Just your average breakfast, nothing special . In my opinion it's very overpriced. We paid almost $30 for 2 eggs, thin pieces of bacon , toast and bland hash browns. Service was umm okayish. I got a vibe that they cater to locals . I asked that our hash browns be seasoned with salt and pepper and we were told that they don't season hash browns because other people prefer it bland. Seriously? Why I have to be included with " the other people" We could season it afterwards . Ummm, not sure why anyone would prefer tasteless , bland potatoes. Found that bizarre. Won't return. This place was fantastic. We visited twice while on vacation. The food I tasted fresh, flavorful and homemade. The staff were super helpful (shout out to Charlie, but they were all great). They even stayed calm when my dog barked at them - they were very understanding. We got sandwiches and breakfasts and the dog got a peanut butter pup cup and scrambled eggs. I also dislike when servers ask if you want something with the meal and its additional cost, that should be told right away. It seems to be run by a family- like maybe Dad was cooking, daughter was waiting. tables and son was bussing, which is super cute. I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. I really appreciate the fact that they offered a cheaper no meat option because even though I like pork green chili, I don't really want anything but potatoes, eggs and cheese in my burrito and I always have to get it no meat for the same price elsewhere. TLDR: I really wanted to like this place, but the food I received didn't come close to resembling the pictures of their famed burgers. I had a super remote hike and planned to eat at Cutthroat Cafe following my hiking excursion. So much so that I planned my meal the night before! Yep, I looked up places in Bailey, scoured menus, and landed on Cutthroat Cafe to feed my post hike belly. It was a beautiful day outside so I opted for the covered patio. They had a band, a husband and wife duo, performing during my meal. They were a bit understaffed, but they were hustling. The menu you see online is the same, except the prices are considerably higher from when they updated their website. My super cheeseburger was $14, close to $15. Inflation, I get it, but you still have to deliver. What was presented to me was something you get at your cousins backyard BBQ. The cheese wasn't melted, the patty was overcooked, and the burger was more bun than patty. I hate to say it, but it just wasn't good. Also, it was pretty strange that a child delivered the burger to my table. Didn't say a word, just dropped off the burger. Look, it's probably someone's kid who works/owns the restaurant (at least I hope!) but it just rounded out a fairly weird dining experience. Dining in the mountains is always a gamble. I wish I opted for another spot instead. I mean, look at all the other burger photos on Yelp. The burgers look amazing! Then take a long, hard gander at mine...no resemblance whatsoever. We are in town on vacation, and stopped by for breakfast with my husband & 9 year old. We all really enjoyed our food. My husband got the country fried steak at the suggestion of our waitress and it was delicious (I stole a bite), my kiddo had a pancake & bacon which was completely devoured by him, and I got the veggie burrito substituting chili for salsa....soooooo good! Stopped in early for breakfast over the weekend and had a pretty good meal. Small building right off 285 in Bailey with a good sized outdoor seating area under a tent. Ordered their "reel" deal breakfast item which is basically a deconstructed hash topped with cheese, bacon, sausage, and eggs. I would classify this restaurant as a locals place as the Sheriff was sitting with us starting the day. Inside seating is very limited with a small bar area, so if the weather isn't great then might want to keep traveling down the road. read more

Impressive little cafe on the way through Conifer. The menu has a great selection of your favorites for breakfast and lunch. Known for their fresh beef, the Patty Melt was delicious. Be sure and order the nicely battered onion rings and the French fries are crispy too. The chicken tenders are big and juicy. They serve everything from traditional breakfast style plates, to country fried chicken/steak, salads, etc...but the real draw...the thing that they do so, so well...is the burgers. These are the real deal. Lots of beef....freshly, loosely packed patties, cooked in true grease pit fashion, and served with ingredients that are familiar, fresh, and that come together to create a perfect example of what everyone thinks of when they think of a classic American burger. Ate lunch here this afternoon while in Bailey. We had our dog with us, so we got the food to go and ate on their front patio. My wife and I both had the french dip sandwich. Literally just meat on the roll. Not a lot of roast beef either. It was rather dry and could've used mayo or something. Dipped in the au jus, I guess it was ok, albeit rather salty. Fries were kind of McDonald's, which isn't a horrible thing except they weren't particularly hot. My daughter had the chicken strips and fries. She didn't rave about it, but she ate them. Once I walked in the girl at the front counter was such a sweetheart and her regulars started walking through the door saying hi and cracking jokes. Loved the small hometown feel of welcoming comfort and good service. French toast was great as well as the oatmeal. Seeking a place on my way home from Kenosha Pass to quiet my grumbling tummy, I happened upon Cutthroat Cafe. Let me tell you - it was delicious! SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: Cutthroat Cafe is the epitome of the mountain diner. Signs everywhere proclaim that, "life is better when you're fishing." After all, the place is named after a type of fish - so it's to be expected. When you first walk in there's light colored wood everywhere that emulates the look of a cabin. The dinning area is a bit more simple - with wooden chairs and tables. There's a great patio out back, but it was a bit chilly the day of my visit; so I opted to stay inside. Did I mention the building is painted a bright blue and orange? Well it is Broncos territory - so are you surprised that it would be? Me neither. SERVICE: When you walk in its a bit confusing if you need to wait to be seated or grab a seat on your own. After checking real quick with one of the servers bustling around behind the counter, I grabbed a seat at a small table. My server was with me quickly to take my order. My meal was out to me somewhat quickly - no longer than I expected. They do bring you your check with you meal and you pay as you leave. This is not a practice I'm a fan of. Only because I feel that servers don't check back with you after bringing out your meal. Oh well. EATS: After browsing the menu I decided that the breakfast burrito was calling my name.
