My wife and I were looking for a great place to eat in Evergreen, and Murphy's ranked the highest. It's a very laid-back atmosphere, with some of the best burgers I have tried. If you like a juicy burger with incredible taste, this is the place to go. Their truffle fries were just as good. I will have to go back and try the Salmon and their signature cocktails. The only negative, and this is not the restaurant's fault, is that the parking is horrible. Luckily, we went on a weekday in the winter, so we were able to park about a block away. There are a few paid parking spots, but it will cost about $10 for 2 hours if you use the QR code on your phone. If you can get to the restaurant, it's well worth it. This place is charming and perfect for a nice dinner in the Evergreen area. Great service... the vibe feels like a true Colorado mountain town with rustic charm. The food was spectacular! The brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had... finely chopped, crispy, with beautiful flavor. We had the elk burger (dirty Frenchman) and OMG!! So, so delicious! Upgrade to the sweet potato tater tots (or parm truffle fries... you can't go wrong with either). Their blackberry blitz looked amazing (my friend got it and then just added soda for refills). Oh boy. We so wanted to love this place. Firstly, the table and chairs were disgusting. I pulled my chair up to the tables and was greeted with sticky fingers because all the underneath surfaces of the table and chairs was covered in grime and food. Secondly, their food was just not good. The menu descriptions sounds so tasty and wonderful, but when the food is brought out, there was no quality control. We were asked what temp we wanted our burgers--everyone asked for mid rare. Zero pink in the middle. All were well done and tiny beef patties. My Asian salad was a joke, giant pieces of cabbage with the stem that wasn't shredded fine like the rest which made it super bitter. I asked for dressing on the side and they brought out maybe a teaspoon amount. The fries were undercooked--limp, cold, and starchy, not to mention, they portion their ketchup too. I don't even know why. It tasted like regular bottled ketchup--not like it was housemade or anything.Their Sprite tasted awful, sweet potato tots were also cold and undercooked, and their bathrooms were closed. Our wings were the only bright spot in this nightmare of a visit. Our server was nice but forgot about us multiple times and everything took forever. Don't eat here. We stopped in for a drink and an app. The place was dead for a Saturday. That might be why the staff seemed less than enthused to be there. The draft beer selection left a lot to be desired. I heard someone ask for a light beer and the response was they only had one but they were out. The plantain nachos were different but decent. read more

We've been to Murphy's Mountain Grill before, and while the portions have always felt a little small for the price, the food was decent enough that we came back. Unfortunately, this last visit was a mess from start to finish. We were seated right away, but then sat for about 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Finally, another employee asked if we had been helped, and when we said no, our waitress came over and apologized before taking our order. From there, everything took forever -- drinks, food, all of it. The portions were shockingly small this time around too. My husband paid $21 for a burger that honestly looked like it came off a kids' menu. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and the chicken was dry and cold. No ketchup or condiments. We got up and got our own from the bar. We left still hungry. The worst part was when our food finally came out. The waitress brought meals for me, my husband, and one child, but completely forgot the other child's meal. She said she'd "be right back," but instead we watched her wait on multiple other tables before finally bringing his food. By the time he got it, the rest of us were completely done eating. To make matters worse, another table that had been seated after us was also having major issues. The husband eventually got up visibly upset because they had received drinks but still never got their food. You could tell his family was trying to calm him down, but he had clearly reached his limit. A manager (or maybe another young employee) came over to apologize to them, but nobody ever came to check on or speak to us, even though we had also been waiting an extremely long time. The whole place felt disorganized, understaffed, and more focused on employees socializing with each other than actually taking care of customers. We wanted to sit Creekside, but all of the tables were full, so we got a nice patio table in the front of the restaurant by the street, still a beautiful vibe. And it was a perfect day to sit outside in early August. Although all of the dishes and appetizers sounded so tempting, we decided not to indulge and just skip straight to the main course We all ordered different burgers, my friends tried the black and Bleu and the Murph and were raving about it. I built my own take on the Frenchman, adding some caramelized onions and onion frizzles, and a truffle sauce. So good! I don't know that Brie is my favorite cheese for a burger though, I'd get it with a different cheese next time personally The fries were absolutely delicious, i ordered the truffle fries and it also came with a side of truffle dipping sauce. So good. The portions were a little skimpy on the fries though. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that my friends burger was ordered medium well and came out with a bright pink inside. Our group of 7 went to Murphys for dinner after a high school lacrosse game. When we arrived we were told we would have to wait for a table to accommodate our group size, the hostess was so sweet and even came out to update us and check on us while we waited. It wasn't long maybe 15 minutes. The staff was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and very pleasant. Our food was absolutely delicious! We tried several burgers , the wings, BLTA, and the oriental chicken salad . Everything was wonderful, very fresh, and served with a smile. The strawberry lemonade was also amazing. We ordered 2 drinks we didn't like and she took them away with no problem and got us lemonades that we both loved! Husband got the Murph burger with elk patty and truffle fries. Very very good! I got the rustic wings which tastes kind of rough, idk how to explain that. Less like wings and more like chicken breast. One was super bloody in the inside and it just grossed me out a little! Good and bad. Here's the good: The ambiance is nice, and the service was very good, I wish we'd had a good experience. Now the bad. Three diners, two said their food was ok, mine was inedible. It was a salad with blackened salmon, and the salmon must have gone rancid. My dish smelled terrible the moment they put the plate on the table, so I actually asked the server, before tasting anything, if they used a weird marinade or something that would make it smell odd. Took a small bite and had to spit it out, so bad. Somebody in the kitchen must have noticed it and thought the spices would cover it. They replaced the fish with shrimp, but really that ruined my experience. Also, please know that the place was really cold when we were there. As in grab a blanket cold, indoors. Wear a bulky sweater and avoid the fish. read more

They're known for their burgers, so you should probably order one! +Evergreen Smoked Pork Green Chili ($9) // Shredded Cheese, Cilantro, Pickled Red Onions, Pepitas, Tortilla Strips. This was the most dolled up green chile I've ever had. It was also the GREENEST green chile I've ever had. I'm 99% sure they add green dye to it, which I don't seem to understand the reasoning for...Having said that, the flavors were good albeit the neon green color. Southern Charm ($17) // Angus Beef, Espresso Bacon Bourbon Onion Jam, Smoked Gouda, Roasted Garlic Horseradish Aioli, Pickles, Lettuce, served with House Cut Kennebec Fries. The burgers at Murphy's Mountain were incredibly delicious! I had the Southern Charm and my partner had the Black & Blue (he devoured it before I could take a pick). Although the Udi's GF bun is not my favorite the taste of the burger empowered the lack of taste for the bun. The Citrus Grilled Chicken Plantain Nachos were an interesting and unique creation of typical nachos--if you love plantains then you will definitely enjoy this version of nachos. The first time that I went to Murphy's was fantastic. Food was great, service was amazing, and the restaurant has a great vibe. Going there the second time was setup to be the same, although the chicken that we had ordered was a little bit off. After checking out and leaving, my girlfriend and I got sick soon after and furthermore at home which was unfortunate, though it seemed like a fluke compared to the first time. With both of us getting sick, I wanted to make sure that others would avoid getting sick with chicken and called to let them know, only to be met with defensiveness and denial. With all of this being said, our in-house server, which is not who I spoke with on the phone, is extremely nice and none of this review is directed at her. Front Range friends, I have a recommendation. Beat the summer heat by driving up Bear Creek Canyon from Morrison to Evergreen, and have lunch at Murphy's Mountain Grill. Sarah and I thoroughly enjoyed our elk burgers, and the sundae I ordered for us to share for dessert was fantastic (I rarely order dessert, and almost never at lunch). Moraine loved her walk along, and dips in, Bear Creek at Lair o' the Bear Park in Idledale, four miles west of Morrison, and is tuckered out this evening. She's approaching 90 in dog years, after all. A one mile walk is plenty for her. We took the back way home down North Turkey Creek Road and saw some beautiful mountain, more precisely foothills, scenery. read more

Honestly! What an unassuming place! Early dinner on Independence Day. Tate was immediately there and asked if we'd been at the Grill before. Since we hadn't he gave us a thorough but brief rundown. He was great and we were unhurried. Now, this is a REAL chef's restaurant without the hoidy-toidy! We were with long-time friends from North Carolina. Eventually ordered the Black & Blu burger, the Murph burger, the BLTA and the Epic Pass (like a sophisticated Reuben). Wonderful food and very innovative/inventive. Delicious. My wife didn't want a side but I insisted she order the SWEET POTATO TOTS. Fabulous! I also ordered a Strawberry Lemonade Arnold Palmer which was amazing! What flavor! Now whereas this isn't your fine dining restaurant it IS where you'll find really great chef-prepped food. BTW, the sweet potato tots are incredible. Everything seems to be made in-house. First time here because of great ratings when searching for a place to eat all the way from Missouri but unfortunately the wife and daughters dinner was not good the Hamburger Bun had mold on both Of them so they took them back and brought fresh dinner to the table but the food was not hot when they tried to correct the situation so yeah 2 strikes should have expected this when we walked into the restaurant the heat was not properly working in the restaurant so it was cold and chilly and the waitress said that she knew this the owners need to get it right no excuses for this at all I will never come back for a dinner here again I normally don't leave a review but feel like that i should because it's very important when people are spending their money for quality food and drink but this time this place failed and we still left a 20 percent tip for the service read more

After golfing at Evergreen Golf course this is the perfect place to come and enjoy some very nice food. We were given this recommendation from the golf starter and happy he sent us here. The ambience is so....EVERGREEN! Wait staff excellent and everything we ordered was quite tasty. We would definitely come back. I am impressed with this little place and will definitely be back! My husband had been out in the Mountains and were starving! I noticed the bar had a lot of good liquors and beers on tap. Their food was exceptional! My husband ordered the half chicken with Yukon potatoes, the bbq sauce on the chicken was some of the best I ever ate! I ordered the black and blue without the bacon but with sweet potato tots, they were another level! The servers were so kind and answered our questions about the area. The service was also quick and the food was hot when it arrived. The atmosphere is very comfortable and in the summer you can eat next to the stream! Pretty neat and very popular spot in Evergreen. We were meeting a group for lunch, and luckily, they had a reservation because it was popping when we got there, and the wait was more than 90 mins when we left. We split several appetizers. The citrus grilled chicken plantain nachos were probably my favorite. Next on the list was the ahi sashimi wonton tacos. The coriander chilled shrimp was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. The table enjoyed the brussel sprout petals as an appetizer; I got an order as my side with my burger. They were ok, but I was a little let down. They could've been hotter. For my main course, I had the Southern Comfort with the elk burger. Quite impressed with it...really good flavor and not as messy as several pics of burgers I've seen on here. My wife got the Ins and Outs, holding a few things. She seemed happy with her choice, although it was much more rare than the medium well done request she made. Fries were fine, but not spectacular. Drinks were flowing, and service was spot on the entire time. The one downer was when we found out we wouldn't get to enjoy the chocolate chip bread pudding we had ordered.
