Second rude experience with young lady at pharmacy drive thru with dark hair who needs to improve her customer service skills. Here's some hints: 1. Open the window when a car drives up, is too difficult to communicate over a mic and speaker through a closed window. 2. Open the window and hand the prescription to the customer. Depending on vehicle, can be difficult to grab prescription from drawer and shouldn't have to open the door. 3. Don't just walk away and leave the shelf hanging open -- thank the customer. That's basic good manners. Otherwise, the pharmacy and employees, including the drive thru, have always been helpful and courteous in the past and prescriptions have been refilled on time. read more

Extremely poor communication and logistics. I was notified that the pharmacy ran out of my scheduled vaccine only after I was already driving to the appointment. Furthermore, the staff provided inaccurate information regarding a prescription, claiming it hadn't been sent when the issue was actually a discontinued version they couldn't fill. Lack of clarity wasted my time, and can't get this out of my mind. Was it personal? "Other people need it" comment bugs my mind. read more

It's nothing exciting. Yet they do have the box of water, that's more interesting than bottled water. No worries as they have those too, along with sodas and beers. Occasionally CVS will have great sales on allergy medications. That's when I'm especially happy. They also can have deals on store brand Advils and the like. This one can be a little busy. That's due to its location. Yet they do have a drive thru pharmacy. That alone can save time. It's a place to grab a few odds and ends, although for bulk Wally World and other retailers are cheaper. 11/19/22 After getting dinner from Vivi Bubble Tea, I remembered I needed to pick up some antihistamine medication. Luckily I came across some Claritin non-drowsy 24 hour medication. I recently broke out in hives and this medication helped keep me from literally scratching the skin off my body. This store is one I do not visit very often, but it sue came in handy yesterday on my way home. This store was well stocked and organized. Black santas greeted me at the door. This time around while visiting a CVS Pharmacy, I saw no left over Halloween items. I did see there is a doggie Mobile for ffg dogs to get their hair cut. Maybe cats too. An odd play for this set up, but a good place too. I saw The Minute Clinic was open fir business and the song I Need A Doctor came into my head. I did not sing the lyrics out loud. It had been a long day, but this store will be one I stop by at should I need something else in this location. Update: for being nearly brand new, this is the worst CVS. There's at least one item I need out of stock every time I come. I've started driving slightly further away in the opposite direction to go to the CVS on Little River and Backlick. That's a WAY better CVS. I tend to prefer CVS to other pharmacies. This location however is ALWAYS out of common things like distilled water, juice, shampoos, etc. I've never had the experience of a CVS being so chronically out if items. I've started going to one further away first because I've had such regular experiences with the store not having any of the items I needed which meant I ended up going to another store anyway. Could not be worse. They give appointments and walk ins but treat all the same. So if someone theoretically comes in and has no appointment but they check in before you and have a rather complex case, they will see that person first and make you wait for a one minute flu shot. Happened to me twice in a period of two weeks. They have one screen to sign in and have a bunch of useless "helpers" running around asking to assist you but they can't really do anything to help you. The concierge person was cool letting me stand for an extended period even though I told her I was in bed rest. Then she proceeds to tell me that next time I should schedule it through the pharmacy but since I'm already there and checked in I should just stay the course. After I had been there for 15 minutes, I wasn't interested in waiting any longer. read more

The pharmacy department is just terrible. They'll tell me prescriptions are ready for pickup, but they won't have them when I show up. They've refused to fill brand new prescriptions, because "it's out of refills." I'll get random text messages asking me to pick up prescriptions that I didn't ask to have refilled. The list goes on. My daughter spent over two hours waiting at the minute clinic. The provider, Rachel Otto, decided to go on an hour and a half break. She refused to see my daughter which would have taken maybe one minute. She talked and treated my daughter like trash. She had no compassion and was VERY rude. A different cvs minute-clinic in the area closed the morning of my appointment, therefore canceling it (I received an email about my appointment cancellation). Worst Pharmacy I've been to. Looks like many feel the same checking reviews here. DO NOT GO HERE. My doctor accidentally sent to wrong CVS. Anyway, hijab wearing counter person was nice but the pharmacist was just rude and didn't want to be bothered with. I was just asking this pharmacist if insurance was applied because of high price. And she was rude, unfriendly, didn't want to be bothered....basically said go check with your insurance and then she just throws my prescription on the back desk. I ended up calling my doctor to send another prescription to Giant instead. And Giant pharmacist there was so friendly and even advised me of using GoodRx instead for additional discount... and ended up paying around $8. Otherwise, at this lousy CVS Pharmacy, I would have paid $190. BTW, I tried to call CVS later to cancel that prescription more than 5 times...but no one picked up. Anyway, I'm sure they are busy but still that is just very poor customer service. I don't plan to change my pharmacy, CVS, because where I go normally are nice people. If only my doctor didn't accidentally send my prescription to this wrong cvs, would have been better day. One more thing....as I've over heard waiting. Lady front of me asked of her prescriptions that she called in yesterday. This same pharmacist said we don't have the order and questioning her if she did call in. And that it'll be done hour later. I've come here for two and a half years and have given it a lot of chances to do better. However, after waiting a while to make sure my experiences weren't due to their employees having an off day, I am confident that there are consistent patterns of poor service. *please note that this review is for the pharmacy only. The front cashiers have always been great* Working in the healthcare field requires a specific set of responsibilities and obligations to provide care to your patients and treat them with dignity and respect. The pharmacy staff at this CVS do not hold this skill set. They are consistently condescending, irritable, and poor communicators towards their customers. Simple questions regarding insurance, refill requests, and medication information are routinely met with inappropriate, snappy, and rude answers. They are unhelpful and so blatantly disrespectful that I've long avoided calling or going in to speak to them unless I absolutely have to. No healthcare professional should make their customers/patients dread asking questions, or make their customers feel stupid (which, I regularly do when speaking to pharmacy staff). While waiting for medications to be filled, I have witnessed them disrespect elderly customers on several occasions. In addition, they typically take longer than usual to fill new prescriptions, so expect to sit around for a long time and wait to receive them. After long time debating, I plan on switching pharmacies. I dragged my feet on it because it is conveniently located, but it's no longer worth it. read more

This is one of the newest CVS around and is conveniently near NVCC. This is good news for students, faculty, and visitors especially when one needs things but does not want to be stuck in traffic. We all know how horrible traffic can be in Virginia. This CVS is clean and organized. However, it was missing some essential things or perhaps, they were not easy to find. This CVS may not be as busy as its sister stores in the mornings but there needs to be someone at the register. I have already been there twice and twice no one manning the check-outs. It's a shame this is the closest cvs to us because we are never coming back here. The pharmacists are terribly slow. I dropped off my husband's post operation prescriptions, and was told it would be 2 hours before they are ready. I came back 2.5 hours later, and they were still not ready. Waited around for 10 more minutes to find out they don't even have the meds at this location. Now I'm on the third trip to CVS tonight to get these meds filled.. sigh.. Just terrible read more

We have received exceptional service from this pharmacy staff for years! They know me and my family, and go above and beyond to help us. On more than one occasion, they have spoken with our insurance company and doctors' offices to help coordinate coverage. They even look for ways to reduce our costs without our asking. Most importantly, when one of my daughters accidentally left an essential medication at home when returning to college last year, Jacob worked with us, with her, and with the school pharmacy that night to get her medication to her the following day. Even though we moved a little farther away last year, I gladly drive the extra 15 minutes for the level of care we have received here. read more

I had a covid test appointment on the 25th of Nov, worst customer service ever. When you pull in they have signs telling you to go around to the big parking lot right in front and there's a sign that says dont go into cvs, wait here, so i waited 30min, my appointment was at 5:30pm, nobody came, i go in and ask what is going on, the lady tells me she txt me to pull around to the right of the building but i nvr got the txt so i ask why didn't she call me instead and she just shrugs her shoulders and tells me "its 6pm now im off the clock but you can talk to my manager" she calls the manager and the manager doesnt even talk to me she just ask the worker "you txted him right? Well you got no response he'll just have to reschedule". I need this test to go back to work, honestly dont know why i have to miss more days cause of their mistake! read more

Why can't I give this store zero stars? I arrived this evening to go to the minute clinic for a sinus infection at 4:55PM. One lady was signing in ahead of me with her son. Within 5 minutes I went to the kiosk and began signing in. The tab across the bottom said 50% complete when, the machine was reset! Shortly afterward a rude guy came out from the Minute Clinic and said "we're closed!" Meaning "Go Away!" There was ONE patient in front of me and their posted hours said until 5:30, but they SHUT THE KIOSK DOWN WHILE I WAS SIGNING IN! Incredibly NOT costumer friendly. I needed to pick up a prescription and the pharmacist insisted it wasn't a medication that existed when I showed her on my phone she said it must be something people get from Amazon . It is a prescription only iron supplement and I am a physician! It's not even my first time being talked to in that manner at this pharmacy. So today i had the worst pharmacy experience ever... I dropped off a written prescription at this location at 11 am. I told them i'd be back at 4 pm for it. When I arrived at 5 pm they had no record of the prescription I had given them earlier in the day and told me my doctor had not called it in. I then pointed out the individual that had been provided with my hand written prescription who was still working in the pharmacy. It was only when I told them that I was not leaving until they either gave me my written prescription back or filled it that they became a little more helpful - suddenly they were willing to help. Apparently they filled my prescription under someone else's name which is why they had no record of it. How incompetent are these people? I'm half tempted to file a complaint with the Virginia Department of Health. I then had to wait another 20 minutes for my prescription and received absolutely no apology of any kind for the inconvenience. This location is epically bad. Avoid it if you can. read more

I am 72 years old and wanted to get the new shingles vaccine. The pharmacy staff could not have more professional, helpful and friendly. I was there less than a half hour. I completed the paper work with the help of one of the pharmacy techs, waited for a few minutes and the pharmacist gave me the vaccine. I can't believe I still go to this pharmacy. It's always something different. They may promise your prescription will be ready in an hour, but takes two or more instead. Newest to the list of awful service is their POS system is down. The lady in the pharmacy said this happens a lot. I work in retail and this has happened to me once out of the 10+ years in this sector. I asked if she could check to see if my prescriptions had been filled. She tells me she can't check because the POS system is down. I didn't know the point of sale system was linked to looking up prescriptions and such.... So I then ask if she could walk over and see if there were any prescriptions ready. She still says she couldn't do that because the system was down. I just needed to know if they were or not or else I would try filling at another CVS. She couldn't even walk over to check. Really? Couldn't walk a couple feet to check? Literally the worst pharmacy I've been to and have gone to out of convenience. But don't get me wrong, the retail side of things is fine, but maybe they should hire better qualified people in the pharmacy. They were impatient & borderline rude on the phone a couple months ago. This time, I attempted to have a prescription which had been filled at a nearby CVS transferred here. Spoke to a young woman via phone who took 10+ min. to accomplish this common request, during which time she mistakenly told me my insurance had been rejected (It had already gone through at the other CVS), and repeatedly left me hanging in silence without explanation. This CVS does not even deserve one star. I came to this store for urgent care at the MinuteClinic, made an appointment but still had to wait 1/2 before the practitioner came out of her office. Without apologizing for running late, she was extremely rude with an attitude. Asking for a manager serves you no good either because the manager is clueless and kept saying that they don't have anything to do with the clinic. The pharmacy people are absolutely clueless as well. Bunch of robots that can only do one thing. Picked up a prescription on the way home from this CVS. Opened the bag with the pill bottle and thought it looked a bit light. I counted the pills in the bottle - 12 of them. They were supposed to give 21. Simple mistake? No. I called the pharmacist who said "was I sure I counted them right,", and then after admitting the mistake, said I could pick them up "free of charge." I already paid for it!
