TJ's is always bustling. Popped in for dinner options for the next two days and it was busy ~3pm on Tuesday. The store is clean and the associates are always nice and helpful. They now have one line that feeds into all the checkout stations, like Bailey's Crossroads location has been doing for years. It does seem to speed up the checkout process. I haven't tried the scallops before but the TJ's newsletter had me wanting to try them. I never leave TJ's without a Tarte aux Champignons flatbread. Sooo good! This is probably my favorite Trader Joe's. It's smaller than some of the other ones I've been to, but it's laid out very well and it has a really great inventory. There's plenty of parking here. None of that 'circling the parking garage for a space' stuff. This store is located in a huge shopping center so if you can't find parking, you're probably not looking hard enough. One of the things I appreciate is that they manage to keep in stock certain items that have gone viral on social media. There was one particular product (which I won't mention because I don't want y'all to come buy them all up) that I've been looking for for over a year, and this was the only location that had it in stock. The beer and wine section is a little smaller than some of the other neighboring locations, but I've always found what I needed here. Despite it being a smaller store, I still find it fairly easy to navigate, even on days when it's especially busy. Of course I have my staple items (hellooooo guacasalsa, white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookies, frozen spinach dip, and Seco!), but what I really love are all of the seasonal treats. Not just food items, but candles, hand lotions, body butters, body scrubs, room sprays... Things that really add a little extra pizzazz to the current season. On top of that, they always have the most gorgeous flowers. I recently picked up some yellow roses with red tips. I've never seen roses that pretty before (and I don't even like roses). I just had to get them and they looked absolutely stunning in my house. In addition to looking pretty, the floral bouquets last a pretty good while too. Some of them have lasted over 2 weeks. As with every Trader Joe's, the staff here is super nice and tremendously helpful, and they always treat my items with care, packaging them carefully and neatly. Springfield Plaza is meh. Parking and unique activities, have made me enjoy their location slightly to the west more. Do they have good deals? Most certainly. Orange chicken especially is a hit?, and a good selection of foods. Coffee is quite good. As a snob of this beverage, their prices are hard to beat. They have a decent produce spot, and limited meats/canned goods. Very nice employees though. It is a busy store, but they'll get you through check out quick. If in area it works, but just not a fan of the shopping center here. read more

This is my go to TJs ... it's a small but compact store. Lots of new items on the shelves. I like how the displays always catch your eyes and you hate stop and check it out. Went here for the first time this week and loved it! It is much bigger than the Trader Joe's I normally shop at and they had a wide selection of wines as well! Great location and spacious. Plenty of parking is available as well. They are well stocked and the customer service is commendable.

I was amazed at Trader Joe's ability to follow covid procedures. Limiting the number of people that are in the store at one time sanitizing your cart prior to arriving to providing every person a squirt of sanitizer upon entering. There's plenty of space to shop with the number of patrons they allow in, check out area is more than 6 feet apart, and cashiers are great at sanitizing between guests. The only reason no five stars is they wanted 1899 for a 12 pack of seltzer, which is significantly higher than area liquor stores. read more

I love Trader Joe's! Can't say enough wonderful things about this grocery store. Customer service is also amazing! It can get quite busy during the work day, especially in the late afternoon and the parking lot is also a hot mess. Know when it's not busy and only come during those times! I didn't even know that this Trader Joe's existed in this plaza, tucked away in the corner! This seems to be a smaller TJ, with the aisles being a bit more narrow than the other locations. The staff are still all friendly and helpful, and you can still find your typical items. I picked up the raspberry-filled Kringle, one of my favorites, so I was happy to see this readily available! There was a line to get into the store but it was moving very fast. Also at the front door before entering there is an employee spraying the carts down with sanitizer and also making sure everyone uses sanitizer on their hands even before entering the store which is a PLUS. Upon getting inside. The employees stocking items near the front greeted me which is another plus. Also the store looked fully stocked and clean. It was a little crowded but what can you do. We're in C-19 shopping times now. The employees were very professional and social when I was asking questions about a few items. Also when I was checking out. The lines moved very quickly and the cashier was very professional and said thanks for shopping with us and have a great day on the way out which is another plus. Everything was nicely stocked inside the bag and upon auditing the receipt. All correct prices. The general crowd was mainly adults really. Highly diverse of all classes. Noise level was standard. I think Trader Joe's and I have this ongoing secret romance. I have been to several locations, often opting for this one since it is the closet one to me if I need to go one the weekends. Crazy thing is each time I go, I find something new to try or something I did not see the last time I was there. Every visit is like a treasure hunt, except you have no idea what the treasure is til you get there and find it. I took up a few suggestions from my last visit at another location. I grabbed some riced cauliflower and broccoli, along with the riced cauliflower stir fry and a host of salsas and some sesame oil. One thing that is consist is at this location is if the person at the register has an idea/suggestion based off of anything you are buying they freely share it. I have picked up so many nuggets of inspiration, food combos and idea right at the register. I will admit my favorite day to go is Sunday because there is always some wine to be tasted. Trader Joe's I never expected this from you . It was a disappointment, did you all changed the way you guys treat customers... Treating people of color in such discriminatory way.. I was treated by the person in the picture in humiliating way. I was at the Springfield, VA location today 6th October-2021 almost at 8:59-9:00pm closing time. Door was opened and I entered, then a lady staff told me it's closed & I told her I need to buy a loaf of bread only . So I requested to allow me. Then this guy(staff) Miguel in the picture came towards me and said leave pointing his two fingers of his two hands towards out side. I left the premises & he shut the doors. I went back to entrance & told him don't treat people in such way.. He was standing in side near shut doors, I heard him telling other staff that there is a mad person here.. That moment I realized he treated me such way because I am a person of color . It's a discrimination.. that was racism ... I was shocked Trader Joe's treat customers in such manner.. I am Trader Joe's regular customer in San Francisco, California where is my home town. I have never experienced such way there.. I am in Virginia for work and I was treated in such racist manner.. This is not accepted by any way.. I spoke to Manager -Nathan after this incident and explained the whole situation I faced there.. They have an employee limiting the amount of people going into the store yet the store was so packed..... no sort of social distancing in the aisles and it's not easy to maneuver a cart or stroller in this place. Can't comfortably look at products without people right on your butt. read more

I genuinely rarely write a review, either because I don't have the time or there's not something out of this world worth mentioning. I DO have to take the time though to write a review about the Trader Joe's in Springfield Plaza, and more specifically about a young man, named Danny. I come from an older generation, and perhaps that is the reason why to me respect, friendliness, and top notch quality service is so important to me. I can't thank this young man enough. I live closer to the Trader Joe's in Alexandria, but to be honest, I go into this location, not only because the parking situation there is tricky but because Danny works at this location. Every time I go into this location, Danny has a smile on his face, product knowledge, and excellent recipes he shares. He is honest about his perception of products, and he listens with care and attention to everyone and makes them feel at home. How many times can you say you feel at home at a supermarket? I see the way his peers often go to him and how well he gets along with others. On one occasion last week, I needed to return something, and Danny needed to grab a manager (store protocol). I was surprised with the amount of "fans" he has from his customers and his service, that he isn't one already. I don't know how much my review works in his favor, but I do know he needs to be recognized for bringing more customers like me from other locations because of the quality service he brings to the table!!!!! read more

This is 30. You start reviewing grocery stores on Yelp and you have a favorite Trader Joe's (this location by the way, is it). The aisles are wide, the people are friendly, shelves are stocked, and parking here is much less of a cluster than others. It also has a little bit of local flavor -- all of the check out aisles are named after local schools. Go Lancers! If you are here and find the illusive Ghost Pepper Chili and Everything Bagel Seasoning, get it! They are hard to come by and finding one is like finding a truffle in an Italian forest, a rare and special treat. Quite frankly, one flake of the ghost pepper chili puts my intestines in distress but my husband loves sprinkling it on his popcorn (Trader Joe's Movie Theatre brand in the red bag!). I'm a fan of the Everything Bagel seasoning and put it on my avocado toast made with the teeny tiny TJ avocados and their sourdough bread. Other winners: Cold Brew Chocolate Bars ...just do it.... coconut oil, so on trend and half the price than what you would find at Mom's Organic, freeze dried strawberries (my daughter can't stop snacking on them), and those Thai Shrimp Dumplings. Shopping at Trader Joe's gives me immense pleasure and makes turning old all the while more better ;) read more

Normally Trader Joe's is amazing but today they really upset me. I bought a fresh leg of lamb to serve for Easter in 5 days and when I got home I discovered it expired yesterday. It takes me 45 minutes each way without traffic to get there and back and I don't have the time to return. My go-to and favorite grocery store-- great products, excellent & low prices, and convenient location! Apparently, Trader Joe's doesn't offer coupons because their own brand prices are regularly lower compared to big retailers; and I couldn't agree more. And although not exclusively a health food store, they offer a lot of products that are organic/healthy as well as fresh produce, a great assortment of cheeses, imported goods, and also an extensive wine collection. My favorite of their brand, hands down is their Speculoos Cookie Butter-- spread that on anything and it'll make your day 100x brighter! (They also sell cookie butter ice cream, candy/cookies, and different variations of their spread (crunchy and with cocoa). It's a tasty combination of gingerbread and Swiss cookie. Every person I asked about a product went the extra mile to either answer my question or show me where it was. Great customer service. I bought their unique popcorn, manuka honey, tofu, etc. Very impressive. I just wish they had organic seeds and more organic nuts. I also wish they wouldn't put canola in their organic food, but Whole Foods and others do it too. It was busy and several checkers were working. I've always enjoyed shopping at this Trader Joe's, but today I got to experience it in a new light: during a preschool field trip. Cassandra, one of the managers, made the tour AWESOME for the kids. She explained how the store worked, what the workers were doing, and where our food comes from. She also let the kids touch and taste various foods (with parents' permission), which made it super engagin for the little ones. She couldn't have be nicer to the kids (and the parents!). As a chain, I would give Trader Joes five stars! I am giving this location 4 stars based on the difficult parking situation and the small size of the store; nothing they can actually fix. The team that works here is aces. They will help you find anything and they also give you personal and honest recommendations. I visit once a week to purchase produce for the week. It is so fresh and lasts. TJs has a huge selection! The cheese section is always well stocked and carries seasonal items that are not found in most grocery stores. Having a party? It is one stop shopping for all of the food! The frozen section has an amazing selection including appetizers already made! There are always samples being plated up so you can try things before you buy them. And if for any reason you aren't satisfied, you can get a refund for all of your money back! Now lets talk about the alcohol section! They have a huge wine selection with prices starting at $3 for their house wines; these are pretty good and I use them a lot in cooking. The beer selection is a bit smaller but very well curated. There are samples most of the time. They have a huge selection of flowers and plants as well as seasonal items like pumpkin candles and pumpkin lotion. You can find a lot of stocking stuffers here as well as quality cards for only $1. The best pro tip for this location is to shop during the week because weekends are terribly crowded. read more
