It's nothing exciting. Yet all of us need a prescription or over the counter medication here and there. This store also has an abundance of chocolates and candies. One thing I wish they'd change, is not to sell cigarettes or other tobacco products. CVS was correct in doing that. Having carcinogens at a drug store seems odd. Yet to its credit the store is clean and organized. Also like the fact it's not crazy busy. That can make it far more relaxing. Their prices tend to be cheaper than their main competitor. How is it that I put a rx in on Thursday morning, the automated system tells me it'll be ready to pick up on Saturday at 11, and then it's "not ready" on late Tuesday afternoon? And while I'm standing in line, I get a text that it's not ready, days after it should be. And I waited in line for a while just to confirm. Walgreens in general are such a waste of space. read more

This pharmacy sucks. I went there on a Friday evening at 8 to pick a prescription that was called in at 4. First they told me it was never called in, then after about 20 minutes and me calling the VA, to get answers, they somehow magically found it. During that process I signed up for texts. The next day, I got a prescription at 10AM from INOVA, and I went home to pick it up later when they had plenty of time to fill it. I finally went back after waiting ALL DAY I finally went there to see what was up. That's when they told me my insurance was not accepted and that I would have to pay $700! I asked how was it possible that they weren't accepting my insurance when I just picked up a prescription the day before. She just threw up her hands and said "have a nice day." And accused me of yelling. When I told her I wasn't even yelling she came back and started showing me something on her computer, which I couldn't see. I asked again how was it possible and all she said was that it would be $700. Shortly after I left, someone there called me and I called back and was on hold for 20 minutes. The lady answered (there were only two people there) and she put me on hold for another 5 minutes and the pharmacist answered, and he denied calling me too. He suggested it was an "automated call." Yeah? So why didn't I get one of those automated calls yesterday? This pharmacy is the worst. They're not even helpful. I might note that this lady was rude to the man in front of me too. She had such a nasty attitude towards him. She just seemed like she didn't like or care about people. You're in customer SERVICE lady. Find another job if you don't like sick people. read more

Absolutely ridiculous! I called pharmacy this morning waited in hold for 15 min and they picked up the call and hung up! I then called right back and the phone just rang and rang. I began to get frustrated and then asked my coworker to call using her phone and they picked up her called and hung up on her as well. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. An excellent Walgreens store. The Pharmacy department staff go out of their way to help with preselections. The store staff are always inquiring if you have found everything. (Sometimes a bit too much, but better than the opposite!) The store is well stocked with brand and house items. We use this Walgreens for prescriptions, paper products, candy (watch for the specials), greeting cards, gift cards, and some food items. This was a new drug store that I had never been to, until today. I knew what I wanted the second that I walked in, and that as the Pelligrino sparkling water. Even though apparently thy only carry the small size, it still worked for me. They have a promotion going on now which is 2 fo $3.00 which seemed like a pretty good deal, so I bought boh. It was nice though hat they sell most of the common grocery items in the first two rows. They also have a complete isle dedicated to Halloween candy, go figure! I was surely tempted tho! I didn't know that candy con was so popular! At any rate, I walked out with the mineral water, and a candy corn hat! Good deets! read more

I have started to appreciate Walgreens over CVS. Walgreens is cleaner, bigger, wonderful staff in the Springfield (on Old Keene Mill Road) location. I find this store very easy to shop, I use the pharmacy as well and the staff there is nice. I even got my FLU shot there, and the Asian pharmacy tech gave me the BEST flu shot ever. I didn't even feel the needle go in, he was very gentle. All in all, I'm a Walgreens fan for life (hopefully). Lastly, they still accept TRICARE and CVS has DROPPED TRICARE (boooo) read more

Walgreens is a great place to grab any snacks, pharmaceuticals, or typical last minute supplies. It's decently sized, but well organized so you'll have no problem finding what you need quickly. And yes, as everyone has said, they also have a pharmacy in which you can fill out & pick up prescriptions. It's convenient, we get it. Now, what no one seems to have mentioned yet is this place's candy selection. It is truly ballin! Stop worrying about medical prescriptions & the restrictions of life and let your inner child run free! You can actually pick up a lot of candy here that isn't available at more common stores in the area like Giant & CVS. I go here to buy Zours & other sour candies, which they often have pretty good sales on too. The Walgreens' store brand 'Nice', is also pretty decent. I've tried some of their snacks (Fudge Mint Cookies) and Almonds before, and was quite satisfied. read more

The photo section is not great. I ordered pictures online & was promised they'd be ready the end of that day. Got there the next day & was informed they had none of my prints ready. They were out of 4x6 (I ordered over 20) & didn't even think to call me that the order wouldn't be fulfilled for a few more days? The other prints she couldn't find, but it took her 10 minutes to tell me that she couldn't find them. Definitely not going to be ordering pictures here again. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. My dog, my baby started having seizures, managed them for awhile but them last week he had 2 in 11 hours which is alarming. After a night in ICU and a recommendation from a great vet we put him on anti-seizure meds and sent him home with a weeks worth of meds. Today we took him to our vet for a check up so she could refill the prescription as he seems to be doing quite well. Went to Walgreens to pick up a 1 months supply and the cost was $432.99. I love my baby and would have figured it out...but that's outrageous. Came home looked online and quickly discovered that I paid for the name brand, generic is less than $30 per month. Why wouldn't you call me to give me the option? Both my husband and I took a 20% salary reduction due to COVID so money is tight. Needless to say you have lost my business. read more

The pharmacy at this location is amazing! Scott, the main pharmacist, is always super helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. The young woman who works in the pharmacy during the day on weekdays is incredibly nice and funny. I've always had a hard time getting ahold of my doctor to talk about my medications and when I told her about this, she made it her mission to track him down and get my questions answered! I've never had an experience like this at the Giant, CVS, or Target pharmacies around here. The cashiers are also generally helpful and their photo ordering system is efficient. read more

We've been using this Walgreens for prescriptions since they opened, always very satisfied. Love their text message notification service for prescriptions. They have pretty much anything you could need and then some. But their people are really the best. They often go the extra mile. Today I was looking for an iron supplement and I need chewable or liquid due to absorption issues. Kelly helped me at the vitamin shelf and when nothing satisfactory was there she went to the pharmacist to discuss what options would be available there. The pharmacist ordered a liquid supplement for me, then called me later in the day to let me know the one we discussed was not available and went over other options. This is really not all that unusual for them. Anytime I need assistance they are great, the cashiers point out additional opportunities for savings, etc. read more

I just switched to the Walgreens Pharmacy after using Giant Pharmacy Cardinal Forest for a few years. Overall, I was able to get in and get my prescription pretty quickly. They were not out of the medication. It was not overcrowded. I am happy with Walgreens Pharmacy so far over Giant and CVS in the area. read more

Pharmacy is great and pharmacists are super helpful. So much better than the CVS. Scott (the pharmacist) is great, I hope he never leaves but the others are good too. As far as their selection and specials, it's ok. Both Walgreens and CVS are pricey, in my opinion. Walgreens seems to have more food and a better selection of candy. read more

I have always liked Walgreens over most other pharmacies. I am not sure why, it was just my preference. This location is not any different. The pharmacy staff are really nice. They are also quick so complaints from me. The selection in the store is pretty good although my wife says that the selection of hair products sucks. The prices aren't bad and I have found that the store brand products are actually really good. The Nice dried mango's are really inexpensive and delicious. They also have bacon jerky, maple bacon jerky at that. My wife preferred it over other brands. I have also had some other store brand products and they were really good. The rewards program is also a great deal so why not come here? read more

The only reason I gave this place a 2 starts is because of the nice lady that worked there. The manager was not so friendly I went in when i was sick I needed a car charger seen they had them on sale for 15 we to pay for all my stuff and of course it ranged up $30. I told the lady where I found it and there was 15 more there of the same kind the manager gave her a hard time and said someone placed them there by mistake they lady made him give me the price but he was so rude to her I felt bad. read more

Very nice staff but their pharmacy inventory seems to be very limited. I am moving my prescriptions to another pharmacy as way too often this Walgreen's is "out of stock" on common meds and their back order process can take days. read more

It's a very long story, but this Walgreens ended up triple-charging my insurance for medication that I had picked up at an entirely separate Walgreens. While this other Walgreens is not excused for their part and will also receive a one-star review, the Springfield Walgreens has played a big part in maxing out my insurer's contributions this month and me not being able to get my prescriptions filled. read more
