I have shopped at Harris Teeter for several years, mostly because it's close to my house. Some things have bothered me for a while, however. They have a very poor bakery. They have no fresh bagels, and the cinamon rolls I bought some time back were inedible. Truly bad. Then, last night, I thought I'd try one of their pizzas. I took one bite and threw the rest of it away. Not just bad. I couldn't eat it. The produce department needs some work as well. Of the past 20 times that I went to get bananas, I could only find green bananas once. They are usually so ripe that if I don't plan to eat them the day of purchase, it would be pointless to buy them. It's sad, but I think I'll have to do most of my shopping at Giant. read more

This is my go-to store when something is needed. Their store is kept clean and tidy. Everything is usually in-stock and very easy to find. Check-out is usually fairly quick. Staff always seems content or happy, never flustered, mad, or disappointed. Staff are always very helpful when asked to assist with something. Decent prices on everything in-store. I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken from the deli section. The staff there are amazing and will let you know how long until the food is ready so you can come back or hang around and get it fresh. This deli sections "Boar's Head" meats display looked amazing, and was possibly the best display I have seen in a store for quite some time. The packages were all orderly and in nice rows, with nothing out of place. The TV above the display played a nice and cheerful product informational clip, and was very welcoming and clean. read more

I like this location because of the ease of access to get there from Galveston Rd. The store is always clean, the flowers are always fresh. For most part, every time I come here they have exactly what I am looking for as well as something that just happens to catch my eye. Sales prices are always good and they accept coupons which is a plus! Staff is always friendly and helpful if necessary. If you use the app and have a VIC card you can also add coupons to your card to be redeemed in store. For those on the go, you can order your groceries online and use their ExpressLane service and just pick up your groceries. You can even order subs, bakery goods and deli items online as well. read more

Harris Teeter has a great selection of products, however a bit on the pricier side when compared to other stores like say, Wal-Mart super center. I however love their fresh variety of ready to eat foods, especially when you are on the run and are looking for quick lunch time meals. I also love their beer and alcohol selection. They have quite a variety of craft brews and wines to choose from. They also have an on-site pharmacy for all your prescription needs. It was busy in the store and I was standing in line, waiting patiently. All registers had similar waiting lines. When one employee quickly comes out and just shuts the line down that I had been waiting in for at least 20 minutes. Didn't have any courtesy or professionalism to say anything to those of us waiting in the line and quickly walked off. Not the first time I've experienced bad service and unprofessional employees at this store. It will be the last. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on & tell everyone I come across to not shop at this store. read more

The many times I've gotten tla soup, the flavors were either 'off' and/or had too much sodium, so I'm done trying that here. Harris Teeter is not longer 24/7 and I get that. They do open rather early at 6 am. I decided that I would swing in to this location on my way to work this morning to pick up 2 cases of water. I am not sure when they decide to open a register but around 6:30 am they make you utilized the self check out. Sure but cases of water are not intended to be lifted and dragged across scanner. the two people I could see weren't really all that busy so my thinking is that they could assist and just punch the SKU number in. Why work harder. Not the case. This lady came over. seemed a little peeved I disturbed her. Grabbed each of the water cases and slammed threw them across the scanner and then, not very carefully, threw them back in the cart. this person must be having a really crappy morning and I get that, some people aren't morning people. She seemed to be taking her frustration out on the water. Regardless, the self checkout machine decided it need to talk to her again when I selected to pay. At this point, I had no desire to chat with this person who is evidently having a very bad day. I just decided to return the item to the isle which is where I realized that when she slammed the second case onto the first on she broke the cap to at least one of the cases of water. Look, Things happen and I understand there may have been a number of things that could be going on to put someone in that mood and I certainly hope she is okay. However, it is the impression that is being given to a loyal customer. There seems to be a lot of turnover at this store and it shows. read more

They didn't get the sale when we went back to show them they charged the card incorrectly they made the entire situation painful and long. Didnt even get the full refund. I am somewhat disappointed with how this Harris Teeter is shaping out to be. They used to be amazing! I remember coming here opening day with the store jammed packed and it was so for over a year. Unfortunately, this Harris Teeter is showing signs of slipping. They are taking away every sample. No more bread, meats, cheeses, fruits, or bakery. They don't even seem to have balloons for the kiddos! The staff have lost their personalities and only a few are helpful. General varieties are disappearing and the staff shrug it off. What happened to this place? I used to compare the store to Publix. Unfortunately, the prices in the store don't justify the experience whatsoever. I used to come in for the "buy two get three free deals". They were truly amazing and I always wondered how they made profit. Nowadays, prices are barely beating out other stores. For example, a pack of Pepsi cans now cost around $7.50. Also, just about every other store carries their own line of goods and are cheaper than the competition. Somehow, the Harris Teeter brand milk is higher price than the competition, named Highland Ranch (or something close). I don't know what's going on, but I am not really motivated to go to the store anymore. I hope that the management can step up their game, because right now they are not doing a good job. Luckily for Harris Teeter, they are still able to beat out some stores. Unfortunately, they are sitting at the same level as Food Lion. This is a newish HT that has everything you would expect. It is always nice and clean with great customer service. They have a quick pharmacy as well which makes it nice to drop of a prescription and when done shopping it is ready. One of the things I really like about this HT is that everyone who works there seems to go the extra step to help. Example: they moved the beer that I drink to another section in the case and I could not find it. I asked the customer service guys if they stopped ordering it and they paged the store manager who walked to the case and helped me find it and told he would make sure they continued to order it. Make sure you sign up for eVic to get all the discounts. They also will send you a weekly email of custom savings for you and yo can turn it into a shopping list. read more

Definately, not a store for bargain shoppers, but I do go for special items or just because I'm near there. This review is mainly for the new Pizza Station that they opened. The pizza was fresh and the service friendly (which I always receive when I go to this store). The slices were large and under $3 for many toppings. The texture was nice and soft (homemade). If you want flat and crispy -- go around the corner to Z-Pizza. Just saying... If you ever had what they call pizza at Wegmans and said that pizza was horrible -- I guarantee you will enjoy pizza at Harris Teeter. Umm so good! read more

I have been using this Harris Teeter as my pickup location for my Express Lane orders each week and have been very happy! First things first, I'm a huge fan of another local grocery store but with some changes taking place in our household I really needed the convenience of Express Lane. It has taken a load off my shoulders to know that no matter how crazy things are, we still get everything we need! Here's a few more specifics on why we give HT's Express Lane two big thumbs up... The process: Easy peasy! I absolutely love being able to sit at the computer with my meal planner in hand and select what we need. The website is very user friendly and I like being able to pull up my past orders and favorites to create my order. I also like having access to the circular and the VIP specials. It makes it so easy to grab what we need! Selection: While my other favorite store has a larger selection, I'm pretty impressed with HT. Their organic selections are growing, too which is nice to see. Pricing: Sure, some things are more expensive but some things are cheaper. Factor in coupons and sales and I'm spending about what I was before. Service: My personal shopper, Dylan is always very friendly by phone and calls to check substitutions with me before my scheduled pick up. Everyone who has ever loaded the groceries is also friendly and efficient. Bottom line: We will continue to use HT Express Lane for our larger shopping trips. The convenience is worth it 100% and I'm thrilled to have the service close by. read more

This store has been going though a management change over the last 9 months, I've been going there for over 11 years, since they opened. While the people who work there are nice and helpful. The new management is a disaster. The fresh produce department is full of vegetables and other products that rot in a day or two after getting it home. The shelves are not fully stocked and the stocking is done while customers are trying to shop, the aisle are always blocked, and now cashiers have been diminished. So the wait is like being in a Safeway. Now today I returned a can of whipped cream. The nozzle on the can broke when I trying to us it at dinner party. When trying to return the can the assistant manager did not want to take it back because I did not have a receipt. Then she accused me of using the whipped cream then trying to return the whipped cream. Over the last week I had to return two other cans of product that had problems with the nozzle. In the entire time I've been shopping I've never had management staff behave in such a manner. The old management was accommodating. NOT SHOPPING AT HARRIS TEETER any longer. read more

1) We pulled up at 8am on 6/26. We were in the 3rd from front parking space. While I was getting stuff together, I saw an older white guy in a black polo with Harris Teeter hat get our of the car parked in front of me. HE PARKED in front of the store, that is for customers NOT employees! The idiot was on the phone and what he did next I had to lock doors to keep hubby from beating the crap out of him. He's on his cell phone, FLICKS his cigarette INTO MY WINDSHIELD! Seriously?! His honda license is VOQ-8182. Tell him his an inconsiderate idiot! I should have left then but we were already there and had driven 30 MILES to go here. 2) Walked into produce and it was pathetic. I needed green onions, avocado and lettuce. UGH! The green onions were brown and withered, avocado's were white and fuzzy and the lettuce was black and limp. The produce person is an EMBARRASSMENT to the job. You can't even use the word "quality" because I've seen stuff in the trash in better condition. 3) We decide on some beer and a couple canned goods because the store wasn't stocked and it looked horrible. Hubby works for a competing chain and he remarked several times on the poor condition of the store. 4) We stand in line....and wait, and wait. Another young man came up because 5 of us were in line for over 20 minutes because Aquiles was the slowest, laziest, most inept cashier I've ever seen in 50 YEARS of life! I pulled out my cell and put the timer on. It took him 12.3 MINUTES to deal with ONE lady who had 3 plastic bags! SERIOUSLY?!?! We came in for a few items, which we didn't even get because of the pathetic quality offered and ended up spending over 45 minutes to by 5 items that should have taken no more than 20 minutes! COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. Since I had to drive 30 miles here, I'll go to Wegmans. Other than inconsiderate vendors at Wegman's we've NEVER had such an abominable experience. read more

Harris Teeter near Lake Ridge off of Hoadley Road. The Manassas address is kind of deceptive as it is much closer to Woodbridge. It's fairly new as it was constructed about five years ago. So it's clean and well-maintained. As with most HTs it's on the expensive side, but they are really good when it comes to their bakery, seafood and deli. The biggest plus for the locals is the fact that it is the only supermarket open 24 hours near Lake Ridge. read more

This store is conveniently located, so I'm here very often. The employees are wonderful! My girls and I have a great time chatting with everyone, and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This store is definitely a high-end grocery with warm bread (try the LaBrea wheat baguettes), a sushi chef, delicious pizza cooked on site, and Board's Head deli. We also use the pharmacy, and love their customer service and speedy turn-around. The prices are very high, and I don't typically do my weekly grocery shopping here. They do have great sales, and apparently good coupon policies, but I don't use coupons, so can't comment on the benefits. This store is wonderful for kids. They have fruit, bread, cheese, and meat samples, as well as free sugar cookies, so makes it easy to get kids interested in going inside. Overall, a great neighborhood store! read more

The employees working here are friendly and polite. However, their produce section is probably the worst I've ever seen. Small produce and there's usually no shortage of spoiled items mixed in with the good. Wegmans has far superior produce and variety. For my quick trips to the store this place is just fine. Decent store, but I have almost never been in here and not found expired products, especially dairy and things like bacon, etc. Whomever is responsible for that section is not doing their job. Same situation over in breads. Deli is nice, and store has a good selection. Pretty clean, so just check dates and always make sure prices ring up right. I had to return to the store several times because they forget to give you one of the bags. They just leave where they have it hanging on railings. We use the online ordering exclusively at this location. Patterson typically helps us and she is fantastic. Always so nice, always smiling and makes sure you have everything you need. I used to go to Giant because it is the store closest to where I live (Mapledale Plaza) but Giant has just steadily gone downhill since they were bough out by Royal Ahole. I can no longer get all the groceries I want at Giant as they stock less and less. So if I have to go to another store to complete my shopping I just go there directly. Giant seems more and more like Aldi but without the low prices, Their fruit tarts at HT are the best I have found, Giant's fruit tarts are sort of crummy, Food Lion has no fruit tarts (what is a fruit tart?) and while Wegman's has fruit tarts they aren't as good as HT and are more expensive. That is just one example of HT. The people there are friendly, had a cashier try and pick me up, and the manager is very helpful. I have had some problems with their grapefruits being past their prime. But these are extra large grapefruits, bigger than any other store. Funny too as I like RC Cola and they have some every now and then but apparently it isn't on their computer. So when the cashier tries to ring it the price won't come up. I told them that if the price wouldn't come up then it must be free and they agreed with me, very nice. Trying to think of any problems, the only thing to comes to mind is their Black Forest cake which is awful. A Black Forest cake is supposed to be made with whipped cream, not cool whip. Oh yes, their cherry turnovers are really nice. Wegman's has NO cherry turnovers. One BIG downside is they have no real dried beef which I use to make cream chipped beef on toast. All they stock is Hormel imatation dried beef which is only fit for the trash can. read more

I do like this store, with one exception...the management. I think that a shift manager that talks down to an employee in front of a customer, should be spoken to. Not only that, but it changed the cost of my purchases, and she didn't even acknowledge me or tell me what was going on. When I asked, she ignored me, but the cashier answered my questions. Another customer seemed to have the same issue, as she and I spoke as we were leaving the store. I plan on bringing this situation up to the store manager, but as they were unavailable today, and I had my daughter with me, I will have to call in the next few days. read more

I generally just visit this store during my lunch hour as they have delicious grab and go foods. They have a daily sandwich special that is of superior quality in my opinion to nearby sandwich shops and often at a lower price point - $3.49 for a half sub(daily specials) or $5 for a full sub on Fridays. In addition to this there pizza by the slice is delicious. They're salad bar offerings are better than most other local salad bar by the pound selections with the exception of Wegmans. read more

Went in to get subs and had to wait at least 20 minutes to have them made, even when no one was there. Overcharged on my account $62 and no one will recognize the issue.
