The employee who was supposed to be upfront was in the back and was sorting through bags. Kept me waiting until she was done sorting bags. Customer service is nonexistent. They seem to be short staffed and not really care about patients/customers. With so many options, I don't have to keep giving business to a company that doesn't value my business. Two weeks ago my mother went in to pick up a prescription that was prescribed by her doctor. A white woman (my mother is Hispanic) Rudely denied her service, claiming that it was against the law to issue her. The medication that had already been prescribed to her by her doctor. This is unacceptable on all fronts and I will be taking legal action to all acceptable expense for this. My mother was discharged from the hospital at noon on Wednesday. Prescription sent to Moraga CVS. I went by a few hours later and was told that they didn't have it in stock but the Lafayette store did. I called the Lafayette store and their automated system Told Me that it was ready. I went to the Lafayette store and they said that they didn't have it in stock and that it wasn't their prescription- it was at the Moraga store. We argued for a minute and then I played their automated system for them which said that it was ready at their store. They said come back tomorrow (today) I called today and was told it would be ready at 3. I went to get it at 3:15 and was told it wouldn't be ready until after 4. I am waiting. read more

I typically use another pharmacy, came to this CVS pharmacy for a lower GoodRx price on a very expensive med, and won't repeat that decision for any med at any price. It's easy to say a place is the worst ... however, this CVS pharmacy might really be, and its employees deserve to be called out on their behavior. The pharmacist (kinda' tall'ish & blonde'ish ... didn't get her name) defines the words "unpleasant", "nasty", "rude", "jerk", "creep", and others I shouldn't include here ... perhaps her attitude's infected the entire pharmacy staff. On the flip side, props to this CVS store's ops mgr Tejal, who's very pleasant, a good listener and communicator, and understands that a customer being blamed by an employee isn't necessarily the actual problem. To be clear, this review is just for the CVS pharmacy, not the entire CVS store, where the other employees are consistently nice and pleasant. (BTW, had my doctor transfer the scrip to my regular pharmacy ... the CVS pharmacist probably couldn't be more pleased, and I have mixed feelings about whether I should laugh at her or feel sorry for her.) read more

Absolutely dreadful. Called to confirm my prescription was ready.It was confirmed by the virtual assistant . Drove 20 minutes to pharmacy. Waited in the pickup line (6 customers). Was told they had no prescription for me and was referred to the consultant who told me it was too early for a refill. I was not looking for a refill (which was waiting for me at my home CVS), I was traveling and had forgotten my pills. My physician had prescribed 6 pills to get me through my trip. Eventually they found that prescription and okayed it but told me I would need to wait 20 minutes for it to be refilled and they would call me when it was ready. I waited in front of the counter and they telephoned me when it was ready. Got a request to complete a customer survey. Worst EVER experience in life at a pharmacy. I am a Lafayette resident. I use this pharmacy for my cancer response medicines, as there are many meds needed in this area. From nausea, to migraine, to pain, etc., there are many days I must visit the pharmacy. I chose CVS in Lafayette for ease and convenience as it's about 1 mile from my home, or less. The lady at the pharmacy portion is always so super sweet and helpful to me. But it ends there. They always cannot find my prescriptions, they have me listed twice so almost every time I visit I have to tell them that so they can find me and my scripts. If I don't, they tell me they have nothing for me and I have to show the text(s) I've received affirming they have them. I shouldn't have to work for my Rx needs. Today was extra special. As I was leaving with my purchase after the pharmacy I was approaching the counter to pay and I heard an overhead announcement saying, "Can the owner of a silver BMW report to counter and move your car you're blocking a person." I immediately went to the counter and claimed responsibility for the car, yet not blocking as I was in a marked space (a space I park in, as well as several others, every weekend when we go to Diablo Foods or pick up at CVS) and I said, "Hey, that's me, let me quickly pay and figure out what's up." Credit card in hand and purchase on counter. This younger clerk (probably about less than 20) said to me, "You're blocking someone and need to move." I said, "I heard that, can we pay quickly so I can figure out what's the issue?" He said, "But you're blocking someone." I said, "I am in a space marked with lines, regular parking, that I, as well as many others use all the time." He says, "Well it's marked 'no parking' and you shouldn't park there." I said, "That's not true. I park there along with others every time I'm here. I am local and I am aware of parking. I don't see any sign that says that." He told me if I cannot read I shouldn't be driving and also said 'Im local too, nice to meet a neighbor' in the most condescending voice I've ever heard. Is this what living in Lafayette is about? Having teenage cashiers ridicule, belittle, degrade, judge and parent you as you immediately respond to the announcement, claim responsibility and are ready to run out and handle whatever issue someone might have with your LEGALLY PARKED VEHICLE WHILE YOU RETRIEVE YOUR CANCER MEDS? He literally said to me, "If you can't read signs then you shouldn't drive!" Wow. Just wow. First: there is no sign Second: there are lines for parking Third: residents park there all the time Fourth: it's available parking Fifth: 3 more cars were next to me when I left Sixth: you have lost my business for life Seventh: what a stain on CVS There was a Lafayette police officer in lot as I left this situation not paying attention to this foolishness because it was FOOLISHNESS as the lines are there in lot for parking, there is NO sign and others were also parked there. What a terrible place and awful employee treating people/customers with disdain and hatred. I have kept my business (which is plentiful with my condition) with this CVS, but no more. I will move my business elsewhere. And will not allow teenagers to tell me to learn to read, stop driving and learn how to park. Horrible customer service. It's pretty obvious it's not just me.... Horrible, horrible experience I've never been accused of stealing and basically I came in the store to get some ant traps. I was immediately being watched question by employees if I needed help, but they were more staring at me with suspicion. Wish I could give this pharmacy a 0 stars. There is now no way to directly speak with a pharmacist over the phone. I've seen this pharmacy and it is understaffed every time I go in. I find this experience extremely irresponsible especially due to the relationship between a pharmacist and my health. In addition, when I have been connected by a pharmacist, specifically Lucy, I experienced rudeness and disrespect during a normal business interaction when trying to understand why I have two profiles, one of which I am unable to see online. Absolutely zero stars for CVS, 5 stars for the people who work there. I have watched over the years as the pharmacists and support staff just get more and more overwhelmed and less support. Nevertheless, the staff is still friendly, and recently the pharmacist spent a considerable amount of time getting my wife a needed prescription that was out of stock nearby. It is sad, as CVS's incompetence and poor computer systems cost both them and customers a considerable amount of time. I can't tell you the number of times they have synched my prescriptions, to only have them come out of sync and require separate trips (never lasted more than a month). I have also had multiple times I have been texted my prescription is ready, to arrive hours later and it isn't filled. I'm giving 5 stars for SAVANNAH because she was so helpful when I stopped in a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for OTC medicine that I couldn't find. I could have overlooked it so I asked her for help and she walked over to the aisle with me and confirmed that they are totally out. With the pandemic and all, I didn't want to drive from drug store to drug store looking for this So she called the CVS in Moraga, at the Rheem shopping center and they did have it. It's hard to say if this CVS is "worse" than others since it seems they're all pretty terrible. But this one is bad. It's dirty. Many staff members are unhelpful at best and rude at worst. And the pharmacy is a shit show. They take appointments for things like covid shots and then have you stand there and wait for more than 30 minutes while they fill prescriptions for people who do *not* have appointments. This Pharmacy is the worse and it doesn't allow negative stars. I have been coming for 13 years and sadly watched the service go down. I had a basic RX for my daughters for pink eye and it took 3 days to fill (was told the type was the most common eye drop and there is not supply issue). I walked in at 2 pm on 4th of July (again 3 days later) and they told me they were closing and they couldn't help me. I explained to them that I had just got the notice and it took 3 days and they said, sorry we are closing. They have had amazing pharmacist in the past but they all have moved on. They lack customer service here - who closes down for lunch these days. This is an amazing CVS pharmacy. A+++ I'm a doctor and I work with a lot of pharmacies but this is the best. I left VM for my patient who had COPD exacerbation. The pharmacist called me back within minutes to clarify the prescription. She was extremely professional and helpful. Again I work with a lot of pharmacies and this was the best experience I had. When I was rung up for the one item I wanted, the register showed a promotion of buy one get one at 50% off. So I told the cashier I wanted to go grab one more. Never did I ask her to hold my place in line or anything like that. But she started muttering to herself about how she had to do another void and how she already had a lot of voids that day. Hmmm... maybe she's just bad at her job. Besides, there wasn't even anyone in line behind me. so I wasn't holding anyone up. And isn't it the store's own fault that they didn't place their price tags correctly? When I went back to grab the second item I double checked and confirmed there was no price tag saying the item was buy one get one 50% off. If you want to be treated rudely then this is the place for you. Otherwise, shop at the Walgreens across the street. Very disappointed. I called a couple of times recently to find out if this pharmacy offered Shingrix vaccines ... never got through despite waiting an hour on hold one day and 40 minutes the next. My doctor was kept on hold recently for 40 minutes, too, last week and today left a prescription on voicemail that somehow mysteriously disappeared. There are always at least 4 people behind the pharmacy counter when I visit, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll be taking my business to the Walgreen's across the street. read more

This CVS deserves less than one star. When I tried to fill a prescription, on the day it was due to be filled, the pharmacist screamed at me saying I could not fill the script and then hung up on me. It was wildly unprofessional. Then, when in to clarify that this unprofessional pharmacist was incorrect, he told me they didn't even have my medication. He also confirmed that my home pharmacy had the prescription and could fill when I got home the next day. Come to find out, none of this was true. So due to one Incompetent man, who should not be a licensed pharmacist at all, I am now having to jump through hoops for days on end. Save yourself the trouble and go to any other pharmacy other than cvs if you live in the Bay Area. They're all idiots. read more

After putting up with error after error at my local Walgreens, I finally decided to switch pharmacies and transferred to this CVS. My only regret is not doing it sooner. It's a little farther for me to drive but having peace of mind and not worrying about my prescriptions when I'm already not feeling well is so worth it to me. read more

After receiving a CVS e-mail stating: "Get one FREE item up to $10" I stopped by this store, found an item just over $9 and went up to the counter. ( In the e-mail you can click the button and the CVS website will process the coupon to your card so it is "in the system" ready-to-use online or at the store. ) The college-aged cashier, after telling her about my coupon, scanned my card, scanned the item, and said it wasn't working. She didn't even see the coupon in the system. She tried again, a couple of times, nothing. I showed her the e-mail on my phone, she plugged in some numbers, then said the coupon was showing up. She scanned the item again...nothing. She said I probably had to buy something OVER $10. Some retail stores operate like that, but this coupon explicitly states "up to $10". I looked around for another item, didn't like the high pricing, then gave up, walked out. When I was in Walnut Creek I did the exact same thing, same item just over $9, but this time with the printout stating the coupon was on my card, with the last 4 digits of my card on the paper. The cashier confirmed the coupon was in the system, but couldn't figure out how to ring it up. ( Again?? ) The manager stepped in, rung it up, no charge to me with the coupon, told me it was done, I was on my way. Now...was that so difficult, Lafayette? [ Buyer Beware: On the CVS website "Coupon Policy" page: "We have the right to refuse or limit the use of any coupon and/or the subsequent return for any reason and at the discretion of CVS Pharmacy management." The COVS at the Rheem Center near the Home Goods in Moraga is not a good store to shop. I can never find the items I wanted, not like the CVS at downtown San Francisco. Also be very very careful about their Pharmacy Department. They always give you the oldest medicine they have which will expired in a few month. I got one item recently which has the exactly same expiration date as the item I received 1 1/2 years ago. Please open the package to check the EXPIRATION DATE before you leave the Pharmacy Department. Once you walk away they will not allow you to exchange it !!!!!! They are happy finally can get rid of the old inventory. read more

Poor service. I use CVS only because it's close and familiar. The store part is fine but the pharmacy isn't. The pharmacists continue to work in the back while people are waiting, in plain sight, for service. The personnel are generally cold, never rude but never pleasant. You can wait forever for them to serve you on the phone. The repeated recorded phone messages about a prescription being ready or due for a refill are annoying. This CVS is horrible. The service has always been terrible, but I have continued to go there because of the convenience. The other day, I had to pick something up. Unfortunately, I was on crutches. Many shoppers were annoyed when I said, "excuse me" so that I could get by. But those were the customers. Or so I thought. One woman rolled her eyes as I walked past her. Well - this has been "bills, longs and now cvs drugs" . I've been coming here that long. The store is still very old fashioned in its layout, and mentality. (I.e. do you really need a gate for employees to leave in the back?) It's just old and a bit weird. I also feel that they hire the less fortunate, but that's another story. I like this store for its convenience, regardless of the parking lot. I really can't excuse the pharmacy - everything takes twice as long. I'm no longer a fan of the target one either... I usually come here for the pharmacy, so that's what my review is based on. I've come to learn that CVS's online prescription refill is very unreliable. It should be quick and painless, but sometimes it is days before I get a text saying that my prescription is ready; sometimes I never get a text at all. The website often doesn't work correctly and it is a pain to get the text reminders set up. But all of this is probably the issue of CVS as a company, not this particular location. This location always has a line at the pharmacy counter. They seem to be short-staffed most of the time. However, the staff are usually helpful and they actually helped me save some money by recommending I get something different than what I normally do, so I'll give them 3 stars. read more
