I feel like I've been calling and dropping into every salon I can to try and find bottles of the old formula for my shampoo. Enter in Rite Aid. I called ahead to this location and they did a stock check and were able to set aside the bottles they had for me. I feel kind of bad for them. The ladies that were in the Rx department seemed incredibly nice and I didn't talk to the woman at the counter to the right of the door, but she seemed nice. I can only say my goodness. Tons of empty shelves and despite reading that the medication I was trying to get is at Rite Aid, it wasn't here at this location. I don't know if they're doing renovations, simply understaffed and not getting orders in, or if they're closing down, but you can hardly find assistance or the items you're searching for. Another woman was trying to get her elderly mother some Metamucil, and I suggested an aisle I had walked down previously, but she couldn't find it anywhere there either. This review is purely bc of the interaction with the staff of this shop. There are many things locked up and there isn't staff in abundance in the store. Imagine a full day of work chock full of dealing with customers looking for locked up things and also the folks that are the reason the goods are locked up in the first place. This place is enervating. First, the Rx didn't show quantity, so I called the pharmacy and 3 times got kicked out of the voice prompts and started over before someone finally picked up (there were 3 ppl in the pharmacy). I received a text for the Rx refill and used the link to their payment system (adding CC info) to make my pick-up easy. When I arrived at the Pharmacy, their "system" showed the payment didn't go through and I would have to pay again. I showed them confirmation I received via text, the browser on my phone and they insisted it didn't go through. They then suggested I check my "bank statement" - I pulled up my credit card app and there was the pending Rite-Aid charge for my Rx. Despite 3 pieces of evidence, the staff kept reverting to "it doesn't show it's paid in our system". Even the manager was on board that my proof was wrong. I finally asked to get someone from corporate on the phone (which took another 10 minutes) when the tech came over and said she could cancel the transaction and we could start over - but I'd need to check with my credit card and if I got double-charged I would call and they would then give me credit for one of the charges. I would suggest staying away from this place unless you have no other options. The staff seems not well-trained and the manager made no point of showing concern for the customer. Lastly, when I got the tech on the phone before arriving I told her I have a GoodRx code that was $4 less than what they were quoting me - and she said those prices aren't accurate. My husband and I walked in visibly looking around. A working coming from the back was so friendly and asked if we needed help. We let him know we were hoping they still sold ice cream by the scoop (my husband grew up eating it) he said yes and directed us to the front. The cashier put a hair net, a mask and gloves on before scooping out Ice cream. Horrible Pharmacy experiences. The pharmacist there is currently holding my medication hostage. There was a simple issue in which I needed to call my insurance to get an approval. I did that. Pharmacy then said that they (insurance) must call them directly. Si I called insurance and they agreed to call pharmacy direct to release it. Pharmacy denied to release even after insurance called and approved. So, called insurance and spoke to supervisor. Insurance supervisor called pharmacy to release. Pharmacist still denied to release rx. I'm on my 3 rd hour now attempting to get a different store (pharmacy) to transfer rx. Unbelievable as I wait here in terrible sciatica pain. And this I'd a Non-narcotic by the way. Second issue in 4 months. August the gave me the wrong medicine in the correct bottle that I took for 3 weeks as the pills appearance is almost identical in sharpe and color. Currently seeing an internist for issues resulting from the wrong precipitation. Don't know why I gave them a second chance...... Unfortunate-- read more

As if no one works there. They say that need an hour to wrap a pill then you call 2 hours later to pick up; they still don't have it ready. In fact they have no idea that you called and wanted to pick up. They don't find your prescription and they say that they don't see anything for you to pick up while your doctor called the prescription in. Been going to this store since it opened and never had a bad experience until today. At 2 PM today I went in to pick up my meds. They claim the pharmacy is open 9-6 on Saturday but they were closed for lunch. My issue with this is 1. They only have one person working on the weekends although I haven't seen them closed before at this time 2.They need to put closed hours on the website and phone message so their customers don't waste their time and have to come back. I went to the main cash register to buy one other thing I came there for. The checker asked me if there was anything else I needed and I responded the pharmacy open. He told me he couldn't do anything about it. I asked for a manager and this guy looked at the other cashier. In all the years I have been coming here I have never run into anyone that is less than professional until Frank Hernandez, supposedly a supervisor. He told me there was no manager onsite but that it wouldn't matter and I should call corporate because they make the rules. I again asked for a manager and he said there was only an assistant manager but he was a supervisor and there was nothing anyone in the store could do to help. I told him that perhaps I should just find another pharmacy because it's bullshit they make their customers come back. And Frank's professional response was "good." I told him he is a pissant and that I would definitely speak to the corporate office about him. He just shrugged, smiled this condescending smile at me, and laughed under his breath to his coworker. I left the store and immediately starting calling to reach a manager. Took me 6 tries of either Frank telling me there was no manager or being put on hold for 5 min at a time by other employees before finally reaching the assistant manager who listened, seemed to writing down what I said, apologized and told me she would pass it on to her manager. Probably not true but exactly what a supervisor or assistant manager should say. Rite Aid please do something about this rude, condescending, flippant "supervisor" Frank Hernandez. It's not good for business to have someone like that as your face to the customer. As long as RiteAid misrepresents their pharmacy hours and as long as Frank Hernandez works there I will no longer shop at this store and most likely will not frequent the pharmacy either. You ever go to the Drug Store just to pick up a couple of items, and end up in SHOCK at the check out total? $75? WTH did I get? I bet you ladies do this all the time. You go for some emergency "Feminine Items" and end up distracted and splurging on new make-up, cheap nail polish and Pantene hair products, right? For $75, I got 6 "Game of Life" tickets and a game board. Win a cruise, $250k for your mortgage, a new Lexus convertible? Turns out, you get these tiny little stamps that your supposed to moisten and adhere to the right spot on the paper game board, but they don't stick! And, the rules say, you cannot use glue or tape! WTH? So you take the time to tear these little things apart, lick them, stick them on the right place, mail them in, and they all fall off for some worker at Rite Aid to give to their friends to win? Plus the odds of winning are a Bazilion to one. Even winning $2 is about 60 - 1, if you get 48 tickets! And this game is only for 2 months! That is a lot of toothpaste and hair conditioner! Suggestion: Don't go out to buy sundries when you have a lot of time! Just get what you came for an get out! Quick! Oh, but before you go, get a scoop of Ice Cream! Ever since Target designed their new prescription bottles, I prefer to shop at the former Dayton-Hudson subsidiary over any of the chain drug stores. Plus, I think their Pharmacy services are better. There's very little here at Rite Aid that I need that I can't find at Target. Unfortunately, there is currently no pharmacy at the Pleasant Hill Target, which leaves me with options of keeping my account in Albany or heading to the WC. This Rite Aid is close close to my Pleasant Hill home, and if they keep the ice cream counter, I'm sure I'll occasionally be back for this or that. read more

High five for still having Thrifty Ice Cream! The cheapest yummy ice cream around. The prices have went up but it is still a bargain. I know this is random but this Rite Aid also has great selection of hair accessories. Whenever I go to Target, Walmart, CVS or any drugstore type places, I always buy hair clips and claws because I seem to always lose them... and this store has the biggest aisle of them! This is one of the cleaner / more organized Rite Aids I have been to in the immediate area. I was able to quickly find everything I was looking for thanks to the signs stating what is in each aisle. I am such a sucker for shoes from Rite Aid. I don't know what it is about them, but they are simple, stylish and one fourth the price of what I would pay for their look-a-likes. This Rite Aid had a nice shoe selection. I bought two pairs that night. The store was organized, which was a nice change, most Rite Aids I have been to have been pretty disorganized. Tate, who I believe is a Manager, was working late, and had this gracious manner, with a smile on his face. He seriously was so polite, welcoming, and just genuinely decent -- rare to find these days -- and he made my spirits a little brighter. Thank you, Tate! 3 weeks ago I decided to schedule an appointment for a vaccination on their website. The earliest appointment they had was today, 01/16 @ 5pm. I was trilled to see that I was given the choice of which (brand) injection to have. Perfect! I show up minutes before my scheduled time and was immediately greeted at the counter. Told the pharmacist I have an appointment for vaccination and provided my full name. I was then told they don't have the type of dose I requested but, was offered the alternative. " I'm sorry, you don't have the brand I choose 3 weeks ago to have!?" Why wasn't I notified about this days before? Simply inexcusable. The pharmacist on duty began to state, "there's been a lot of people who schedule appointments and end up not showing up." umm.."BUT, I'M HERE RIGHT NOW!" They then offer to look to see if there's another location that has the specific dose I choose. I said, "fine, look." And then, here's the kicker..."you won't be able to get it today since it's the weekend and they don't do injections after 5pm." WTH!? I said, "you know what, forget it!" They failed at communicating on so many levels. I find it hard to trust this Pharmacy for any type of medication needs. Completely unacceptable. read more

I'm admittedly a Walmart girl. Yeee Haw! Yuck! I was actually at the camera store located in the same shopping center and realized that I needed to get notebook for a project my sons schools was requiring the parents to do. In preschool parents are expected to do all of the homework. Its like prep for the future. Anyways, I wanted a notebook with regular old lined paper. I figured this was the best place as any to get one. They luckily have a nice selection. While most of it seemed picked through. I did find a nice book to get. The other bad thing is they have a ton of chotchkies here for your 3 1/2 year old to grab and beg you to buy. I give in, but only for one item. He has to decided which item he wants the most. He settled on a hat that looked like the top of his head was a foam parrot. 3 year olds, they're crazy! Am I right mommies?! *Yuck again* There was no one in this store either. It was dead in here. The lady working at the check out counter was sweet. She had a cute little conversation with my son about his parrot hat. This wasnt my destination of choice but it worked at the moment. Stinky carpet is directly proportional to a shitty sex life. That's why I am so OCD about a clean house. And I have a pooch, so cleaning is mandatory at least once a week, right? Well I like that sprinkle on carpet powder that you throw everywhere before you vacuum. If you haven't used it - you should. This stuff works great. Moreover, when I asked if he could help me find my carpet sprinkle pre-vacuum fresh house anti-pet stank powder, he walked me to where it should be - had they not been out of it. Ready for what happened next? He explained that the delivery truck was there, that my carpet sprinkle pre-vacuum fresh house anti-pet stank powder was in the back of the truck and offered to go digging through the truck to find it for me! WHO THE F*** IS THIS GUY AND WHAT DID HE DO WITH ALL THE SHITTY CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE WE ARE ALL USED TO SEEING THESE DAYS? Needless to say, I was flabbergasted. Automatic five stars. The new remodel on the interior of the store looks nice and gives it an open feel. They always have items in stock, and if you need something, the manager, David, would order it for you. He had been with Rite Aide since high school at the now closed Ygnacio Valley Road location. Since David left, they have a new manager and a new staff -- all of whom are not nearly as pleasant, nor knowledgable, as he was. (I was told he took college courses and works at a big tech company now! I'm not surprised, as he was a top notch manager : ) I still drop in for items that are on sale and that I cannot find elsewhere, but I do wish that they could have more than one cashier to handle the line. One of their coolers of ice cream was broken (of course the one with the flavor I wanted) and the other looked old an dirty. I was very sad. Sometimes the service is terrible. Sometimes you wait a long time for ice cream. BUT, it's soooo worth it. I'd wait as long as they wanted me to. I'd wait while standing on one foot. I'd wait while singing a song for everyone (which would ensure that they help me sooner to get me gone). This is based on the pharmacy. I can't think of a positive thing to say about the pharmacy. My order was not received by their fax. Ok, so it could have been a technical issue. I can understand that. But once I told the pharmacist that my doctor's office was ABOUT to call in my rx, she just stood there, with a blank expression, as the phone rang several times. After being promised that the rx would be ready in 15 minutes, it wasn't. Apparently the 15 minute promise excludes phone orders. As if that wasn't enough, I asked for a consultation and the pharmacist was out to lunch, and I was told to call back. Can you say service with a frown? I reminded the pharmacist to smile once in a while because she looked miserable. read more

I come here all the time and really like the Russian (?) lady I usually deal with. She's so friendly and efficient. I manage a string of corporate owned salons and frequently purchase gift cards here for contest prizes and gifts, seeing as how it's in walking distance. I have an American Express company card. Today a different lady helped me (middle aged Pacific Islander with strange mole). She said I could only pay cash for the gift cards, which I purchase frequently with my credit card and have never had a problem. What is your policy on this? It seems like it depends on who I go to and as a major company, you should stay consistent in giving information between employees. I spend a lot of money here every other day but because of this experience I will not be back. There are far too many Walgreens and CVS stores to be tied to a drug store that won't allow you to use a credit card all of the sudden. Bed Bath and Beyond is across the street and also sells gift cards and Safeway is a block away. I bet THEY aren't too good for my money. read more

If i could give negative ratings i would. We came in at about 1:45 pm today if this helps the managers out. I was trying to buy 6 items. I had 3 coupons for $6/2 items for the items i was purchasing. Idiot at the counter didnt know how to scan them. Refused to let me use more thwn 1 coupon. Told me i was only allowed 1 coupon per transaction which i know better. I coupon alot. I know every stores coupon policy. Then she cancelled out the entire purchase. Tried to get me to make 3 seperate purchases. I was trying to get my 10$ bonus cash for a 30$ make up purchase. The male manager who walked over didnt even do anything to help out. Just cancelled the pirchase and walked away. Will not be coming back to this rite aid. Came here about 6 months ago and received the worst customer service that made me promise to never come back here again but I knew they have such good ice cream so I broke my promise and went there. I was greeted by the Assistant manager who told me some one would be with me in a second to scoop some ice cream, after waiting just 2 minutes he came over and apologized, scooped me ice cream and said it was on him for waiting so long. I wasn't there long at all but to him it was long and I think that is great customer service!! It was so nice that he did that and it definitely made up for the last experience I had. His name was Sylvester young blood lol and he gave exceptional service! Even talked for 10 mins and told me next time I come in and ever have a problem come see him. I had surgery and am on full bedrest, except that to pick up percocet, you have to show up. On my painful and exhausting trip, I was excited to see that Rite Aid offered a 15 minute guarantee so that I could get back to bed quickly. Within five minutes the pharmacy manager, Lek Sananikone, called me with an insurance issue. I informed Lek that I was aware but that my doctor had just spoken with my insurance company and gave approval to cover it and they had said it was ok. My doctor had asked that I have the pharmacist call if there was a problem, so I suggested that Lek do this. Lek refused to talk to my doctor and told me to go back to the CVS pharmacy where I had gotten the prior prescription. I explained to Lek again the situation, that my doctor had just talked to the insurance company and that she had asked that the pharmacist call her if there was a problem. He told me to go to back to CVS, that the computer told him no and there was nothing he could do about it. I again stated that my doctor had just gotten off the phone with my insurance company, and perhaps he could call them. He told me the insurance company is already rejecting it, there's nothing he could do, I should go to CVS. At this point I started to get upset because it seemed like he wasn't even trying to help me, he was just trying to get rid of me. I told him this and suggested again that he call my insurance company. He finally did and was on the phone for quite some time. While I waited, I called my doctor and told her what was going on. She got the insurance company on the other line and they told her everything is fine and it should go through. He got off the phone and told me there is nothing he can do, the insurance company says no. I asked him to talk to my doctor. He refused. At this point I am crying, in pain, exhausted, on crutches, and not even supposed to be out of bed. My doctor was on the phone with me and asked to speak to Lek, who said no, but I handed him my phone anyway. I do not know the contents of their conversation, but in the meantime my boyfriend suggested that I might be able to pay cash. I asked Lek if this would be possible and he snapped at me to be quiet because he's trying to talk to my doctor. He handed the phone back to me and she was very upset with him. I asked him again if I can just pay cash. He said yes. I asked him why he didn't suggest this in the first place. He didn't answer me. I asked him if it will be a few minutes, and he says yes so I hobble over to the make up section and browse while I wait. At 25 minutes after THAT I still hadn't been called so I went over to the register to wait. My boyfriend made a comment about the 15 minute wait guarantee, and a technician who hadn't been there before asked my name. My prescription was waiting by the register and I had not been called. I made my purchase and asked about the 15 minute guarantee. Lek told her no because there had been an issue. I asked, "Really?" Lek replied, "there was an issue." I was very calm in the beginning, but at this point I am extremely upset. I said to my boyfriend and the technician, "well, lesson learned, I won't be a Rite Aid customer." Lek stopped what he was doing and came over to me to say, "If you hadn't been so rude we would have taken care of you. I would have taken care of everything for you." I remind him that I wasn't upset until he wouldn't help me come to a solution. I told him I've never been treated so badly by a pharmacist before - that I thought pharmacists were supposed to help you make things work. Then we left. For the record - I am not upset that Lek couldn't make the prescription work. I understand that insurance companies are difficult. I am skeptical that he couldn't have done something more given that my insurance company was on the other line saying it was fine and it should go through. I am extremely upset with Lek because: a) he immediately said "computer says no" and didn't even try to offer a solution, he made it clear he didn't want to help, told me to go to CVS b) he never even suggested that I could pay cash as an option c) he was extremely rude to me and my doctor after this d) once my prescription was ready, he didn't call me and made me wait extra time FYI - it wasn't busy. I was the only customer there at this time. I've worked in customer service and know what it takes. He's the pharmacy manager, he should be more helpful, and more professional. He should also be understanding of the fact that someone picking up a prescription for percocet with her doctor on the phone and standing on crutches in tears might be in a place where she needs a little more help. I won't go back to RiteAid **Update: Corporate called me to make amends today. Impressed with their immediate response and am willing to give a different Rite Aid a shot. read more
