The food was excellent, the waitress had so many writing pens in her apron she would have made Pancho Via envious with his bullet belt. The owner showed up, and was courteous and humble. He admitted the real boss was back home. It was a very down home, America style, Italian experience. read more

We live in Evergreen and have visited Tuscany Tavern on numerous occasions. Service and food are always great. Only issue was an order for an Old Fashioned not using their house bourbon. It was not worth $19. I now only order a beer with the food as it is more reasonable. I highly recommend this joint. read more

Good Italian food in an unlikely spot! Unusual Italian flatbread served with garlic butter was fun. House salads and Caeser salads satisfied all. After 2 previous visits to Tuscany , we decided to give this local restaurant one more try. The food was horrible. The spaghetti sauce was thin and watery and left a puddle at the bottom of the bowl. The meatball was dry. The seafood four cheese fettuccini sauce was also thin and very bland. The pesto tortellini was way too heavy on the pesto. No one in our party enjoyed their meal. After our last and third visit, we will never go back. It's too bad because the ambiance is pleasant and the wine list is good. This place is super cute and charming with an outdoor seating area facing a lake. When you come in the serve you with complimentary warm bread and garlic herb butter. My sister and I both ordered pasta dishes with side salads. The salads were okay, but the pasta dishes were both bland. The service here was good and the prices were reasonable. read more

I am writing about this location as I have been here with family recently and wanted to make sure I wrote about dinner here with my brother and his 3 kids. First off, our server Keeley (sorry if I butchered the spelling) was patient, kind, and professional with our group Having 3 young kids is not easy in any setting, but we did our best to keep to ourselves. Fresh baked bread came out with seasoned butter. Can it get any better for you? While we were devouring the bread, we decided that a few people wanted different items so we all went in different directions to see what worked. I had the lasagna, my brother had the chicken ceasar, and the youngest had cheese pizza, the middle one had spaghetti and one meatball (which I am pretty sure he ate in one bite haha) and the oldest couldn't decide so she got chicken parm that came with spaghetti, and then a side of the fettucine with quattro formaggi sauce. That side dish was the first to go. It was super tasty and rich. Glad we only had a side of it- most of the kids (and I) were going after that. My lasagna came with a side salad that was really well done. Their homemade creamy Italian dressing is so delicious they should bottle it up and sell it retail (I can help!). For dessert the kids went after the brownie sundae. It's tough to say whether they got equal amounts of it, but I would bet on the oldest that she got the majority of it lol. Thanks to Tuscany Tavern for also realizing one child left a retainer there and held onto it when we drove back. SO GRATEFUL! Whenever I am back in town you can bet I'll ask to eat here again. A local favorite for sure but I was not expecting to have such an amazing dish that months later I was still salivating when I think about it. The Shrimp in Vodka sauce meal was a "something new" for me. And oh man! Every bite was amazing. I should have shared it but I didn't. I closed my eyes and savored the flavors and textures of every single bite. I tried 3 more times visiting back and could not find this on the menu so I asked our precious server. Ordered two drinks from the bar and they came to the table absurdly made. Soda water in the gin/soda was totally flat, ordered Aperol Spritz and they made with white wine instead of Prosecco.... asked for it to be remade- same thing arrived back at table. Two pasta dishes arrived- very strange flavors in both. Could tell ingredients were not fresh- all frozen or canned vegetables. one dish was so covered in sauce you couldn't find the pasta. Flavors were just way off on both- for an $83 meal- it was about the worst we've had in recent memory. Ambiance and server were very good. Salad and Soup were also very good. Probably the best Caesar salad around. They make the dressing homemade as well as their creamy Italian dressing. Both are home runs! Service was great and the inside was that of old Italy. This is a Colorado staple for us. We come here every time we come back to Colorado. It is a great, classic Italian restaurant with nice staff, an expansive menu, and huge portions. If you get a pasta dish, it will come with a soup or salad- they rotate their soup often and I have never had the same one twice. If I am not excited about their current soup, I will get a salad with blue cheese (they have amazing blue cheese). I have tried everything from their eggplant, chicken pastas, shrimp scampi, and more. I have never had anything I didn't like, and can't remember a time I didn't bring home half of my entree because they are huge. The bread they bring out to the table is great as well, and it comes with a really good garlic butter on the side. They have plenty of seating both indoor, outdoor, and at the bar. They have lots of parking outside and always have some sports games on on their TVs. They have a private room in the back for parties (we have done this several times as well). read more

Food prices keep going up, everywhere. Restaurants are no different. This isn't a cheap place, appetizers, dinner, a glass of wine, dessert for two is going to be right around a hundred bucks, before tax and tip. Still, the food is very good, especially the appetizers. They have the best coconut shrimp. All their dinners are delicious. I'm not that fond of Al dente pasta, like they serve it. I like my pasta cooked a little longer. I know that they want to be Italian, so if that's the case how about some Italian background music? We used to eat there more often when it was cheaper, just a few years ago. Oh, that was during the previous Administration. My experience wasn't the best. I had dinner with 6 people and the waitress (who was very cordial) brought us a bread board with 2 small strips of bread that, divided up, left us each with a two-bite piece. I was shocked at this but I asked for more bread... and got another 2 little strips of bread. I ordered the Chicken Scallopini. It wasn't terrible but the 2 smallish pieces of chicken were a bit overcooked and dry, and the sauce didn't have a lot of flavor. There was a small serving of pasta with it. We didn't have any Parmesan cheese at the table either, strange for an Italian restaurant I thought. read more

I am surprised by some of the high reviews for this restaurant. Maybe it's just the time when we came here but I was not very impressed. We were taking a ride out to Echo Lake Park on a Sunday afternoon and decided to stop by here and eat at around 12:45 pm. We walked in and the place was mostly empty. We had walked through the back entrance so walked up to the front to be seated. The waiter up front seemed less than enthusiastic to be there. But he seated us and promptly got us our drinks. But again he basically acted as if he didn't want to be there, and he pretty much did that through our entire visit. One nice aspect is there is complimentary bread which comes with the meal. The bread was actually not too bad and had a good flavor, and so did the butter that came with it. Unfortunately, it kind of went down hill from there. I ordered the Chicken Montagna pasta and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Both of the meals we received did not taste very good. The sauce my pasta was in, which was their house four cheese sauce, had a bit of a chemical taste and not very much flavor. And I had thought there were going to be bites of chicken in the pasta but instead the pasta was sitting over two chicken breasts and the chicken tasted like it was previously frozen and had no flavor at all. My boyfriend tried it and he agreed. I tasted a bite of his Chicken Parm and the breading and chicken flavor was also pretty off putting. And he said his side of mashed potatoes tasted like the kind that come from the box, and little flavor. Overall not a great experience which is unfortunate for the area as there are so many places to eat. It's a bit further from the smaller tourist area which may be why it doesn't get a lot of people in, but I had high hopes based on reviews. In any case we probably won't return. read more

For many many years my family and I keep coming back here every so often with the best of intentions hoping we will like this spot. Unfortunately every time we have gone our meal has fallen a little flat or been a bit disappointing for us. I had a salmon special and found the salmon to be a bit tough, my mom had a pasta and found the sauce to be a bit "soupy" and lacking of flavor, and my dad had a simple classic of spaghetti, said it was fine but nothing special. We had dinner here on a Saturday night with friends. We had high hopes for the restaurant due to recent reviews but it didn't quite live up to our expectations. DECOR: a cozy, warm and inviting restaurant just as you expected from an Italian restaurant. It's dimly lit so good spot for romantic dinners. It's got a rustic charm we fell in love once we entered. FOOD: the menu features classy Italian comfort food from fettuccine, lasagna to pizza. If you enjoy satisfying and rich Italian food this is your spot! We had to ask for bread since our hostess forgot to bring it to us after our soup/salad. The chicken soup of the day was pretty amazing! My crab cakes were pretty good except the crab meat didn't taste very fresh mixed in with so many other vegetables bits. The risotto that came with was an extremely cream and rich, didn't go well with the already cream crab cakes. My husband's pomadora with shrimp was fantastic! The bottle of wine we had was delicious as well. SERVICE: this is where they need to work on hence the three stars. First we waited for our bread while seeing other tables eating theirs. Then our main entrées took a long time when other tables were already enjoying their food who got there after us! The service makes or breaks a dining experience. In our case, it could've been much better if we didn't wait so long for our food to arrive. VERDICT: this restaurant serves classic rich Italian food. It's right off of I-70 in Evergreen and it's great for intimate dinners if you don't mind the slow service. read more

I had the special, Chicken Cordon Bleu, which had tender chicken and a sauce/filling which was not very cheesy. The side salad was a good amount of romaine with a tomato slice and a couple of cucumber sllices. The side of thick balsamic dressing was so thick it stayed on top of the salad. Stirring it in would have caused lettuce to fall from the bowl. The friend's chicken parmesan was okay. Again, the chicken was nicely cooked. I like a fair amount of sauce, which it didn't have. I came to Yelp to check reviews for the pizza, which we were tempted to try tomorrow. We are going to pass. read more

This is our go-to place for good Italian food at a very reasonable price. We like to sit in the bar and watch the sports on TV, but I also enjoy coming here for lunch with friends, especially during the warm months when we can sit outside on the nice patio (you'd never know you were right next to a busy highway). I absolutely love their bruschetta--different from any other I've ever had. Their pizza is the best in town, their shrimp scampi and lasagna are wonderful, and the chicken piccata is very tasty. I know times are tough and it's hard to find good help, however...... heed this warning. The food was awful and the service not much better. It Took about 20 mins for us to Get our wine another 20 to get our salads (which were not bad) and about 40 minutes to get our entrees. I ordered the chicken montagna. I asked for the angel hair pasta but got the penne. The sauce was ok but the chicken was bland and I got a few subdried tomato's. My husband ordered the Cioppino. Instead of a well developed reduced fish broth it was more like a tasteless spagetti sauce. The seafood was frozen and sparse. Overall a fail on both entrees. The only redeeming quality of this place was the bread. All in all a 90 dollar fail. read more

I came here for the first time last week and thought it was delicious! Came back today and it was like a totally different meal. Had the Fettuccine Alfredo both times the first time was creamy and delicious and salty and cheesy and the pasta was flavorful and Al Dente. This time the sauce was bland and just tasted like flour. No cheese flavor and no amount of salt helped. The pasta was gummy and over cooked. Salad was on a warm plate. I was so excited that I had found a local spot for good pasta. Goodness, I'd love to give more stars in these difficult times ... staff and supply chains are hard to keep in shape and in service. But many of the items, including wine, appetizers, and entrees were simply not available the Saturday night of our visit. The food was solid but not outstanding, and the service barely committed.
