Georgetown itself is the cutest little town with a walkable downtown area. We stopped in here on our way back from hiking Silver Dollar Lake. They were busy when we stopped in on a Saturday morning - busier than usual because apparently the other coffee shop was closed. The staff was apologetic for the chaos but they did an awesome job holding it down! I got an iced vanilla latte, the breakfast sandwich on bagel, and a donut. The donuts are from a local baker and they were delicious! The coffee was also very good. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich but I think I didn't realize it did not automatically come with cheese. That's on me, so this is my tip to you - it's delicious and would be even better with cheese. There is a little bit of seating inside but a ton of seating outside, which was perfect because it was a nice day. You should definitely stop in if you happen to find yourself in Georgetown. Small, local establishment with bar and table seating. I got Mama's breakfast sandwich on a croissant - egg, cheese, and your choice of sausage, ham, bacon, or veggies. I'm the furthest thing from a health nut you could imagine, but went with veggies wanting to give my hard working heart a tiny bit of a break! I expected sautéed, but it was basically an arugula salad under the egg. Greens, red onion, bell pepper, tomatoes... how does this work? AMAZING! DELICIOUS! Best bite I've had in months. MMNT's is a female owned small business. These women work their tales off and kept things running smoothly when we stopped in for brunch. There were folks waiting to be seated before, during and after our meal. They greeted us along with everyone else waiting and managed to get us all seated fairly fast. Orders looks amazing as they were brought out and the buzz of happy customers chatting together filled the air. This place is quite the brunch stop and there is lots to look at, as you wait. They have baked goods, cocktails, nick knacks to take away with you, and a very cool red sofa to settle into, if you need to wait for seating. We saw homemade jams, pickled peppers, and freeze dried candies to temp you. Need something quick to take on your hike - they've got you covered here too. We came in with breakfast on our minds and weren't disappointed. Everything was fresh, made to order and plated really well. Zero complaints. Just wish we lived closer! read more

I stopped by MMNT on my drive back from Vail. Georgetown is one of my favorite places to eat. I feel like that's still somewhat of a secret!? It's never super busy when I'm in town. I met up with a friend and we were immediately seated. Things felt rushed and hectic, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly crowded. They have so many delicious-sounding things on their menu, and we were fortunately just in time for lunch because I was specifically craving their BLTA. SO good!! My second option would have been their Italian Sandwich. My friend didn't enjoy the soup or sandwich he got, which is a bummer. I'd come back again, though. They also sell baked goods, and I was tempted to get some before leaving. Next time! According to other Yelpers, their Grilled Cheese is amazing so I'm adding that to my list of things to try. Parking is never really super challenging in Georgetown (yet) so take advantage and support this local business next time you drive by. read more

Rude, Unsanitary and likely racist I have been here before with different staff and had a great experience. But I returned over Labor Day with friends from out of town and while we were waiting to be seated a current staff member walked through our group as though we were not there, walked by us another two times without acknowledging our presence, and then when a second staff person came in, she looked through us and decided to brush her hair behind the bar instead of seating us. Stopped by here on the way back down from a weekend trip for breakfast. Service was friendly but very slow - but the place was packed and we did get seated right away. I have a feeling they're picking up business from the Happy Cooker, where we used to go for breakfast and which was just horrible our last stop there - so we dropped it and that seems to be the consensus, because after breakfast, we walked around downtown and their patio was almost empty despite it being a very nice day. Anyway, the food was good, big portions, and my latte was excellent despite taking about 15 minutes to get to me. The table next to us had bagels with lox, that that looked so amazing we plan to return sometime so I can have that. We had breakfast sandies, and they were good as well. I came in after doing Bierstadt and was already like 3700 calories into the day. I didn't catch the name of the blonde waitress that morning, but she said she usually works later in the day...she was great, very attentive, engaged in conversation...really made it a better experience. There was a other waitress that was also good and one of the cooks in the back (I sat at the bar, which faces the kitchen) chatted quickly in passing as well. The food was great, I got a breakfast sandwich that was about twice the zose I was expecting along with a coffee and donut. I fought down the last half of the coffee and half thdo it, but it was worth it. I'll definitely stop in here again! We had lunch there yesterday. We each had soup & half a sandwich - but the half sandwiches were more like a full sandwich. I had tomato and roasted pepper soup. It was thick and flavorful. My husband had minestrone soup - it was filled with veggies. Both soups were garnished with cheese. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato. It was delicious and not greasy, as grilled cheese sometimes is. My husband had chicken salad, which had craisins and nuts in it. The bread was not the sourdough I had but something that looked like a small croissant. The sandwich was overflowing and had small onion slices on top. How he was supposed to put something that thick in his mouth was a mystery - as I suspected, some squished out while he ate it. The restaurant was bustling with business but the waitresses were calm and pleasant. The place is a well-oiled machine - everyone helped everyone else to bus tables, take orders, deliver food. Lemon lavender scones tasted like they were made with a base of bisquik. They were out of several things like jam for biscuits, peach tea and brownies. Many a skier finds themselves driving back on I 70 asking themselves, "where will I eat?" The signs whizz by and compete to catch your eye. You pull up your phone and stratify a mental list of restaurants with quantitative measurements. Your head swims and you collapse... You wake up back at home, hungrier than ever. You begin to gnaw at the stubs of your fingernails again... Let's cut to the chase. Just go to Mountain Mamas'! I, Ricky Sausage, and Sausage Brochacho and Cornelius Sausage stroll into Mountain Mamas' after a long day of skiing. We are immediately transported to the home of our collective grandmother. It is Christmas time here and we know that some good ol' home cooking awaits us. We are greeted coolly and invited to sit. We order our food and our drinks are brought out promptly. Speed! Sausage Brochacho has ordered the drip coffee. In between slurps, he ponders, "I just love coffee after skiing. It raised my spirit to the moon." His eyes glance heavenward and you can tell a portion of his soul has permanently ascended... In a good way! Cornelius has ordered the iced tea. As he guzzles, he offers, "these are fantastic marshmallow-shapee ice cubes." I have ordered the fluffy latte. The description of ingredients and creation process captivated me. I'm not a sweets guy, so I went out on a limb. I'm so glad I did... This latte was like drinking liquid clouds from coffee mountain in the midst of a cinnamon drizzle. We are in a faraway land - grandma's house, sipping hot beverages after playing in the snow... But wait! The food is here! Sausage Brochacho has ordered the chicken gnocchi soup. He smiles with soup dribbling out of his mouth. "The soup is hearty. The chicken is savory - I can tell he (or she) was a happy chicken. He (or she) didn't know the end was coming." Cornelius has ordered the chicken salad sandwich. "The chicken salad is good... I love the toppings and the croissant was fantastic. I never grew up eating chicken salad..." He wistfully stares into the past. Poor young Cornelius... I have also ordered the chicken salad sandwich. For some reason, I often attribute chicken/tuna/etc salad sandwiches to simplicity. This sandwich added a rich complexity with the addition of onions and tomatoes on a delicious croissant. And a little slice of grapefruit for a spritz on tartness..? Don't mind if I do! I must remark on the incredible bathroom. It felt like an enchanted forest where any frog could walk up and talk to you. The log lady portrait was a cherry on top to transport you to another land. I became the log lady lost in another world. Mountain Mamas' was a random pick within the happenstance of dropping into Georgetown. We were delighted by this wonderful surprise. By the end, we felt at home with the staff bringing out some coffee and iced tea to go. We could guzzle all the way home! Part of Sausage Brochacho's soul is now missing and Cornelius is partially trapped in the past, but it's all for the best. We WILL be coming back on future I 70 trips. This staff here couldn't have been friendlier. I walked in carrying my baby while my husband waited outside with the dog. I ordered a few baked goods and the waitress insisted on helping carry them out to our table and getting us waters. She also offered us a dog treat. A bit later another staff member brought out water for the dog. Then I needed to warm up some milk for a bottle, and they were happy to assist. So friendly and happy to help! Mountain Mamas' is quintessential small mountain town Colorado. The spot itself was clean and inviting, and the women working there were friendly without being fake. It's a charming converted old wooden house (bed and breakfast?) with a bakery and kitchen with seating inside. It's definitely made to feel more cozy than fancy. The food was unpretentious but also made with care. There's a sunny little nook with a table by the window on the west side that was perfect to soak in the rays on a cold morning. Views from there of the town and mountains were nice, if not epic. Again, it's cozy. Had the biscuits and gravy with an egg (they gave me two!) that was perfectly over easy with a runny yolk. Tall fluffy biscuits in a nice gravy. Americano was tasty and I stole a bite of my gf's quiche and drink of fancier coffee and both were delicious. Pretty sure they gave me a refill without charging. Would definitely try some of their other items next time I'm in Georgetown. We were there probably around 9:00 on a weekend and were seated fine, but it's a tiny place and they kept warning us of "the rush" to come, so seating may be hit or miss inside. If the weather permits, they have some outdoor seating in an eclectic little backyard type area. The treehouse by the creek was fun to sip coffee in, although it had no table. Was a nice place for a couple, but I could also see bringing my kids as well, so long as letting them run around outside was an option.... (Again, it's cozy.) read more

My family and I were stopping into Georgetown, one of our favorite charming towns. I haven't been since I found out I have a gluten intolerance, so I was worried not being able to find things I could eat, let alone something TASTY to eat. Walking into Mountain Mama's, the ladies working were so helpful and told me everything they had that was specialty gluten free. I got their breakfast sandwich with GF bread and it was so delicious, the eggs were cooked to perfection. Their Chai hit the spot, and they also had oat milk available! Everyone in my family said their food and coffee was excellent. The staff was so friendly, I felt like I was at home, eating food all made from scratch!
