We discovered last year (yeah...took us a while) that they have an ice cream parlour inside of it, serving hand-scooped Thrifty-brand ice cream for a really, really value price. Well...due to a plumbing issue, it's been closed for months now...but we stopped by yesterday, and it's baaack. The counter is located right in front, left of the registers. Since there is usually nobody there and it's no different at Rite-Aid to find someone to help you, the right move is to stand-in line at the register and pay first. They will then call somebody over to help. It's $1.99 for one scoop in a cake or sugar cone, and they have a great selection of interesting flavors. I get the mocha almond fudge or rocky road, while other interesting flavors are coconut pinapple, medieval madness. It's scooped using a unique cylinder ice cream scoop, and they are very generous with the portion (one scoop is plenty...some staff will choose to give 2 smaller scoops to make the one 'scoop'). The ice cream is probably a bit below average in terms of taste and creaminess for a gourmet ice cream (reminded me of the ice cream you can serve yourself in a chinese buffet), but it's $1.99, folks. One can't beat the experience of walking back to your home on a hot, sunny SoCal afternoon, trying to lick the ice cream in the right places at the right times so it doesn't melt all over your hands. Ice cream trucks/carts don't seem to serve hand-dipped ice cream anymore, so this experience really reminds me of an earlier time. As a pharmacy, it's honestly somewhat of a crap shoot--I've gotten prescriptions filled here with the wrong amount of tablets, and overall the folks there sometimes seem a little apathetic when it comes to dealing with customers. Maybe they see a lot of things, but they aren't always the most helpful and lines can tend to be long. Prices are what you'd expect for a convenience store. Definitely not a happy camper when I had to make a late night flour run here when I ran out of flour and had to pay $9 for a smaller flour container, but at least it was there! All in all, I'm happy this place is open 24/7. I do wish the exterior of this place was slightly cleaner, but that's not always their fault.

The store is clean and easy to shop, smaller than some of the other stores, and they sometimes are out of itemsI want, but pickup at the counter is very easy. They always seem to have enough staff for the checkout line, and they are friendly and efficient. In-store pharmacy, though, is always busy with a wait. There are always good sales and digital coupons, and in general with CVS I earn discounts for getting prescriptions

The prescription items I need, such as stimulants and azaleaic acid, are often out of stock. I know that can happen at any pharmacy, so I don't hold that against them. My biggest issue is the service. The pharmacists and pharmacy staff often present as though they dislike their job and the customers. Today I was told by a staff member that an item I needed was not available to order and I had to call other Walgreens to see if it was available. She also stated that she could not transfer my prescription to the other Walgreens pharmacy locations. Imagine my surprise when I finally located my medicine and the staff member at that other location was easily able to retrieve my prescription from this location. I don't know if that staff member was misinformed or simply lazy. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth. This is a very frustrating pharmacy location.

I kept getting texts saying my medication was ready, but everytime I called to double check, it was not. When I showed up she got me my medication within less than 30 minutes and was on top of it. (And she kept telling me to sit down and asking if I was ok) I'm extremely understanding that these places are overwhelmed. I've dealt with a really rude male pharmacist here, but Tracy has literally been a lifesaver Recently, I had called ahead of time to see what I needed for an early release (2 days early for a medication that is highly controlled due to me not being able to pick it up on the scheduled day) she told me exactly what to request from my doctor. (Which, I got ahold of my doctors office and told them) My doctor put in for my medication, but unfortunately, they did not put what Tracy needed them to put. It was night time and my doctors office was already closed. Tracy told me not to worry at all and that she would call them in the morning and get it taken care of for me. I honestly did not think much of it. I was fully prepared to call my doctors office / having to deal with it all on my own. Yet, I got a text saying my medication was ready in the morning. Tracy even called me personally (not just the automated generic voice message system they leave saying to come get your medication) Tracy called and told me that she had been calling my doctors office as soon as they opened and she had everything taken care of for me. It honestly made me cry. While dealing with so much such as a surgery and trying to get everything taken care of, it meant so much to me that she took care of everything for me and did not make a fuss about it. She literally went above and beyond and I'm extremely thankful that she not only does her job, but is extremely sympathetic and helpful. I had to go back and ask them to go through the manufacturers coupon and not the insurance, they kept arguing that my insurance covers it and I had to explain multiple times that I paid for the 1400 out of pocket. Eventually they agreed on a refund and then go through the manufacturer without the insurance getting involved.

The service I received was extremely poor, and some staff members behaved in an unprofessional manner I spoke with an employee named Imelda regarding my medication, but she walked away without explanation while I was in the middle of speaking to her. I was left waiting without any update, and she never followed up or checked on my prescription. I then asked for assistance from the manager, Jessie, but she did not take the time to properly review my situation. Even though I explained that my doctor had already sent the fax, she told me I could not receive my medication. Her tone felt impatient, and she raised her voice, which made me feel uncomfortable as a patient. Because of this, I had to contact my doctor again while waiting at the store. After they resent the information, the medication was eventually found in the system--but no one had taken the time to check thoroughly before. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes unnecessarily. I used to visit this CVS location often, and the staff was always helpful and professional. It was one of my favorite stores. However, after this experience, I feel nervous and uncomfortable returning, which is disappointing. I hope management addresses these issues, especially since this is a 24-hour location that many patients rely on.
