    Chili cheese fries
    Miranda E.

I was hoping that we'd love this place because we pass it often when we hike in the mountains. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our dreams and expectations. We each got a cheeseburger and shared a strawberry shake and chili cheese fry, and my boyfriend tried the chili cheese dog. The burgers were decent, but the bread they were on couldn't withstand the liquid and it was a bit soggy, even though we ate our food right away. The fries were great, but they were about what you'd expect from fast food chili cheese fries. The shake was just okay. It was like a cold Nesquik strawberry milk. My boyfriend ate the dog with no complaints so I'm assuming that was okay as well. We both agreed that we would eat there again if we were starving, but it's probably better to just wait until you get to town.

Hamburgers are great! Perfect drive - through snack or meal. I had the plain cheeseburger, my son had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with grilled onions. Both were yummy!

The burgers are on point. You can tell the patty is made with fresh meat. The pork, & potato burrito is very tasty also.

Their smothered breakfast burritos are pretty good. A little gringo (not hot enough) for me but tasty and reasonably priced.

The only thing I didn't like as much was the hashbrowns, they were just okay. I also ordered the jalapeño bread French toast (recommended by our server). I love jalapeño flavor, but I remember thinking it sounded kind of weird for French toast... but I'm glad I tried it because it was so good. They make their breads in-house and I would definitely get that again. I also tried some of my friend's banana bread and that was really delicious too. Didn't get a chance to try these since we had to get to the hot springs soon so thought it's too much food to finish in time, but they had a French toast flight and a Benedict flight, which I've never seen before. Pretty cool, I love anything where you can try multiple flavors. Overall, would reccomend this brunch spot in Idaho Springs. Would come back!

A Fun, Bustling Spot with a Fantastic Breakfast!…read more We had a great breakfast at Main Street Restaurant. It's a fun, cozy little place with a lot of hustle and bustle--you can tell it's a popular spot! The staff was friendly and working hard, keeping tables moving. The food was fantastic. Their breakfast menu is impressive, especially if you're an Eggs Benedict fan. I had the Brazilian Benedict, which was creative and delicious, and my wife loved her Pancake Flight--a fun way to try a few different kinds. They have over ten types of Benedicts, including a "Flight of the Benedicts" and a huge list of specialty omelets and creative pancakes. It's clear they focus on quality, using organic eggs and homemade English muffins. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back next time we're passing through Idaho Springs.

They are consistently great, which is why you'll almost always find the place buzzing with energy. The location is fantastic--it's situated right next to Bear Creek, providing a cool, relaxing atmosphere that really captures the mountain vibe. As for the food, it's excellent across the board. The breakfast scrambles are a highlight, topped with fresh sauces and served with perfectly crispy hash brown medallions. Their smothered burritos are another must-try, loaded with melted cheese and served with fresh sides. Beyond the plate, the staff is always wonderful, making you feel welcome even when they are slammed. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a staple for a reason. Rating:

Blackbird is cutesy and inviting with brightly painted exterior (featuring butterflies and sunflowers), cozy and wooded interior, with one hell of a Creekside view. The layout inside is a little awkward - and entrance is right near the kitchen. However, we maneuvered to a table in the corner near the window - with a nice, sunny view and was greeted by a friendly face who gave us a rundown of the specials and allowed us ample time to peruse the menu. We decided to sip on Arnold palmers and split The Rachel - essentially a Turkey Ruben with a side of fries and sweet potato fries - because two types of fries is always the right choice! Within about 10 minutes, our food arrived, which was just what the doctor ordered. Splitting the meal was perfect, as the sandwich was huge. Mom's fries were delicious while my sweet potato fries were a little burnt, but still yummy. Service was friendly, welcoming and accommodating to our lunch date. Pricing is on point and reasonable for a cute mountain town. I'd easily return!

If you like a juicy burger with incredible taste, this is the place to go. Their truffle fries were just as good. I will have to go back and try the Salmon and their signature cocktails. The only negative, and this is not the restaurant's fault, is that the parking is horrible. Luckily, we went on a weekday in the winter, so we were able to park about a block away. There are a few paid parking spots, but it will cost about $10 for 2 hours if you use the QR code on your phone. If you can get to the restaurant, it's well worth it. We all got breakfast because a great perk of this cafe is that many meals come with a pancake. The sweet and salty breakfast combo was ideal. Their skillet meals were fantastic. Unfortunately the service and food were average at best. Our waiter seemed rushed and barely made eye contact or stopped at our table. The burger and chicken sandwich were fine.
