There are three gas stations on this corner and I always go to the mobile because you can drive up easily and get your gas. It has a cheap rate almost like Costco. It could have a better store at the store is not that great. It's too small. They do have a smog station there too. I highly recommend it because it's very easy to go there and then hit kaiser or Whole Foods or Paris baguette or any place that you want. It's all on the same side the street. read more

Out of the three gas stations at this intersection, they provide the best quality gas. I personally have only come here when incredibly low and didn't fill my tank up all the way because I needed just enough tot get back home. It's Walnut Creek so the prices are incredibly more expensive than some other gas stations ten miles away. You can't call it a true value in the neighborhood as literally each gas station charges the exact same amount. It's a matter of just selecting the best option for your vehicle. The gas pump registered "$4.69".... I asked the clerk to re-set the machine for the cash price of "$4.59" and he replied "they are the same price". I went here for a car wash and fuel. I got my wash receipt x2 (gas pump and car wash) my truck was in neutral and rolled forward a bit during the wash. Subsequently, the machine paused!? But after waiting for an hour for my normal got to place across the street from Trader Joe's (the guy there carried on a 25 minute conversation with the owner of the car in front of me not even thinking about backing out his car and starting another job while he completes the conversation. I was incredibly low on gasoline, and I NEVER should've done that. The minute the dial gets close to an E, refuel; do NOT wait for the fuel light to come on to be your indicator. In addition, make sure you are cool, calm, and collected. Sometimes personal stress leads to mistakes... of course, that doesn't reserve the right for the employee to be rude to their customers for something like that. There was no time for me to go to my usual Chevron station, so I ended up at this place. I went inside to pay for my gasoline as opposed to processing my payment at the pump. Because I was under so much stress I accidentally hit the "Supreme" button instead of the "Regular". Thank goodness I realized it before I pumped my car with that gasoline. Unfortunately, I foolishly put the hose back in the pump. However, I did go back to the employee to tell him that I made a mistake, but before I could tell him anything, he scolded me for putting the hose back into the pump, and said, "you don't do that! You need to make a change, you come and see me." I calmly explained, "that is the reason why I walked in here", but before I could go further, he continued to berate me in front of another customer. If my gas tank wasn't so dangerously low, I would've taken my car elsewhere so I wouldn't have to put up with that jerk. I went back to him and said, "I have HEARD you loud and clear! I have made a mistake, which I am owning up to! MOVE ON!!!" He refunded me the previous transaction, then repurchased fuel for my needs, and this time, I pressed the "Regular" button. You know, everyone makes mistakes, which is the beauty of being human, and if it happens, always own up to it no matter what. However, that doesn't give an employee the right to scold their customers when a mistake is made or berate them for it either. You won't catch me at this gas station again. read more

brought my car in for a smog test. while the test was going on I went into the little store to look around. the man inside chased me out very rudely saying that only customers can come in. he shooed me out and made me sit in a car inspection space and showed me a dirty chair to sit on. I was not happy with that answer I'm not going to waste my time calling the number on the box. I came here for the convenient location and I desperately needed a car wash. The gentleman who runs (he could be the owner) the place was fantastic. He saw that I had boxes in the back of my car that needed recycling and offer to recycle them. When I asked if his car wash was working he actually came and set it up for me and everything. NO sense that there are 2 other gas stations on that corner where I can spend my money, and a Chevron just a couple more blocks up if I want to get away from the monopoly those 3 have on gas on that corner... I ran out of gas, walked here and bought a gas can. when I went to the pump to fill it up, it leaked, it had a big crack in it. I ran inside and told the clerk, an older lady, and she didn't give a FUCK. She yelled at me, and told me to get the leaky gas can out of the office. I told her she sold me a defective product. I wanted her to let me pour the gas remaining into one of the other cans they had for sale. she wouldn't let me. she threatened to call the police. I asked who the owner was, she told me she already called him and I can't call him. She refused to tell me his information. I work at Kaiser right there, and often fill up for gas on that corner when I'm low on gas for the ride home. And I always go to the yellow (shell) one. This is a Mobil gas station - at the south corner of Newell and S. California next to Kaiser. I love this gas station. I've been here a handful of times and EVERY SINGLE TIME they are so thoughtful - once, when I was 7mos pregnant, I got out of the car to get gas and the owner ran out and insisted on pumping my gas for me. Another time, I went to fill my vespa tires with air but didn't have enough quarters for the air machine and the man in the office turned it on for me anyway - they are scooter tires, so they aren't that big - but such a nice gesture. It's always clean and well lit - they invested in a car wash and clearly want to be a positive contributor to the neighborhood. Because of this, I always try to go there when I need gas or suggest it to my neighbors and friends in the area. Thank you! read more

I drove up to get gas and was attempting to work the old pumps (dated technology). I wasn't able to figure it out so I cancelled the transaction. At that point, the man comes running out of the store apparently desperate to make a sale. He takes my card, works me through the whole situation but was very condescending the whole time. I guess he assumes that everybody should fully understand how to work a dated gas pump. Anyways, there are plenty of other options to get gas in the area, so I recommend you do that. Shahab here is great and a good business man. They have an inexpensive car wash which is convenient. The place is clean and he stands out front greeting his clients. There's no speakers overhead the pumps so he sets up a classy little boom box amp deal and plays his Sting music for himself and his clients. Rude rude rude! I put $40 in my tank and paid $1.99 for a candy bar. Took one bite and spit it out. Walked back inside and told them it tasted bad, and asked for a refund. The idiot at the counter looked it over then pointed out the exp. Date 10/2014. I then noticed and pointed out that it was probably bad because they kept the candy display against the front glass. It had probably had several days where it had been heated up and then cooled down. Then, I guess, the idiot owner, came over and and then started to show me the exp date. I said, I don't care about the exp date, you stored it wrong, the item tastes bad, I want a refund. He proceeds to act like a dumb ass. I threw the candy down and left the store.
