The pharmacy had what the doctor ordered. Got a call from pharmacy and pick up was a snap. The issue arose when I went to take my med. The aluminum seal was partially unsealed and it was too late to return to get a replacement: pharmacy is closed and I am due for my dose. Counted the pills--all there so took my dose. Tried calling the next day. The pharmacy terminated the call twice. Check your prescriptions that are filled to make sure the tamper-proof seal is intact before walking out. read more

I recently transferred all of my prescriptions to this in network pharmacy for my Cigna policy. First question, "do you want me to do some partial refills so we can get all of your medications synced up to a single pickup date?" WHAT?! You can do that?! Amazing! The owner was very helpful in tracking that everything that needed new scripts was coming in, and voila, single pickup date per month. Pharmacists in big chains are being overworked, brutally, with metrics like scripts filled per hour the priority. This means any snag in YOUR issue is hard for them to prioritize. Contrast that with Oak Grove, where customer service comes first. Mom and pop pharmacists are a dying art, and worth their weight in gold. Next store will be a new French bakery (swoon), Peet's is down the way, TJ's is there, as well as Boichek bagels. So a great location too! read more

A small but well-appointed pharmacy in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Conveniently located amongst restaurants and shopping. What makes this pharmacy a real standout is the pharmacist. This is a family owned business and it shows! Akram has to be the kindest most trustworthy pharmacist I have ever met. He's super present, knowledgeable and professional. Wow, what a pleasant experience here compared to using a chain drugstore! I found this pharmacy when I was trying to fill a hard-to-find prescription and am very happy with them. The pharmacist and staff are very pleasant and when I had a discount code from the manufacturer that wasn't working they called and got it sorted out on the spot and then kelt it on file for me. And they answer the phone when you call (not always true for other pharmacies!). Very professional and my physician has even mentioned how easy to work with they are. Frustrated with the service at Walgreens on Ygnacio, I came here because Oakgrove Pharmacy was the only one out of about a half dozen (the usual corporate suspects) that I called to try and order my preferred generic brand for a common topical lotion. Walgreens stopped carrying my preferred brand , instead they switched to one that was sticky on the skin and they said their supplier did not have the previous brand. In fact none of the other major pharmacies carried it or could order it either. On top of that one of the pharmacy assistants at Walgreens gave me trouble for simply asking for the less harmful effective brand I was used to getting, belittling me for having the temerity to simply ask the question!!! When I called up and spoke to Nasir, he looked it up and said "no problem I can order that for you" so he went ahead and transferred my prescription... it was filled within a few days and my insurance covered it for the same copay. I picked it up, of course no waiting line- I was in and out of there in 5 minutes which has never once happened to me in all the years I've been going to Walgreens. And it looks like I will be able to transfer my other two prescriptions over as well, so I can't wait to be done with Walgreens, as well as even the thought of any other corporate pharmacy... they all have long wait times on the phone and long lines... I was having problems with the mega pharmacy - poor communication between my doctor and CVS. I had to hunt for my Rx at various branches until Nasser of Oak Grove Pharmacy stepped in and contacted my doctor for me. I really appreciate the extra service level at this pharmacy. I am done with the big box pharmacies . I haven't had to wait in line at this pharmacy and they are easy to reach by phone. Oak Grove also has free delivery. I haven't used delivery yet but it's nice to know it is available. Prices are the same but service level is really fantastic! read more

I loved this place when I first started going here. The man who is the owner was wonderful, kind, and went over and above. However, sadly there is a woman who is there when he is not who is absolutely horrible. At first, it was little things here and there. Then she tried to tell me one day that I came and picked up my insulin when I did not. So it was my word against hers. Mind you she only half-heartedly looked for it once. Tried to claim it said I picked it up. I asked her to produce evidence that I had picked it up and she never did the whole time. I asked her when did "I" come to pick up "My insulin" exactly. She then told me the very day of my birthday. I then told her that is impossible since I wasn't even here that day. She didn't seem to really understand that I am type 1 diabetic and it's kind of important. I said I need my insulin and you have yet to prove to me who picked "my insulin" up because it wasn't me. She tried to say my boyfriend must have picked it up then. I said no he did not he can't drive, I drive him everywhere. Try again. She kept making excuse after excuse till I literally produced the receipt and box from the last box of insulin I got from them. She "checked" the computer again then she looked one more time in their fridge and then magically it appeared. She said oops I guess it was in the back. Yeh lady like I told you I didn't pick up "My insulin" She was pretty rude to me the whole time too even after she had to admit it was a mistake. That's when I left and went elsewhere which sucks cause I loved everyone but her. But when it comes to my life yah it's a bit more important I find a place that will not screw with my insulin and actually has someone check if someone signed off on something before saying I did. read more

He wasn't rude, but the store was completely empty and he didn't want to try to help me find a medication that didn't have ingredients I'm allergic to. Every other pharmacy I've ever been to in my life has been a better experience. He just tried to convince me that no medications have dyes in them, when most of them do and wouldn't help me find an antibiotic that worked similarly to the one I was prescribed or contact my doctor to find out what else would work. read more
