Me and the boys headed in for lunch after a day of golf. Service was good and we were sat quickly. Beer was cold! The cheese curds were crunchy and gooey. Excellent sauce with the cheese curds. The wings were meaty and saucey with a good wing to dip ratio. The Philly cheesesteak was perfectly cooked. Sweet potato fries were on point

Was enjoying a mountain drive with my incredible wife and decided to stop in for lunch. What an amazing mountain town gem this place is. It was cold today so they had a fireplace going inside and it felt warm and comfy. The woman behind the bar treated us like she had known us for years. She acknowledged our same sex marriage and smiled at us. So, I'm guessing this place is very queer friendly. We ordered a few beers and lunch. She ordered a huge burger that had onion rings on top of it and a bowl of their famous red chili. I ordered their vegetarian Philly and it was shockingly good. We enjoyed our meal, our cold beers and the mountain town ambiance. We highly recommend Cactus Jacks.

*Warning* awesome looking chairs but you will indeed get splinters in places ... not cool.

Cactus Jack's is hands down one of the best bar/restaurant mountain-town locations around. The food was delicious, including the chips and salsa which were fresh. And let's not forget about the Cuban sandwich - it was the best we've ever had, and that's saying something coming from a former Miami resident. The live music on the weekends added an extra level of entertainment to our dining experience. We loved that the venue was super dog-friendly, looks like that include inside too. The house margaritas were killer with the fresh squeezed orange juice. The vibes at Cactus Jack's were on point, whether we were sitting indoors or enjoying the outdoor patio. The ambiance was chill and relaxed, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long week. They even have a Dog menu with free snacks and entrees too. The only downside was the parking situation- just park down the street and walk in if you're here on the weekend. Overall, we loved Cactus Jack's and will definitely be returning again soon. If you're looking for good food, a fun atmosphere, and a place that loves dogs as much as you do, this is the spot for you. Awesome place that screams chill in a world of pretentiousness. 4 stars as we had to flag down a waiter after having sat for ten minutes as they passed by a dozen times

**Extremely Disappointed - Ongoing Issues Ignored** My friends and I have been loyal attendees of Wednesday Trivia Night, but it's become increasingly clear that this establishment has no interest in fixing its repeated issues. This isn't a one-off complaint--this has happened multiple times, and each week it gets worse. Management consistently double-books the space, leaving nowhere for Trivia guests to sit. People were sitting comfortably outside, so there's absolutely no reason the Trivia event had to be crammed indoors with zero planning. It's a careless, thoughtless decision that shows complete disregard for the regulars who actually support these events. The waitstaff, with the exception of one sweet and professional server, are either clearly under the influence or openly rude. I had to sit at a dirty table, and when I asked for silverware--*after* my food was already delivered--the food runner slammed it on the table with visible anger. That's unacceptable behavior from anyone working in hospitality. To make matters worse, leftover food from an earlier event was left sitting out in plain view during Trivia, attracting flies and creating a disgusting and unsanitary atmosphere. Again--this is not the first time we've seen this level of neglect. The good staff clearly seem just as frustrated as the patrons, struggling to serve regulars through the chaos. At this point, I don't even want to go back. This place has lost sight of what it means to be community-centered. Until another Trivia night opens in Evergreen, we'll be heading to Conifer and Golden instead. And since your previous response barely acknowledged the full scope of the issue--expect this to be made public across every review platform I can find. The lack of accountability and professionalism will not go unnoticed.

Very fun atmosphere and great outdoor seating. Lots to look at. I tried to order a pumpkin cider but they were sold out. There were some allergy cross contaminations so I couldn't do the pretzels or the bread to dip into the artichoke dip so I requested celery. I had some Mac n cheese which was very good! My friend got dollar wings which she enjoyed. Food was fine. I'd go there more for the view though.

Came here last weekend (1/20) with my hubby and cousins after visiting Evergreen Lake. This place is lively! They've got big TVs to watch the games, a fireplace, board games, and friendly staff. Let me not forget to mention how good the food and drinks were! I ordered the diner burger, and a cranberry mule. I've never had a cranberry mule before, and it was yummy! We were very pleased with our visit.

First things first, I did a LOT OF EYE HUSTLING other people's food here... everything looked freaking amazing! Live music, colorful decor, cozy bar. Exactly what I pictured a mountain bar to be. Quirky with fabulous food and entertainment. Prices might be a little higher, the quality of food and establishment is worth the investment. Their red chili has won 4 competitions And the green chili has won 2, I ordered both obviiiiii The red is meat on meat w a few beans... perfection in my opinion. Seasoned and hearty. The green is also amazing! The best part is the grilled tortillas! Nice touch. Both chilis are out of this world. Check your bingo card for mountain watering hole... this is it.

The service was amazing and has nothing to do with my review. And the lemonade was amazing. The food was slow to come out. I get there is a shortage of people willing to work without benefits but we sat for about 45 minutes before our Philly cheesesteak and friend shrimp came out. There was live music and not only did I not enjoy it, it was too loud to enjoy. And I'm saying this as is one who frequents the punk concerts. It was obnoxiously loud. I even silently cheered when it tripped the fuse and they couldn't play. My "coconut" shrimp were really regular breaded shrimp and over priced for what you got. 10 shrimp and a side of homemade coleslaw. Really the coleslaw was nothing more than shredded cabbage without any kind of sauce if you will. No white dressing, no vinegar dressing, just a side of shredded cabbage. The sauce for the shrimp was good but again, it was advertised as coconut and there wasn't any coconut. I'm guessing my husband liked the cheesesteak and I didn't try any. I didn't ask for any and he ate everything without commenting so I assume it was ok. There is bike parking but for a car.... forget it. It's a great location but for what they charge for food, I'm not going back. I'll find somewhere else to eat

We were in Denver for the weekend. An old friend (maybe I should say "longtime friend") picked us…read moreup and drove us uphill to Echo Lake, which was lovely. And on our way back down we came to The Little Bear Saloon. A friend of his was in a band playing there that night. There was a $10 cover, which is fine with me, it all goes to the band/bands. We got there at 7:30 and the band started at 7:30 so there wasn't any seating in the main room, where the band was playing (obviously this is common sense but it was how our schedule worked out). Don't worry, we got a booth in the next room and it was still plenty loud. Our server was great, funny, and made sure we had our needs met. The food: ok, it is not great food. My dining companions had burgers and pizza. I opted for a Greek salad as I had eaten an entire dish of pork belly at the Denver Zoo, I'll write that review separately, and I needed something that was not greasy. The salad, it wasn't a traditional Greek salad but I did definitely appreciate it. Since the rest of the menu is rather limited and mostly pizza and burgers, I didn't know if it would be good. I'm kind of picky about lettuce. It was good though and I ate every bite, and also a slice of my daughter's pizza. The food overall was not very special and I wouldn't recommend making a trip here just for the food. But since we hadn't made a special trip here for the food I'm not taking off any points for that! It's a fun environment; the bands, the maximalist decor, the signed photos from so, so many musicians and bands that have played there over the years. Plus nearly every inch of the wood has been carved with the initials or names or messages from customers. I spent some time looking but only scratched the surface (so to speak) of exploring it all. The women's bathroom was a little bizarre, and according to the guys in my group the men's was even stranger. Everything was clean and functional so that was good. We all had a great time. My daughter bought a sweatshirt. On the train back to Omaha the conductor smiled and said "oh, the Little Bear Saloon? That's in Evergreen, right? Oh, I know that place!" He chuckled. I'm going to bet that there are a lot of people who can chuckle at their memories of the Little Bear Saloon.

The Secret's Out: Why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge is Our Forever Favorite…read moreFor a few years now, my wife and I have considered this place our little "under-the-radar" sanctuary. But let's be honest--when a spot is this good, a secret stays a secret for about as long as a fresh loaf of their bread lasts on a table. (Which is to say: not long at all.) Here is why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge remains our absolute go-to: * The Vibe: The atmosphere strikes that perfect, rare balance between sophisticated and soulful. Whether you're there for a quiet morning reflective coffee or a lively evening drink, the ambiance just works. * The Bread (Oh, The Bread!): It's the undisputed star of the show. It's consistent, artisanal, and frankly, addictive. If you haven't tried it yet, consider this your formal intervention. * More Than Just a Bakery: They consistently turn out dishes that are as thoughtful as they are delicious. From the first bite to the last sip of coffee, you can tell the kitchen actually cares. * The People: A restaurant can have great decor, but it's the staff that gives it a heart. The team here couldn't be warmer or more attentive; they make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. The Verdict? If you're looking for a spot that nails the transition from "morning bakery bliss" to "evening lounge elegance," this is it. We're already counting down the days until our next visit. Highly recommended--just don't be surprised if you have to fight us for a seat!

The location is pretty, but the noise level was crazy loud. There was a particularly noisy table with guys shouting and the rest of the restaurant had to yell to be heard. We had to shout our order to the staff just to be heard. The tables are wobbly--noticed several with plastic shims to help balance, and no, they don't take care of it before you sit down. We asked and the guy nearly tipped over our drinks on us. Started with our drinks. Ordered some specialty drinks and they left the Sprite out of what we ordered. They brought a carafe of Sprite and they had run out of syrup so it was club soda. They remade the drinks and all was well. Burrata appetizer was trying too hard. Too much going on with flavors. It was just okay. Lamb ragu was cooked well, but lacked flavor. Mussels, hopefully, won't get me sick. I had a bad batch and one mussel that was so bad that I had to spit it out and it soured my appetite so much so that I didn't order anything as a replacement. Paella special was over cooked. And the pasta primavera tasted like a curry. The best item of the night was the beet salad. When we got our check, it was crazy expensive for four people. $250! And that was with only one alcoholic drink! They also didn't take my mussels off the tab, which we had to point out and they corrected right away. Also didn't help that we could visually see our server complaining to the other servers about us. We were absolutely polite and kind to everyone helping and still left a nice tip because we've both worked in restaurants. It's a pretty location with overpriced food that isn't that tasty and a server who doesn't understand that when things get messed up, it's the restaurants job to remedy it--especially for the price that customers have to pay! Ridiculous.
