The location is clean and tidy, I was able to locate my items fairly quickly. Additionally, this location is pretty sizable. I had a lot of space to walk around and explore. read more

After we parked @ the Cityscape public garage to go out to lunch we realized this particular restaurant was very difficult to find! This CVS is immediately attached to the garage so I decided to ask the nice cashier for some guidance as to where this restaurant was because the GPS on my iPhone had me bypassing it! So basically we learned that if you're parking in the Cityscape garage to go to the Cityscape there's a secret path to the Cityscape minus signage! Once you park there's a shortcut you can take if you walk through the CVS to the other side, then bam you'll magically appear in the Cityscape! Oh how easy a few signs for guidance could make our lives a little less frustrating but thanks to nice cashiers we figured out how to get to the Cityscape! read more

All of the team members are amazing! Every time I go to this location, I know someone is going to great me upon entry and exit. A staffer ALWAYS approaches me to ask if I found everything I needed, and the pharmacy folks remember whenever I go to pick up a prescription. I mean, everyone is simply so nice, professional, and focused on whatever their tasks are without missing a beat. Today's visit prompted a review write up because I had a gift card for my purchases and my FSA/HSA card for my scripts and the staffer saw me struggling to use the gift card at the self-checkout and ran over to help me as apparently I need a cashier to use a gift card. Not only did the CVS employee call someone to come open a register to accommodate me, but the cashier was busy helping another customer, so they switched roles and the staffer who saw me struggling went to help the other customer while the presumed cashier or manager then came over to help me checkout with my gift card - woohoo! The simple things... I guess I'm trying to say, their quick action to help both of us idiots with our issues with simply making purchases at the local CVS was really kind and special as most drug store employees do not take the time to show care and concern. I really appreciate the obvious effort these employees put into their job and the store. To top things off, while I was checking out with the lovely cashier, they asked me if I had any coupons, now of course, being a looooong time CVS patron, I had coupons a mile long - The cashier sat there and went through each coupon with me and I was able to find 5-6 coupons that I was just going to ignore. I could not have been happier! Saved plenty. I'll stop rambling, but please know, the employees at this location need to be recognized for their hard work and clear genuine care and concern for their fellow man/woman/person. read more

I literally sat here for 45 minutes and excruciating pain right out of urgent care. They sat there saying they were getting my prescription ready but after 45 minutes, they told me that it was, "on hold and they don't know why. I literally wasted about two hours of my time for them to not be able to fill my prescription and they had no idea why. One girl was just on her phone the entire time one guy was just standing there being useless and one person was trying to help me out, but she was clearly incompetent and couldn't figure out why the prescription I just got from urgent care would not go through despite the fact that it was on my discharge papers and it was sent to them. read more

Mr. Fred at the front desk was an absolute blessing! My friend and I were traveling from New Orleans to Phoenix and our phones were dying so we decided to stop to buy a charger, however as soon as Mr. Fred heard our situation he did not hesitate to help and allow us to charge our phones for free. Along with this absolute blessing he also had wonderful customer service and was such a joy to be around. Great experience at this CVS! read more

Always a problem, if you ask them anything they don't know. They really don't care about their patients

If nothing else, Downtown Phoenix is consistent. CVS is one of the more forgotten franchises. But to their credit, the ones in Downtown Phoenix are pretty conveniently located & for the most part, easily accessible via the Valley Metro rail system. This location in particular is directly across the street from the Maricopa Court Houses, the sheriff's station, a few blocks from Phoenix Police Department Headquarters, as well as the Phoenix federal building. One would think that, being in such close proximity to Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, & The Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, as well as having Homeland Security guards at the entrance of its storefront, the staff would behave differently than other businesses in the area. They don't.  Exhausted from all of the negative experiences I've had in Arizona, I began frequenting this location primarily due to the aforementioned reasons. The thought process is that this location is pretty much directly in the middle of a hive of law enforcement; surely they would have to know no one is stupid enough to try anything here, right? One of the main stereotypes concerning African Americans is that we're of low intelligence & that "all of them steal." Those perceived notions were on clear display when I visited this location on November 24, 2023. I dug through some of the old receipts I had been holding onto & noticed that I had a coupon that would equate to a 90% discount on food items. I figured why not & went to grab the items advertised. Within 30 seconds of entering the store, the PA system advised the customer service representatives to scan all the aisles. Hmm, maybe it wasn't me... I paid for my items and continued my day. Realizing I had more receipts, I scanned the rest of the ones I had & saw I had one that expired that same day. Heading back to the store a few hours later, I told myself I would see if the "scan all aisles" advice was a mistake. Sure enough, upon entry, the PA system again said, "Scan all aisles." The second visit was even taken a step further when the CVS staff member blocked access to my belongings until it was confirmed that I had completed the transaction. "Black" Friday indeed. This experience is nothing new in the Phoenix metropolitan area & is on par with how Arizonians approach scenarios with POC in the workplace. To them, if you're black, you're going to lie, steal, or "You're up to something."   If you're looking to visit this location during your MLB or NBA fan experience, I strongly suggest against it. Overall, this place is not the best place to go if you're of African descent. As you can see from my other reviews, I have not had the most pleasant experiences lately. However! At great personal risk to myself, I write these reviews based on my experiences so that others will benefit from the experiences that I have. I encourage others to SPEAK UP! This place is conveniently located and has everything a tourist could need while on vacation. Somehow I misplaced my fake eyelashes after removing them the first night I was in town- I cannot find them anywhere in my hotel room! I walked to CVS to get another pair. I also picked up bandaids for my sister's new shoe blisters, some monster drinks, coconut snacks and flavored water... The customer service is excellent- I needed a sales associate to unlock the eyelashes from the holder; the only down side is the no cashier checkout- you have to use the self checkout machines, otherwise, this is a great store. read more

This CVS is larger than it looks on entry from any door, and it's well stocked. I think they picked a bad choice for rug color (different shades of grey) because it made me think the floor was dirty on first look. There's quite a few self-serve checkout stations. Since stores like CVS cannot sell liquor in New York, I'm always interested in the liquor selection when I check these stores out elsewhere - I guess you could rationalize that it's "old west medicine," right? The selection was actually pretty good with very reasonable prices, and a discount for purchases in bulk. I think it's also interesting that you can get a better deal on something like liquor here than you can on something like ice cream - priorities I guess. OK man, I don't know how to say this, but these are some of the most terrible women to ever work in retail. And I'm speaking solely of the pharmacy staff, as all other men and women alike have been more than serviceable and fulfilling, confident assistants. . I don't know if the main pharmacist has some kind of dirt on a high level executive, but she runs the pharmacy like a crackhouse. Right when I walk in they yell "I'm not serving that white boy", and they chase me off , usually crying and having to come back at 6 AM to get the medicine I originally came for. Really big selection, including beer and alcohol. But it's expensive and you have to use a parking garage that sucked today. No people check you out, you have to use self checkout. That's usually no big deal but they don't have a self checkout for big orders, so there's no room for all your stuff unless you use the 'skip bagging' feature every time. Manager had to come over several times to override stuff. The other problem, if you have a big load of stuff, is you can't take a cart out of the store so you have to carry everything back to your car downstairs in the garage. In short, good selection but super expensive. Very Inconvenient if you have to get a lot of stuff. Self checkout only accommodates small orders, and no staff can check you out (for the time being, I assume). In addition (not their fault) the parking garage situation can be extremely bad. read more

I needed some over the counter cough medicine as I traveled to AZ and left my medication at home. This CVS is about a 5 1/2 block walk from the Westin where I was staying. The pharmacy staff was very helpful in helping me insure I picked the right cough syrup that did not conflict with my blood pressure medication. And some of the other staff was helpful in helping me find a couple of other products, bottled water, V-8 juice, as well as directing me to the check out line (they were using self checkout lines). I have been a loyal CVS customer for years and go out of my way to shop at CVS when I travel around the country. This is, by far, the least helpful CVS location I have ever been to. There is only one staffed checkout counter, but there was NOBODY there. They have a half dozen self check outs, but none of them work. I stood there with my machine chiming "please wait, help is on the way!" for almost 15 minutes before I left my stuff on the counter and walked out (although, since there were no staff members, I could have easily walked out with my intended purchases." This is a terrible business model and a problem I have never had at dozens of other CVS locations. I come here often as I work in the area. The workers are great and super friendly! Unfortunately I always feel pressured to get out because as soon as I walk in the security guard follows and watches me and they make an announcement to scan the aisles. I can never browse the way I'd like and end up forgetting something which is extremely annoying. I come in after work looking pretty crusty not gonna lie but I'd simply just like not to be profiled every single time and followed around after spending as much as I do here. Yes, they just opened yesterday. But I've been twice now, and am head over heels in love with this store. So far, I've been able to get a morning snack (frozen personal sized pizzas), and afternoon snack (bag of oven baked pita chips) and a commute home treat (vodka). This is the first drugstore in downtown in over 30 years. Currently, they are the only tenants in the retail portion of CityScape. We talked with Steve Barney, regional sales manager, who indicated this was intentional to get downtowners accustomed to dropping in here for needs that may otherwise require a special trip on the way home. Basically, it's getting us used to something so absent downtown--being able to shop downtown for items we actually will use. Imagine that. This location has everything every other CVS sells, and a full (yes, you read that right: FULL) liquor department with wine, beer and spirits. Now, happy hour can start over lunch! They also boast an expanded grocery section, sell sandwiches, ice cream, etc... and will surely be a fiscally conservative option to downtown dining. But that doesn't mean I won't be tearing up the new restaurants as they begin to open. read more

CVS Pharmacy - From the courtyard entrance - Drugstores Near Me - PHOENIX, Arizona

THE urban downtown pharmacy-convenience-liquor store. This is a great addition to downtown and I'm grateful to have them near my workplace across the street in CityScape. They're not 24 hours, but open long enough hours into the night until downtown has emptied of office and government workers and only a smattering of urban dwellers, downtown visitors, students and homeless remain. I don't get the comments saying what a large store it is - or that it's "a dump". It seems considerably smaller than at least what I think of as the usual standalone CVS or Walgreens, and continues to be kept clean and well-maintained despite an apparently thriving business and throngs of at least weekday customers. The store packs a lot into it's narrow aisles and quickly congested space, and has transformed considerably over the past couple of years, carrying a great deal more convenience and snack foods ("healthy" - not so much), and liquor. Lots of liquor. It seems to be rare that I go in when there are not one or more folks in the checkout line that give an appearance of homelessness, waiting to check out with bottles from the liquor shelves. I'm not hatin' - It's just kind of sad, and also seems kind of incongruous that a pharmacy, at least as idealized from my bucolic past, an at least theoretical dispensary of health and healing, should become such a prominent purveyor of poisons, both liquid and ethereal (okay, I'm reaching here: "smokes"). It is however, a great convenience for whatever purpose to denizens of the downtown. Staff has always been friendly and courteous as time and backed-up check-out lines allow. The back entrance/exit to the CityScape plaza has been altered to host a number of self-service checkouts (4 or 5?) in addition to the staffed register. The store offers MoneyGram services and (I believe) photo printing as well, but the latter may have bitten the dust in the wake of an expanded liquor section. The most unique feature of the store however, may be the Luck Strikes bowling lanes upstairs and above the store. It's kind of amusing to hear the bowling balls hit the floor and roll across the ceiling above you while you shop. And when it's really quiet, you can hear the pins drop. Okay, CVS At Jefferson Street: you're good: you've got chilling champagne, Neutrogena bath stuff, little teensy bath bombs in the impulse section near the registers, batteries even for the Furbie I keep in my purse (not.. I mean I really don't have a Furbie in my..purse.. nevermind) and you've been getting more upscale in the few years I've been working downtown. Someone even seems to have shampooed the carpeting. You've upgraded your sandwich offerings even from the aura-of-chicken-salad gas-station type prewrapped things to something that might actually be an okay quick lunch, good work! BUT: think, CVS, think!! Think: How will you be DIFFERENT and BETTER than the Fry's Marketplace that is going to be built soon just one block away? This is how: Offer unusual, and better, bath products: things you cannot FIND in a Fry's: like rose body butter, Auroshika, Auromere, Weleda. Things you can sniff or sip that's hard to find. Incense? Specialty liqueurs that Fry's won't have? How about organic stuff that Fry's just usually gives a passing nod to? Your sister CVSes in Santa Monica, California, and Monterrey, California do this -- I've seen it -- so don't give me this "it's not on our distributor list" nonsense; get a girl to do your ordering and management, or if she's already a girl, get her to be more, well, girly. I moved to the area about 7 months ago and since that point I have been stockin' up extra for just in case I run out and can't drive to the store. The store is small and is often filled with sketchy character's and the security guard eyeballing potential shoplifter's The selection is adequate and will do if you're in a rush, but of course expect to pay typical drugstore prices. As constant and long-time customers of this CVS, we put up with ALOT in choosing to shop here. We were all happy to have a store, ANY store, near court after all those years. The good: Employees generally very accommodating and friendly; Convenient location; Did I say location? The bad: Bathrooms are beyond foul; Always a line and it is ALWAYS long. Clearly understaffing. We do have a large homeless population nearby. I doubt I've ever been to this location without encountering homeless individuals. Unfortunately it is alcohol largely being sold to this local population. It's 8:00 a.m. CVS is open for business. I'm sure the staff are underpaid considering the volume of business and the peripheral issues this location presents. So THE UNACCEPTABLE: As so many of us are downtown working almost daily, we purchase drinks, food, personal items (deodorant, hairspray, barrettes, hairbrushes, make up, medicine for ourselves, medicine for our children, medicine for our spouses, Halloween items, birthday cards, fill prescriptions) The list is actually endless. It is the last stop before I go to my car every day when I leave. So today as I rushed to work, after having an extremely unfortunate NASTY spill covering my work clothes (and court starting in about 30 minutes) I stopped in to CVS to quickly purchase a small cheap fragrance type spray to use on my outfit as I had no other readily available option. An older, blond (80's type style permed and bleached) female manager stopped stocking shelves nearby, came over to me and began chastising me in the middle of the store about test fragrances versus non-test fragrances. To be clear, we are discussing a $2.99 item. This was not apparent (that they were not testers) and the item she was referring to, I purchased. My parting thought is loyalty and decency to your regular, supportive clientele would be a good start. I I have seen utter ridiculousness in that store go absolutely ignored and unaddressed. Overkill on this incident today by management left me feeling a bit sad and unfortunately a lingering bitter taste in one's mouth. read more

It's really nice having a clean, expansive pharmacy in downtown Phoenix. Most people take this sort of thing for granted. Let's just hope it stays that way. This is one of the biggest pharmacies I've ever been in, and the mini grocery aisle and rather giant selection of beverages will be a hit with the lunch crowd and the ASU students. They purposely didn't stock 40s or single-serve liquor bottles, which should help keep the scuzz down to a minimum. I'm confident this store will remain nice, despite its "urban" environment and insanely close proximity to transit. The best part? Suburban prices. See, CVS (and Walgreens and other national pharmacies) have two price models: one for "urban" stores and one for "suburban" stores. Urban ones charge big-city prices. Suburban ones don't. Despite being Phoenix's flagship urban location, this CVS chose to go with suburban prices to accommodate transit users, students and those moving quickly through CityScape. I dig that. read more

So staying 2 blocks away at the Renaissance hotel & couldn't resist going for a stroll on a beautiful sunny day. Found the CVS drugstore. :) It is big, bright & well stocked. Beer, wine, hard liquor' snacks and a few cold food items are available to take back to your hotel. Toiletries in case you forgot anything or TSA took it away. I do not like that they went to 3 express do it yourself checkout lines & one staffed register. read more

Super impressed with the pharmacy department here. I came in from out of town, I was at a conference at a nearby hotel. My doctor hadn't called in my refill before I had to leave home, so I asked if they could transfer my prescription and fill it there. They were going to, but didn't have the drug onsite. They recommended another CVS a few miles away, but I didn't have the time/means to get there. I went to leave, but they then offered to send one of their staff to go pick up the drug from the other store and bring it back for me! How awesome is that? Later on they called me to let me know that unfortunately it turned out my drug (for migraines) can't legally be moved from one store to another, so the only way for me to get it filled was to go get it myself - which I still wasn't able to do - but I still appreciated their calling to follow up with me on that and let me know when they realized the issue. It saved me the walk back to the store to find out. WAY better customer service than I get from my CVS back home! read more

It's very convenient to have this CVS downtown Phoenix, specially if you work there like I do. I can get meds or pretty much any other thing I need in the middle of the day or at lunch time. Their staff's very nice and helpful and they have everything you can think of in there from candy to diapers, to make up, to alcohol to whatever you need from the pharmacy department. It's more expensive than my regular store BUT the convenience of being able to walk over there pays off quickly. read more

This is the best CVS/pharmacy in the Valley. It's right in the middle of CityScape downtown and HUGE!! What's great about this CVS/pharmacy is that they have a wonderful snack/lunch center. So if you work downtown, forgot your lunch, you can run in there to grab an assortment of sandwiches, salads, chips, desserts, soda, juices, candy and more! Get their savings card to save even more money on their already fairly-reasonable prices. If you enter from Jefferson, you will need to go up a few steps to enter the store. They have a lift you can use but I heard it's super slow even though it only goes up 3 feet - literally! If you enter off Central/CityScape plaza, there's ramps and easy access. The quickest way to check out is the NE side of store (facing Central Avenue) - self-checkout. Full-service cashiering on SW side of store (facing Jefferson). I knocked the rating down a star because the neither the pharmacy, nor the store, is open 24-hours, which is crazy for the location they are in!!! Granted, they'd get their share amount of late-night crazies, but amp up security and provide 24-hour service to people working, partying, eating out or going to events downtown or staying in a nearby motel/hotel that need medicine, food or even toilet paper before heading home! Store hours are 6am-9pm. Pharmacy hours are 7am-6pm. The Pharmacy should be open the same time the store is open. They validate parking, but you have to ask one of the staff for it. Most people are pedestrians that work nearby. read more

Extremely incompetent, I have been trying to get my prescription refilled and have gone to 4 different locations and no one has been able to help. Worst of all they told me that they could refill it and then when I went to pick it up they told me that they had sold the last of my medication to another patient. read more

I have been a virgin at rating cvs. Until now. I have always been a fan of customer service, but in the true sense of the meaning and the lady behind the counter at this place is absolutely fantastic. This downtown location could be a lot worse with the wrong attitude but the farmacist on staff at this place is off the chain. She is very helpful, quick, communicative... i feel like she carries the reputation of the whole place.
