I came here for the second time this week in search of Greek pasta salad from the deli. They were completely out of it a couple of days ago, but today I was in luck and there was an entire container of it on display. I ordered a half pound of that and a half pound of Cole slaw from the friendly employee who was working behind the counter. I would consider this location to be the best location in all of the DC area. The deli itself is probably three times larger than the one that they had previously, and their salad bar has expanded significantly. It was very tempting as I walked past it, but at $9.00 per pound I took a pass on that today. I also noticed that they have taken the cue from another fancy grocery store, because they now offer pizza and other prepared foods. The store is clean with everything in its place. I like shopping here!

Giant Food in Springfield is a recently relocated grocery store with a various selection of products. This location has a Cheese Bar, a large selection of Wines / Beers & a Hot Food Bar. This is the Best Giant in the area.

I actually came to the new location this morning to pickup one of my fa orite lunch items. The Greek pasta salad from the deli is my absolute favorite thing that they have in the store. It's actually made fresh daily in the store. While I was here I also decided to get a gallon of whole milk, some bagels to bring to work, and six oranges. I've been to this store a couple of times since they opened which was last year I think, and I am really impressed about how much larger, cleaner, and modern this store is compared to their old location. At this time of the morning there were more employees working in the store than actual customers. At least two of the employees asked me if I needed help with anything. While I was roaming the isles I decided to also get some Florida's Natural orange juice. I could have kept shopping but I am already running late for work as it is. I will try to make it back here this weekend!

i wanted to give a big shout out and thumb up to the brand new location that opened up six months ago. This place is at least 35% larger than their previous location within the same plaza. I came in here this Friday night and there were not that many shoppers inside which I guess is normal. My thinking is that most of the shoppers come in during the weekend. While perusing the isles I quickly noticed the increase in prices since the last time I had visited the site store. I know that this is not the fault of the store as everything has increased. I was really hoping to get a salad from the salad bar, but it appears to still be closed down due to the pandemic. Instead I went for Greek pasta salad and a bottle of water. I figured that this would be healthy enough for tonight, and I'll plan on coming back in a few days to take care of some real shopping!

If you're shopping with small children, beware of the bathrooms. Chemicals readily available to kids.

What makes this situation even more ironic is the message printed on the store's bag: "Always FRESH!". Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. This isn't really about the money. The amount is small. The issue is that customers should not be sold produce that is already rotten inside. If a store promotes "Always Fresh," there should be proper quality control to ensure the products on the shelf actually meet that promise. I hope someone from Fresh World's management or marketing team reaches out to address this situation, offer the appropriate apology, and refund the purchase. Regardless of the price, customers should not have to pay for food that is already spoiled. I'm sharing this so other shoppers are aware and can check their produce carefully when buying from this store.

The deli counter is definitely one of them. I went to Harris Teeter today looking for a different shopping experience than what I do every single week. Sadly,I didn't get it. Their produce department is absolutely beautiful. All of their shelves are well stalked and organized and staff in and around the deli area is beyond my expectation. The problem is with all that staff in the deli area , there's not a single person that wants to get behind that counter and cut your deli meats. Today I waited nine minutes with all manner of deli staff walking around me, and actually ignoring me from behind the deli counter. (I'll add that its not the first time) They may have figured out that I'm a Yelp reviewer, because the "manager" came over and offered herself to help me with my deli order - which by this time was too little too late. By comparison, I went to the meat and fish counter, where the minute I walked up, somebody was right there offering assistance, telling me to ask for them if I decided that I needed any help. Far cry from being ignored just a few feet away. Suggest cutting the dead weight in the deli. Staffing looks great on paper, but not in practice. There are 3 places at a grocery store where you actually need human help, deli, meat counter and cashier. If you want 66% then this is the store for you.

Wegman's also has excellent meat and seafood sections. The bakery is impressive. And one thing they have improved since we first shopped here five years ago is that they have toned down the blasting music that used to make us want to get fast out of Wegman's. The hot foods section used to be pretty good, but now it has shriveled down to next to nothing, The take-home pre-prepared meals, while very good in quality, are exorbitant. Plan on spending $16-$18 for a simple meal, which is as much as you would pay in a restaurant for the same stuff. While they have an abundance of self-check stations, Wegman's doesn't let you get cash back, like you can at Safeway. The self-check stations can be persnickety. Today, I encountered one machine claiming I had put an unchecked item in the bagging item before I had even started scanning my stuff. Yikes! But what I really don't like is how Wegman's does bagging. The Virginia legislature in 2022 passed a law allowing grocery stores to collect from customers 5¢ for each plastic bag used. Wegman's has completely done away with plastic bags, yet Wegman's but takes advantage of that law to charge 5¢ for each paper bag. The icing on the cake is their paper sacks do not even have handles.
