Avoid this store at all costs. I've been going there for years. I signed up for the app and had some points. I redeemed a free small coffee reward at the app and scanned it at the register, per the app's instructions. The Asian American lady told me I owed her money even though the app said I get a free coffee. I explained it should be free through the app. Then a middle eastern or Indian clerk replaced her. You could catch a cold from the icy personalities of these employees. My mixed feelings of before were settled yesterday whe I made the decision never again to give them my money. I work too hard to support a business with employees as rude as this location. I went in to purchase some scratchers - not for me, I put them in birthday cards for friends! I went to pay with my debit card and was told this isn't allowed. I told the woman I purchase these all the time. It's fine as long as you use debit (like CA$H) rather than credit. She very, very rudely (and I'm pretty patient) told me how she'd been working there six months and it's not allowed. I replied that I would go somewhere else then and received a snotty remark about how I should. And so I did. Cork and Bottle on Treat allowed me to use my debit card. The Chevron next door to them did also. If that's their new policy at this location; fine. This 7-11 is a little off the main road from my normal morning routine, but in a bind, I'll venture over here for beverages before work. It's also our go-to spot before weekend road trips. It's a run of the mill 7-11 but relatively clean and usually well stocked. Sometimes, it seems like the saddest place on earth. To be more specific, there have been Sunday mornings I'll stop in to grab the newspaper and at 7:45 a.m. some poor soul will be in there buying a six pack of beer, lotto tickets and some beef jerky. This 7-11 serves it's purpose-nothing really spectacular about it. However, minus 1 star because on the weekday mornings there is one cashier who TERRIFIES me. I came in here during the summer for a Slurpee with my nieces and nephew. Unfortunately, the Slurpee machine was tough to operate because the handles for each flavor were stuck : ( There were 4 employees behind the counter chatting, so I asked one if they could help me. When I saw that she had to pull the handle with all of her might, I understood that I would be the one who would need to pour the Slurpees. No kid could use that machine! One bright spot was that when I needed to use a coupon on the mobile app, the same employee was able to check it out with the manager who had just come into the back office. (The 7 Eleven app is pretty awesome for deals. A standard 7-Eleven, this location is very bright and clean, and was very well stocked when I visited after having lunch next door. I do agree with several other reviewers there, the workers were fairly intimidating as I waited in line to purchase. While no one was outwardly rude, the workers absolutely have SCOWLS on their faces. While I don't require smiles with my soda purchase, it doesn't feel me with any urgency to return. There is something sinful about having a 7-eleven just across the street. The convenience is addicting. Need a quick drink? Something before you head off to work? forgot something for the recipe? Really folks, a 1-star review of 7-11? Come on! 7-11 by it's very nature is a 1 or 2 star joint, so you need to be fair and rate it based on what you expect from this type of business. So, with that, I'll say that this location is about average for the convenience stores I'm used to.
