We ate here in September 2023. Server was attentive. Food was abundant & delicious! Not one issue here, unless you don't like to take leftovers home. The bean dip served with chips was tasty but slightly different flavor than the refried beans. Carnitas were great! Super burrito huge. Relleno side was tasty and sauce tasted home made. First happy hour Rita drinks were a bit watery on the mix which was fine with me because I don't like them too sweet- still had enough tequila. Second were from a fresh batch and stronger. We came in here for a quick dinner because my niece and nephew wanted to go to Wild Game. Located in the same building, it made sense for what we wanted to get done. Early for dinner on a Sunday night, it was on the slower side due to the massive snowstorm happening over the weekend. Immediately seated, we were provided with chips and salsa, along with what can only be described as a cabbage/vegetable slaw with a vinegar base. Delicious, really acidic. The salsa was a little spicy but also quite delicious. Chips didn't last too long at our table. Started out with an order of queso. Came out and it wasn't too hot but it allowed the kids to dig right in. Some peppers here, not very spicy but watching my niece and nephew pound away at this made me happy since I love queso. Both kids had the children's beef burrito. One with cheese, one without. The without came with plenty of sauce, covered the plate but my nephew ate it like a champion. My niece loved hers as well. Almost too fast she was full quickly. I ordered the chori pollo, was leaning toward the mole chicken but was advised it was on the sweeter side and as a diabetic that's never good for me. Glad I did, the dish was a hefty portion and I couldn't stop eating it until it was gone, minus the beans and rice- which also are hefty portions for each entree. My brother ordered the fish tacos, looked very tasty. We obviously loved the meal. I don't live here but I'll be back and ready for more of that chicken! Service was excellent and I was super happy. This is the second time coming here. I can say what I ordered this time was so much better. Not that the mole enchiladas I had last time were bad, they were just alittle too sweet for me (I like my mole with a bit more spice). So this time I ordered the Mexican flag enchiladas and they were so good! The enchiladas were very flavorful and packed full of meat, so yummy. Rice and beans were good as well, it very easy to mess up bean and rice so good job on making them taste good! We also ordered the bean dip for our chips at the beginning and I ham say I've never had bean dip quite as good. Chips are fresh and the salsa was flavorful and fresh as well. I was ready to not go to this restaurant ever again after the first time but I'm glad I went back and tried something else. I didn't get a margarita this time around but everyone at my table did and they looked amazing as well. Two were mango and the third was guava I think. They all looked so yummy! It took 10-15 minutes to deliver the 5th meal (Tortilla Soup) to the table. Rushed to catch up, the guest asked the soup be put in a "to-go" container. In less time than the wait for the soup, the forgotten container of soup had been trashed at 5:15PM. Apparently, no "I'm sorry" or "How we can make that up to you?" was in the rudimentary manager training program. We will make sure we (nor our friends, and hopefully Yelp! readers) won't make the same mistake. Yelp requires a star otherwise one would not have been left. read more

My experience with the service the two times I've been here has been really great. Everyone was friendly and chatty and so helpful so that's always appreciated. :) I did have a burrito the first time I came and it was honestly a 2/5 for me but I gave this place a second chance recently and really enjoyed the Mexican Flag Enchiladas. The margaritas we had were well made also and it was a much improved experience so I wanted leave a good review. Parking is free and really easy so no worries there. It's in an interesting location since it shares a lobby with a game arcade but I really like the atmosphere in there. It's just a little tucked back there from the main road so use your GPS haha read more

I recommend sitting at the bar with Leo. His service was fast and friendly. Delicious Mexican hamburger that was cooked perfectly medium with the taste of a charcoal grill. Complimentary salsa and beans to start won be over from the jump but the main course did not disappoint. read more

Still a great place with delicious hot fresh food that really tastes 'Mexican', and the service again was fast and super friendly. Apparently they've had a falling out with the landlord and will be moving very soon if not already to a spot across the street next to the Wild Game. The day we were here, there were garbage trucks and street cleaners circling around for like 20 minutes, pretty much ruined our otherwise great experience on their dog friendly patio. Restaurant did not seem packed but our waiter seemed overwhelmed. Our host who treated us shared a meal and requested larger plates than the very small ones provided and the waiter responded that he wasn't sure they had larger plates. then my meal came out on an absolutely enormous plate. I asked for a more spicy salsa (which most Mexican places serve automatically) and the only option they had was a Habanero salsa. I waited a good 8 minutes at the front before I saw anyone and there weren't even cars in the lot. We go several times a month so I took the time to check out the menu again and decided on the two item dinner combo which you can get with either 1, 2 or 3 items. When a man came out I told him a to go order and that I wanted 2 , no make that the three item menu and I asked for flautas. Then he said no I could only have two. I showed him his menu which clearly states 1, 2 or 3 items and flautas were a selection. He looks at me and yells, yes he shouts "Get out! Get out! I will not serve you! Get out!" I left. Not good. We got there and the restaurant was mostly empty. The host asked us if we wanted to sit a booth, we said yes. When we got into the dining rooom that only had two other people eating and lots of empty booths he told us no booths were available and we had to sit at a table. No problem. Waitress comes over and I ask if they have a margarita menu because we weren't provided one, she takes over 5 minutes to get us a menu our host should have given us. Then we tried to order cheese dip and was told they are out of cheese dip. Honestly, what Mexican restaurant is out of cheese dip this seems like a common staple. Casa Tequilas is amazing. The food is great - family owned business that uses their grandmother's recipes. Also the ambiance is really nice. The bar area is cool and bartenders super friendly. Also the dining area has a fire place and they even have live music sometimes. Next door attached is Wild Game, with bowling and an arcade. This is a great spot for a fun night out with family or friends. My favorite thing so far that I've tried is the quest fundido along with the steak and shrimp fajitas. We put the cheese with the fajitas, wow so good. Also the carne asada quesadillas. And the house Chardonnay is great also, and I never typically drink house wine. 10/10 for me! If you desire American-Mexican food, it's hard to go wrong at Casa Tequilas. They have a huge menu offering everything you would normally expect, including a diverse drink menu. I really like the steak or chicken fajitas, as the meat is marinated and seared to perfection. Nice crispy bits of meat and onion dance on your dance buds. The queso with chorizo is also a solid choice and goes well with the aforementioned fajitas, or own their own with chips or fresh tortillas. I do not recommend the enchiladas however, but many other things on the menu are great. A solid choice if you have the hankering for this type of cuisine. read more

Found a string in my dish. It looks like it was from a sweater. Service at front desk is terrible. The older woman who wrote down my order wrote everything down wrong, she was very unprofessional with her outfit as well. Dressed for a stripclub not a family restaurant. I decided to order takeout to go but they messed up everything. The side salad had no lettuce, only carrots, celery and tomatoes. There were no chips. The deluxe sour cream and guacamole side was two tablespoons at most for $5. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

We stopped for lunch today. The food was good. However they have starting to charge an additional 3.99 % on all credit card purchases. Cash is the only other option. Since we don't carry cash that much this left us digging through purse and pockets for the bill. This policy seems to discriminate against credit card customers. Poor business decision. This may very well be THE place to hang out in Evergreen on Friday nights. It was definitely busy when we arrived. The house margarita is GREAT. No sweet and sour mix used- yea! I had the carnitas plate and it was a bit dry but it did come with guacamole and I was able to fix up some nice tacos. Hubs had the beef fajitas and they were pretty good- seemed like they were cooked in a lot of oil that wasn't really necessary, IMO. Service was pretty bad in the bar. We had to find someone to take our order and ask for our check several times, but there was a 25 person party next to us ordering lots of shots and drinks so I'll give them a bit of a pass. read more

WARNING!! PSA, even if you are driving back from a hike in the mountains, famished, as we were, do not stop to eat at this restaurant. We could have tolerated the excruciatingly slow service had the meal been of even sub-standard quality. This is the worst dining experience both my boyfriend and I could recall. I ordered veggie fajitas, the vegetables were a served on a cold iron skillet and were clearly nothing more than a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, heated in a microwave and swimming in water. The rest of the meal went downhill from there. Everything was served cold, tasteless and watery. Mexican food is one of the easiest things to make at least marginally tasty. How they were able to present us with such an awful meal must have taken them serious effort. In all seriousness this place is AWFUL!! read more

Update. I moved my review down to three stars. We've been here five or six times and we've almost always had pretty decent food. We came in on a Sunday and I don't know what's going on but the food came out luke warm and greasy. Pretty disappointing. All of us had major stomach issues the next day. I had asked if my meat was undercooked and asked them to cook it a bit more. The server explained that the reason it looked like that (raw in the middle??) was because of the taco seasoning. The cheese dip (known as queso in Texas) was velvety, spicy and delicious. Huge portion. I had the pork shanks with spicy mole. WOW! The best I've had. And tender.... yum. Husband had his go-to, The Burtito Jalisco. Finally a burrito filled with meats, shrimp and peppers and onions, like it's supposed to be, with "cheese sauce" on top, not green chili. He loved it. This place might as well be called "Casa de Jacquelyn". I'd eat here everyday if I could. While driving back home to Denver from Keystone, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this Colorado gem. I'm a Texas native and have a lot of family in California, so Mexican food is one of my go to favorites. If you want FOOD POISONING come here! Me and a couple of girl friends came here to celebrate a birthday. Two out of three of us where puking and other stuff within 3 hours. We got chicken enchiladas with red sauce. BEWARE! We called to try to tell them so no one else would get sick and to get our money back, but they were rude and could care less. I went here tonight for dinner and the service and food was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, great portion sizes, and the house margarita had fresh lime juice. I had the lamb shanks with mole sauce...The lamb shank was very good and tender. It dripped off the bone as it should and I had no fat. We also tried the chicken shanks with mole. Another great dish that is not common at a Mexican restaurant. I felt like this restaurant was trying to do more authentic dishes then other Mexican restaurants. The mole sauce was home made and had just the right amount of chocolate and mole flavor. Really a great meal! I would recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants great food that seems more authentic. Service was very good and prompt. read more

I struggled to give three stars tonight. I came here with my wife for a bit of a late dinner. We arrived around 8:00 on a Friday evening and Tequila's still had plenty of business. That notwithstanding, the service was quite inattentive. We got seated right away, but a solid 5 minutes passed before anyone else came by. That was the chip and salsa guy. Another few minutes before we met our server. We ordered drinks and food and it being a Mexican restaurant, it came fairly promptly. My plate had apparently been sitting for a few minutes. Not cold, but not as hot as it should have been. After good conversation we were through with our plates before we saw the server again. She was all too eager to bring the check and wrap up her day. I'll admit that maybe it's a bit challenging to serve people after 8 on a Friday, but that's just the nature of the biz. I'd expect full, attentive service until the last customer is out the door.
