I scheduled Covid/Flu shots twice through the CVS mobile app and both times CVS Pharmacy advised me upon arrival they did not have anyone available to administer the shots. Apparetnly they have a known system glitch as this has impacted others and they are either too busy or are not capable of notifying customers (they have my phone and e-mail) to cancel the appointment. Get the "we're very sorry" which really doesn't cut it. Either fix the KNOWN problem or develop a painful work-around until a solution is in place. Do not claim to be helpless in this process of providing semi-professional customer service. Arrived as a walk-in at 12:30 on 8/5 and waited 30 minutes (no other person ahead of me), Never again will I step inside this store for anything. read more

Most horrible experience I've ever had at cvs. Pharmacist tech young white lady in her 20's. Horrible communication skills and ability to perform her duty. Scenario: I needed to pick up my medications and on the staff end it showed I have no insurance. Insurance card given. Luckily I have means to private pay my medications. However , with one attempt only, this lady tells me that my insurance is not active and she has nothing else to tell me. Quoted verbatim. Thank God, I am in hospital management, strong enough to advocate for myself and request my case be escalated. I communicated actively am working with my employer and showed proof of verification. This lady stared at me in my face smirking and told me there's nothing she can do. Repeatedly I asked again to ask another staff or find a way to resolve this issue. Eventually, the pharmacist came to help me. With my communication driven on finding a solution, he goes on and tells me there's nothing that he can do and he won't retry to input my insurance details after advocating that he start from the beginning. Finally, we move forward for me to call my insurance member services. They validated that my insurance is in fact active and without any type of manipulation on their end, somehow my medication was all of a sudden covered and CVS saw it on their end. No accountability was given. And the pharmacist proceeds to tell me that it must've been Insurance Agent pressing a button on the back, end . After that statement, I verified with Insurance Agent, she did not a single thing except verify who I was. Without my expertise in the hospital to advocate for patients, I fear for other patients that will be easily dismissed just because they wouldn't re-attempt again. The goal of the pharmacy is to help and serve patients. . Patient should not have to endlessly advocate for themselves repeatedly to get fair treatment. Very, very stressful. And not a great experience to ever be again. I hope this situation gets under investigation as I was there October 31 at 6:15pm- 6:45pm. This needs to go under investigation. read more

I've had it. I swear to god, there is something wrong with the god damn idiots who work here. I waited for TWENTY MINUTES to be helped. It was actually longer but that's just when I started paying attention. I got a new prescription for a sleep med that I've never tried before. The only sleep med I know of that is a controlled substance is Ambien. It was not Ambien I was picking up. Nowhere at all was there any indication that I needed a physical ID to pick up this med. I looked it up when it was prescribed to me. No indication it was a controlled substance. It wasn't mentioned on the app that I needed to bring my damn ID. I have my drivers license on my phone. That's all I had with me because it's 2026! It's a legal god damn ID. it's accepted at the damn airport but noooooo, not acceptable at CVS. I need a physical ID. This is just the last straw with this god forsaken pharmacy. I literally have an issue picking up meds here every single time. I'm so fucking done. I miss Ride Aid a the Palos Verdes Mall. The staff was a little prickly there too but at least I never had to wait! I could also get coffee, food, my dry cleaning, drop off at UPS, and go grocery shopping at that mall. I was shocked when I was strongly advised to significantly change a treatment plan without any knowledge of the patient's full medical history or consultation with the prescribing doctor. That kind of advice felt both irresponsible and unprofessional. This treatment is a matter of life or death. The hospital explicitly told me to ignore ANY advice coming from this pharmacy as they're not qualified for such complex cases. To leave a message and wait for someone to call back is NOT keeping your customers. I am now very happy with Walgreens. The transition was very easy; Walgreens did it for us. 2. On top of it, today, we realized the CVS Minute Clinic has left California! We called Minute Clinic today, and they said they have shut down all Minute Clinic locations in California. We used to go to this Walnut Creek location for vaccination because the staff there at Minute Clinic were still medically professional. 3. And worse, the online Minute Clinic (without letting us know the Minute Clinic is gone) scheduled us for the vaccination appointment at the CVS pharmacy. 4. More worse, we later found out this pharmacy actually does NOT have the vaccine! How bad can they get? I entered it again a second time. Again, I received a notice that they had trouble with the transfer. Ug. Now this store has the person who stands by the door and "greets" you when you walk in. Why? What does this do? Is there a single person in the world who likes this. I watched for a second as the person greeted people walking in, about five people, and not a single one was happy to have her right there jumping on them as they walked in the door. You're thinking about your purchase or what you need to do and now someone is interrupting you "HELLO, WELCOME!" Especially when this person could be working a register or doing something that actually helps customers. I don't use this store a lot because there are always lines when I come here. $300+ Medication Marked Down To $35 ... AMEN TO CVS!!! As a child who grew up in the 1980s, this location has always been my go-to pharmacy, as it once was a Long's Drugs before it became CVS... As I still come her for all my prescriptions, I write this review because in being a recent heart attack survivor, I am now having to take a plethora of heart medications, blood thinners, etc. Thus, my Cardiologist recently prescribed a new medication for me: Bystolic. Even with insurance covering it, the co-pay was going to be OVER $300 -- that alone almost caused me another heart attack; however, Steve, a pharmacy tech., was so professional, and thinking straight, as he offered to go online, right there, and try to get me a coupon for this medication, from the Bystolic website. I had NO CLUE one could go on the direct websites, for some of these medications, and find coupons, but sure enough, Steve knew to! EUREKA!!! Steve found me a coupon, registered it to my CVS account (so it's in their system, under my name, and will always be used for my Bystolic prescription orders), and got it so I ONLY PAID $35 for this medication INSTEAD OF the initial $300+ amount. JESUS! I felt I'd been saved! So this review goes out to Steve, but also Tom, and all the others who are so kind, and willing to help me, whenever I am there picking up my prescriptions. I've been coming here for now almost 35 years and this pharmacy is run by ethical people (Pharmacy Techs., and Pharmacists) who I trust my well-being is in safe hands. They usually have one person at the counter and a long line. They wiped my account online out when they found out I was switching pharmacies. Now my prescriptions are all screwed up thanks to them. Completely incompetent pharmacy. No one knows what they are doing. I pre-scheduled a flu shot on line earlier today. I checked in and I was told they would page me when the pharmacist was ready. After 15 minutes of waiting past my appointment time I went up to the check-in area to see what was going on. They were taking walk-ins and lining them up for pharmacist who was still filling prescriptions. (I was in my car taking care of my patients call backs)Apparently he told me the pharmacist tech & pharmacist took their time "talking " without giving them the proper advice for his medication. *Thank goodness I'm in the medical Field and I already know what he needs to take lol * All I can say, they aren't professional and if you're significant other is attractive they'll take their time to shoot their shot. I'm not mad, I'm flattered lol. Their staff is unprofessional and if it's convenient to get medication go for it. If you're significant other is attractive, my advice - go with them, maybe it will get the prescription pick up faster. . Hands-down the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. The pharmacy employees are extremely unprofessional, rude, unhelpful and unsympathetic. Not to mention (in my experience) they don't actually check for prescription arrival dates and give you the stock answer "it will arrive at 3:00 today." After my 3rd day in a row of not receiving important medication the pharmacist told me to contact my doctor to have it prescribed to another CVS that might have it (and refused to check alt locations or help). Important to note it is 6PM on Friday so F* me right?
