Today April 26,2026, I stopped here to make a purchase and to my dismay I developed car problems unexpectedly. I dispatched BMW Roadside service for a tow, and as I was waiting for a tow truck arrival, a female clerk walked out to my distressed vehicle and informed me to leave. She then stated if I don't leave within five minutes she will call the Walnut Creek Police. I informed her that my vehicle is inoperable and I am awaiting a tow truck arrival and the time of arrival is out of my hands. She repeatedly stated that she would call the Walnut Creek Police as she's only giving me twenty minutes more. My response was: " Call the police!" I have three receipts showing that I am a customer who made multiple store purchases. I then asked her: " what if you were stranded with an inoperable car, or better yet, what if your mother, father or other loved one were stranded, would you be ok if the situation were reversed?" She was an East African female who then walked away! I am in total disbelief that she would even make such a threat to me, especially since I am a Black American male stranded here in Walnut Creek, California as it's approaching 7:15pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but I drove pass the other day, and $4.69/Reg isn't cheap....it's average for the SF Bay Area. This gas station sits at a prime location, has limited pumps, tight spaces, and a little food mart. This Chevron is your basic "get gas and leave" setup. If you choose to park and hang around, you will plug up the already cramp gas station. The clerk always seems to be busy, and has no time for a customer. So I pay at the pump and leave. I have never asked to use the restroom. New to the area? WOW! I stopped into this gas station before I jumped on the freeway to work; convenient location. I was greeted by a young man named Brian. He was cheerful and polite. Miguel, his counterpart was working in the back stocking shelves. Brian left the cash register to go get change for me as this man walked in yelling and screaming as to where his workers were. I quickly let him know that his employee was helping me with change and that's why there was no one at the cash register. The way this man talk to his employees was disgraceful. I have never seen an owner walk into his establishment and start yelling at employees when he had no idea what was going on. No one should be treated that way!!! Whenever I'm in this area of Walnut Creek and have the "Oh crap! I need gas" moment. I always check out the Shell and this Chevron station on Ygnacio Valley. I had this moment happen last year and guess what? I went to this Chevron station. It's in a very busy intersection (Main and Ygnacio Valley). On top of that, It's usually the cheapest gas around here. But of course like I said, I would also check the Shell just a block-ish away since they sometimes have the cheapest. So lines here can get long during peak times and the station is small so it can get a little crazy. Getting out of the station can get hairy if you want to get back onto 680 South, but I've always been patient enough for this. I could not tell you why they have 3 Chevrons pretty much right next to each other, but one of them is always 20+ cents cheaper per gallon than every other Chevron in the east bay. I always come here for the cheapest Chevron gas if I am around Moraga for school or driving back from Berkeley/Oakland/Lamorinda back home to San Ramon. I really don't get it. But I won't complain! Wait time is never bad, usually no wait to be honest. Spending a weekend at the nearby hotel and I felt inclined to write this yelp review because of the outstanding customer service I just experienced as I stopped in for snacks. The man working the register, I believe his name was Gary, was so friendly and kind! I don't think I've ever chopped it up so well with a cashier before??? He went out of his way to let my partner know about the sparkling/non-sparkling apple juice options and even offered spoons for our pint of ice cream and cereal cup. Review #154 - 2019 I've been to this gas station on many occasions when we're out in Walnut Creek & they do have the best gas prices in town. I don't think I've ever been here when there's not a long line; and, of course, we know well why it's always crowded. Although, it's a pretty small spot so getting in & out of here can be a pain during peak hours because you're pretty much blocked in from both entrance/exit. Whenever I come to Walnut Creek and need to get gas, I will go to the Shell Gas station which is like a block or two away from this gas station or I go to this one. I find that they are both the same prices in regards to the REGULAR fuel. A cool thing about this gas station is that it's close to the freeway. Now, I live in Fremont but sometimes I try to work my gas strategically so that I can get the gas out here. After I bought gas, I asked to use the restroom. Asian lady said that they didn't have one. I thought this was a violation of the health code. This is a very busy gas station for a reason; the prices. Very friendly staff that has been there for years. Recently they have added a few new staff members. After 10:00 p.m. you have to pay at the window. For those of you who are wary of using credit cards at the pump, they have a secondary option of using your credit card inside with the cashier. Or just pay with cash and ask for a receipt : ) When the gas tanker is there, getting in and out can be tougher than usual. I have been here twice recently because it was the cheapest in Walnut Creek! Surprise! Surprise! I would never have expected that because: 1. it's Chevron! They're not usually the cheapest because supposedly their gas has "techron," (no clue what exactly that is -- marketing ploy!?), so supposedly it's better gas. And, I guess supposedly you're supposed to pay more for that. 2. of Location! This location is surrounded by other gas stations on busy Ygnacio Valley Rd and it's near the freeway and downtown. Cheap gas surprisingly! $3.65/gal last week. This location is 24 hours, accepts credit card and doesn't charge you more for that convenience. The Cash and Credit prices are the same! Awesome. I don't like that's it's tricky to get back on Ygnacio Valley Road heading toward BART & the freeway. But, for cheaper gas, it's worth the hassle of a U-turn. read more

I have always purchase lotto from this gas station, one of the staff didn't listen carefully and bought the wrong amount of lotto, I said $6 and he thought I want 6 groups. I have never had any problems with other staffs but only this guy. And he blame me not telling him 6 DOLLARS which I always do. Maybe he didn't hear clearly becoz of the mask and the plastic shield in front of him. But he could have confirm with me just like how the other staff did. I asked the attendant if I could use the restroom and she said it doesn't work. Then moments later a man walked in with his son and she escorted him to the restroom. I asked her if now that she has it open and it is magically repaired could I use it. She said she only opened it because it was for a kid. I asked if I grab my son would she let me use it then to which she replied "It's a very small bathroom". I asked her for the station's phone number and her name. She gave me a fake number!! This Chevron is on the corner of Main Street and Ygnacio Valley Road. Getting in, out and navigating in their lot, is tough. It's very narrow and cramped and lacking the upgrades of other Chevron "extra mile" shops in the area. I have worked right down the street from this Chevron for over a decade, and I always like coming here! Truth be told, because of the busy location in the heart of many office buildings in Walnut Creek, its generally not the cheapest gas around. But sometimes you just need someplace convenient to filler up, and that's what I can count on with this location. People inside the store are always very friendly, and I've heard them give great directions to asking customers. My only gripe is that sometimes I assume employees kinda loiter outside and will approach you a bit too aggressively about a cleaning product they are trying to sell. I'm sure it works great but they are WAY too pushy, and should be more aware of the fact that people using this station are likely on the work clock and don't have time to sample products or shoot the breeze. read more

If I'm passing thru Walnut Creek, I will always come by this gas station to fill up. It almost always has the lowest prices on Premium fuel in the area. Only downside to this location is getting back on the freeway exiting this station. Beware of credit card skimmer. I hate to do this to a small business, but after I complained to the gas attendant that I noticed several hologram seals were broken and to alert their manager, she gave me lip service that everything was fine, and she went ahead and removed all the hologram seals. I can now affirmatively say that immediately after I charged my credit card to get gas that I have a ton of fraudulent credit card purchases on my card. I've gone to this gas station a few times when going on 680 to Fremont. I have always had bad experiences with this gas station. First of all they don't sell ice inside the mart there. Also, the staff is very unhelpful and they always seem unhappy inside. Always one of the pumps seem to not be functioning correctly. This is a gas station that I don't recommend you stop.
