We picked up breakfast burritos on our way to an adventure with my husbands father down the hill, I didn't feel like cooking...so we decided to try Cuzin's again, we hadn't had them in a while. I eat here often, so don't let the 3 stars reflect your decision on the food. This review is about many other things, related to the business. The 3 stars is for the terrible menu board. That they don't have a website with a real up to date menus with current pricing. So if you call to place a pick up order (which I highly recommend- otherwise you wait in the drive through line forever) you don't know the prices or what they have unless you have been there previously. You can also not tip on your credit card cash only. They don't have a Fb page either. I mean come on owners, you have young people in there that can help you run this portion and would increase business 10fold. Even a to go menu would be nice. Not a fan. After reading a good review in a neighborhood page, we were so excited to try the food. They were out of one of the burritos we wanted, and for some reason the woman was SO RUDE. Like out of the blue rude. But having worked in the food industry for a long time I get that we all have bad days. The food we DID get was soggy, but actually had an OK flavor. ALSO: when we got to the window there was a sticker with our former orange prez giving the double birds. Way to alienate your customers guys. You may love that guy, and that's your right, but to display this on your business is not smart and made me never want to come back. I'm not the only one. I was hoping that we'd love this place because we pass it often when we hike in the mountains. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our dreams and expectations. We each got a cheeseburger and shared a strawberry shake and chili cheese fry, and my boyfriend tried the chili cheese dog. The burgers were decent, but the bread they were on couldn't withstand the liquid and it was a bit soggy, even though we ate our food right away. The fries were great, but they were about what you'd expect from fast food chili cheese fries. The shake was just okay. It was like a cold Nesquik strawberry milk. My boyfriend ate the dog with no complaints so I'm assuming that was okay as well. We both agreed that we would eat there again if we were starving, but it's probably better to just wait until you get to town. read more

A cool drive-thru style burger spot on the side of the road. Met all of my expectations. I got the Guacamole Bacon Burger and they delivered fresh, hot and delicious food. Ended up parking and eating at the picnic table and taking in the wonderful view. Would absolutely come back, couldn't ask for more from what is advertised. After a weekend camping in the mountains near Bailey, Colorado, Cruz'in was a welcome sight. A drive-thru, which accommodated a massive RV, their breakfast made all things good. We ordered a sausage breakfast burrito, bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich, cinnamon roll and strong black coffee. The service was quick, the staff, wearing their Denver Bronco pride, was friendly and smiley. The cost was very reasonably priced. We pulled over nearby and feasted. It was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. It hit the spot immensely. If one is ever just west of Pine Junction on 285, stop for a meal. You'll be glad you did! read more

Don't judge a book by it's cover! This place is super yummy and worth a stop every time you pass by. We personally love the burgers and fries or the take and bake pizza. Do know that this isn't your typical fast food joint (thankfully) in that it takes 2 min to get your food. They actually cook it when you order it. It's still fast. Came for lunch. Got the cheeseburger combo. I was really excited for a delicious burger. The fries were really good! They tasted kind of like onion rings so all the better! The burger though was sad. Almost like the patty was heated in the microwave. I was expecting a fried in butter on the griddle mountain burger! Not a terrible place to fill a void. Went for lunch, ordered burgers and a chili-cheese dog. Service - The wait was 'longish,' there were two cars in front of us and it was a 15 minutes between ordering and getting our food. The clerk was nice enough, though not particularly friendly. Food - Starting with the good... the fries were very good. They have a crunching coating and a soft interior and a light seasoning. The onion rings were also better than average. The chocolate shake was okay. It was clearly made with Hershey's syrup (I could taste the distinct flavor) which could be a good or bad thing depending on your view of things. Now the bad... the hamburgers and the hotdog were disappointments. For one thing, they got our order completely wrong. We had ordered one hamburger with only ketchup (nothing else) and another without onions or condiments. Both came "fully loaded" with all of the vegetables, mustard, and ketchup. The burger patties were dry, like they'd been sitting out for a while. The hotdog was likewise underwhelming. The chili was clearly canned and there was almost no cheese. The food wasn't terrible, but it reminded me a "cafeteria food" in terms of quality and flavor. We'd have been happier with a chain fast food restaurant. Price - $25 for two burgers, one hotdog, a drink, a shake, one fries, and one onion rings. Comparable to most fast food restaurants. I don't rule out ordering from here again, but won't hurry back, not when there are better options nearby. read more

Tried this drive up/take out just last week. Ordered a large everything pizza. We always noticed this place looked busy, even though it's pretty dive-y looking. Pizza was big and delicious. We will return. Lots of toppings, and dough was not thick/not thin, but got a nice crisp on it to the point we even ate the crusty edge. Two stars only because they were nice. The food here is so disgusting. We ordered chicken sandwiches, onion ring, fries, and a cafe mocha. The food was all pre-packaged frozen and nasty. Always see this place while I am driving on 285 leaving and coming back from my mountain adventures, so I finally decided to stop here one day. The food is pretty tasty. I got the the southwest burger and I really enjoyed it! The fries were also very tasty, a perfect crispy and size. I think this place is worth stopping by many more times, especially when I am on my way back from those long camping trips. Especially since this place is not too pricey. Second visit, time for a quick review. So far the Onion Rings are the only reason to go here. They are 5 stars. Although serving size is a bit short. Hamburgers are basic - seemingly (most likely) frozen sort of grey once cooked - 2 stars at best I had the chili burger on this visit and it really was just bland. Fries are ok - but serving size is on the small side. They have a captive market as there is nothing else close by - Till you get to the sonic ( and Wendy's) in Conifer. If your starving and not too pickey go for it. Great cheeseburgers and breakfast burritos and get a treat for your dog. If it is close to noon we stop for cheeseburgers, if early in the morning we get breakfast burritos about three to four times a month on our way to and from Fairplay on highway 285. We have stopped at other places on 285, only to be disappointed by terrible food and slow service. We travel this section of 285 about 6 times a month and more than often we will stop if they are open. Food is quick, cheap & tasty - staff not very knowledgeable. For exmaple, tonight I called to see what time they close. I was told they close in 1.5 hrs from my call. So I drove 10 minutes to the Cruz in and I was told sorry the grill is already shut down we only have take & bake pizza's. It is BS they didn't tell me this when I called. If you are open until 7pm, then your grill should be hot and ready to make a hamburger at 6:59pm & not shut down at 5:50pm. read more

I come here for the fries!! They are super good. The breakfast burritos are pretty good too. I havent had much else off the menu. Ive been coming here for about 10 years and only order those two things. Staff is friendly. Only tip id have for customers coming in is to CALL AHEAD to pick up your order. If you're ever driving up to the mountains on 285 you should make it a point to stop at Cruz-In. As far as fast food joints go, this is the best. We usually go for their breakfast burritos. The chorizo one is fantastic. And they are always scorching hot and fresh. I love their fries and their spicy chicken sandwich. They cook everything to order so sometimes it's a bit of a wait. You can either drive through and order at the menu sign and pick up at the window or you can park and walk in and order at the counter. There are a few tables outside for dining but this is pretty much an eat-on-the-go kind of place. To top it all off they often have treats for your dogs too :) read more

Went in today, here was our experience The Good: The food was legit. Really good. The green chili chicken sandwich was so good, perfect amount of spiciness and flavor! The patty melt was yummy, it looked like it was on rye bread. The fries have that little bit of extra batter on them and are cooked with the right amount of crisp on the outside. Despite the issues below I totally recommend this place and will be back. It was very good! The Negative: 1. Our order was wrong. Alex was our cashier, our order was wrong on the receipt. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, one grilled, one fried, a patty melt, onion rings and fries. We ended up with 2 fries and 2 fried chicken sandwiches and our patty melt. 2. I see there are two references to Cruz-in. I believe they're one in the same so I'll put this on both :) I LOVE this place! We live nearby so we have become frequent visitors. The food is so inexpensive yet so delicious. The fries here taste just like the fries you get at the fair, so good. The burrito's are so tasty, they are generous with the toppings on the take and bake pizzas which are delish. All I can say is when you live far from town it is a huge treat to have something close by that's so fast, easy and scrumptious, particularly with such a variety of food! read more

I give this place three stars for the food, and an extra star for service. I rolled into the Cruz-In after a long day of field work, about 3:30 pm. It was cold, snowing, and I hadn't had any food since breakfast. I ordered a regular cheeseburger combo meal with a drink. When I came up to the window, the young lady at the register noticed that I had my pooch with me in the back seat, and immediately asked if my dog would like a treat. It was such a nice gesture, that in my mind, it did not matter if the food was terrible, they exceeded my expectations with customer service. Cruz'in has solidly OK burgers (for the rural mountains), fries, onion rings and shakes. I think their burritos are basically meh but some people really like them. Never tried their take-n-bake pizzas. They only offer drive-thru and, other than the new Gypsy Diner in Bailey, are the only drive-thru places until you get to Conifer. (These may even be the only drive-thru places between Conifer and Fairplay.) I'm local and will stop there if I'm craving a burger - and I'm especially fond of their green chili burger. The service is also consistently good. We're lucky to have this - or any drive-thru - in our neighborhood. read more

This place has been a great local shop until recently. I have to guess it's from the lack of help available. Hope they can return to normal soon. Last 4 orders have been way off.
