If you're looking for a historic saloon for a beer and shot this is your place! No fancy cocktails and foo foo drinks but cool history with a live music venue and bar food.

Fun town and fun location. Stop in for some drinks with friends and some live music. Great local spot, so come over and enjoy an afternoon or evening with friends.

Me and the girls in our thrifted wedding dresses!

I had my bachelorette weekend up in Evergreen, and after plans of going out to Denver fell through, Evergreen bars were the only option. My girls and I had thrifted wedding dresses to go out in. The first bar we went to was very awkward and not lively, but as soon as we stepped into Little Bear the love band brought us on stage, the bartenders were so fun and talkative and the owner went out of his way to congratulate me on my upcoming wedding. Despite being nervous on the atmosphere of a mountain town bar, I had one of the most fun nights. We made some amazing memories and the live band was amazing. I felt so very celebrated by the staff and danced the night away. Would 100% recommend this bar for a fun night out!

Got love a salmon that has motorcycle only parking.

Great little venue in the beautiful town of Evergreen, CO. This bar/restaurant is a cross between a biker bar and an old western saloon. The bar is covered with license plates from across the country and has bras hanging from the ceiling. They feature live music most days of the week which we found really entertaining. We went there for the opening day of the season, they hadn't been open for almost a year since COVID. Despite how busy the restaurant was and the few wait staff that were available they had great customer service. The menu is moderate, don't expect any gourmet meals here, it's a burger and taco joint. Both the drinks and the food were good. Perfect refreshments for an afternoon ride on the Harley. The great thing is this establishment is only an hour outside of Denver so you can be up there in no time and the scenery on the way is absolutely stunning. If you drive slow and take your time you're likely to see plenty of milk and mule deer. If you check out their webpage you can get an idea of what entertainment they have on what days. And if you have out-of-town family or friends this will definitely be a great place to take them for lunch or dinner to give them that feel of old Colorado!

Goosetown Station is a unique experience. It combines the cool vibe of the grassy setting of Fiddler's Green with the experience of listening to music with friends in an intimate garden setting. The photos I've seen posted so far are misleading. They are outdated pictures of a place that no longer exists. And current pictures don't communicate the vibe. Goosetown Station has evolved to a one-of-a-kind music venue. It has a lot of moving parts that work well together to bring you a music experience that will stay with you long after you leave. But because it's always changing, evolving, improving, what I tell you about the place may change when you visit. But however the place is when you visit, you can be guaranteed your experience will be enjoyable and memorable. PARKING ======== There is parking on the street in front of Goosetown Station. The street is a dead end. If you can't find parking on that street, there is a free, open, public parking lot a 1/2 a block away. There is also public parking one block over in the other direction, across from Ford street. You can park there and walk across the footbridge to get to Goosetown Station. ADMISSION ========== When I walked up the incline to the entrance to the house I was greeted by a young woman who told me they take cash or Venmo. (I read a previous review that said they don't do cash. That's changed.) HANDICAP ACCESS ================ If you are wheelchair bound, the place is set up with no stairs leading to the house. There is seating inside the house and also a full bar and bathrooms. From the inside of the house you cannot see the stage and I'm not sure if they pipe the music from the stage into the house, but they should for those who want to sit inside. There is also comfortable seating on the side of the house in an area you walk through to get to the back where the stage is. I don't remember if there are stairs between the front entrance and this side seating area. If not, it's a comfortable, covered area where you can sit, hear the music and see the stage. SEATING AREAS ============= From the pictures I saw before I went, I imagined this place to be a house with a stage in its small backyard with a patio area to sit and watch the band. I was pleasantly shocked when I walked around the side of the house and entered the backyard. It's a huge area. There is a main grassy seating area with comfortable couches, groups of seats and lots of firepits. There is a huge tented area in one corner of the backyard. There are clusters of seats along the side and a table in a covered area with vines growing up the wall. There is a covered seating area with a firepit next to the outside bar and a large, isolated, sandy play area for children and their parents in another corner of the yard. BARS ===== There is a fully stocked bar to the right when you enter the building. There is a bar in the back and sometimes, depending on the crowds, they set up a bar in the front with beer and wine. I was able to use Apple Pay at the bar. FAMILIES WELCOME ================ This place is kid friendly. There were several young children and their parents attending the concert the night I went. As I mentioned there is a whole sandy play area with toys in a corner of the backyard. FOOD ===== They try to have food trucks to provide something to eat while you listen to music. The night I was there they were having a dispute with the city of Golden who didn't want food trucks parked on their streets (even though the street in front of Goosetown Station is a dead end.) So they offered Anthony's pizzas and had chips and hummus. The food they offer isn't meant to be your main meal as much as just something to help you not have an empty stomach if you're drinking alcohol. MUSIC ====== The quality of the band was outstanding. They played at a volume that was just enough to fill the backyard. They weren't trying to rock the neighborhood but the sound was sufficient to be heard over the quiet conversations of the guests. "THE FEEL" ========= At the risk of sounding sexist, this place feels like it was designed by women. In fact I only saw one man working the venue. He was the bartender inside. Other than that it was women attending to the visitors. I say it seems like women designed this place because it looked like it was deliberately planned to be comfortable, charming, welcoming and beautiful. The details of this place speak of someone who wants to create an atmosphere that goes beyond utility. Even the bathrooms are nicely decorated with candles burning. If you go to Goosetown Station, enjoy yourself and please don't change anything. It's perfect just the way it is. (Check out my pictures to see how this place looks now.)

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

The Secret's Out: Why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge is Our Forever Favorite…read moreFor a few years now, my wife and I have considered this place our little "under-the-radar" sanctuary. But let's be honest--when a spot is this good, a secret stays a secret for about as long as a fresh loaf of their bread lasts on a table. (Which is to say: not long at all.) Here is why Evergreen Bread & Cocktail Lounge remains our absolute go-to: * The Vibe: The atmosphere strikes that perfect, rare balance between sophisticated and soulful. Whether you're there for a quiet morning reflective coffee or a lively evening drink, the ambiance just works. * The Bread (Oh, The Bread!): It's the undisputed star of the show. It's consistent, artisanal, and frankly, addictive. If you haven't tried it yet, consider this your formal intervention. * More Than Just a Bakery: They consistently turn out dishes that are as thoughtful as they are delicious. From the first bite to the last sip of coffee, you can tell the kitchen actually cares. * The People: A restaurant can have great decor, but it's the staff that gives it a heart. The team here couldn't be warmer or more attentive; they make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. The Verdict? If you're looking for a spot that nails the transition from "morning bakery bliss" to "evening lounge elegance," this is it. We're already counting down the days until our next visit. Highly recommended--just don't be surprised if you have to fight us for a seat!

We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.
