Just a few of their delicious choices

We had the best, relaxing breakfast with some delicious coffee and choices of pastries. They even have gluten free options to choose from. Then you can enjoy and relax in their outside garden.

Veggie scramble, no cheese, chorizo burrito, gluten free/vegan bb lemon muffin & bb muffin, 2 americanos

Update: Solid 3.5 - 4 based on today's experience! Decided to try again out of convenience but much better experience. Breakfast scramble was way more tasty than veggie scramble and the passion fruit gf/vegan doughnut was delicious! Hubby enjoyed the bacon breakfast burrito way more than chorizo and we asked for extra salsa upfront which helped avoid confrontation. Americanos were yummy. Solid 3 stars. We ordered our food and although there was a line it went pretty efficiently. It gets bottlenecked but comes/goes in waves. The food was decent - not spectacularly flavored or anything and pretty small portions (scramble) but I was glad to have options. My husband asked for an extra salsa because his burrito (which seemed regular vs large portion) barely came with any inside and staff seemed reluctant to provide though we did tip 18% which I was irritated with - they set their min tip at 18% and Im sorry but there's no real service as you order at a counter and wait for your coffee. And the issue with extra salsa after we tipped over $8 was super annoying. Was glad to have a gf/vegan muffin option but it wasn't great. Husband said his regular bb muffin was the worst he's ever had and very grainy texture.

Best Biscuit and gravy I've had in Breckenridge! And I've tried them all. Fantastic gravy rich and savory with large chunks of sausage liberally plated over a perfect biscuit. Dog friendly back patio offers plenty of shade and CW music. Service was fast and friendly

Delicious coffee and drinks! Dropped by here twice during our stay in Breckenridge. Service at the register was a bit slow, but they mentioned they just switched to new systems. Staff was friendly and the environment was clean. Definitely recommend

Cozy spot with decent food, an excellent cinnamon roll, okay coffee, mixed service, and limited seating.

Amazing! It's a little hidden breakfast spot but had great reviews - they had a DJ playing music, there were locals working, and overall a great experience. The food and coffee were delicious and the staff was very helpful and nice! Would definitely come back to this spot

Great cozy coffee house with excellent patio. Cool River has a wide variety of great pastries and teas, too! This place was packed early in the morning when we were there, so we knew it's was a good find. They do veggie-forward really well. If looking for a hearty meat-forward breakfast to start your day, there may be better breakfast options off Main Street. September 2024

Service was great and the food drinks were fantastic. The line may be long but moves fast and it's well worth it.

Latte was great, but the food we got was bland. Did a sourdough breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese. Just nothing to it really.

I've been coming here since 2009, and although I'm not in town very often anymore, this has always been my go-to spot whenever I visit. It's a place where my children and I enjoy getting coffee, cinnamon rolls, or lunch, sitting down to relax, and simply spending time together. Over the years, it has become a familiar and welcoming place that feels a little like home. Unfortunately, today was the first time in all these years that I genuinely felt unwelcome. During my visit, an employee made the comment, "Boy, we just can't get rid of you, can we?" Although it was delivered in what seemed to be a joking, sarcastic manner, I found the remark inappropriate and uncomfortable. I have never had an employee here speak to me that way before. Shortly afterward, I overheard what sounded like the same employee speaking with other staff members and making a comment along the lines of, "Who is this guy?" I certainly understand that employees joke around, and I'm willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt. However, there is a difference between friendly humor and making a longtime customer feel as though their presence is an inconvenience. As a paying customer who has supported this business for more than 17 years, I would hope that I am just as welcome to come in, enjoy a coffee, sit down, and relax as anyone else. I regularly see customers spending hours here working on their laptops, socializing, or simply enjoying the atmosphere. I've always understood that to be part of what makes a coffee shop such an inviting place. I'm not asking for special treatment, nor do I expect anyone to recognize me or know how long I've been coming here. I simply expect the same courtesy, professionalism, and respect that every customer deserves. I'm leaving my five-star rating because one disappointing interaction should not erase 17 years of positive experiences. However, I sincerely hope management takes this feedback constructively. A place that has felt like a home away from home for so many years should never leave a loyal customer questioning whether they are welcome.

This place is so cute!! I can imagine on weekends or in the mornings that it is super packed out…read more They have comfortable seating and it's really small so I'm sure the lines get long We stopped in for a midday, pick me up around the time that they were closing. I saw affogato on the menu and since that is one of my favorite snacks, I had to try it. Not sure if it was the unsweetened espresso, but I didn't really like the flavor of that particular coffee and I felt like it was a little sloppy, they handed it to me with the coffee already poured over the ice cream, which if you know this dessert means those first few seconds and first couple of bites are the most precious when the hot coffee meets the cold ice cream, but hasn't fully cooled off yet itself. in the coffee itself is good quality & I'm sure I would come back and enjoy a latte again in the future!

Take Away: Be careful who you hire as a server…read more Diners can quickly forgive a one-off, mishap in a respected restaurant when it's busy. When a clueless, loud, "sing-song-y" talkin' server is added to the misfortune, it becomes apparent how the atmosphere of the meal is as important, if not more important, than the meal itself. Blue Moose is a solid, unpretentious restaurant. The serving are generous and the staff creates a family experience. There is enough variety and a nod to GF and V ingredients for all to feel at home. The prices reflect quality ingredients but stay below Breckenridge's gourmet establishments. Skiers love this place for their hearty meals. Blue Moose knows their audience. We tend to do breakfast at home but they mirror the vibe we love about Breck so from time to time we stop by. We split our time between Breckenridge and an out of state home. My husband has worked ski season on the mountain for decades, full and part-time. I waited a week to post this but should mngmnt be wondering about how diners are experiencing the service... Labor Day Sunday, busy & chilly, we were the first to say "sure" to an outdoor table. I requested extra broccoli with the garden breakfast. When it arrived the biscuit was in a pool of hot water. I quickly tilted the plate by placing an upside down spoon on one side to drain the water away from the over-easy eggs and veggies. I understood what happened. The broccoli was over steamed to the point of yellowing stems. It was plated and in the minutes it took to walk it from kitchen to table, the water was dripping off the stems and pooling on the plate. My thought process: I dislike wasting food, I did not want to get a cook scolded - stuff happens, we are smack in the middle of the patio - I am loyal to Breck businesses so did not want to call attention to the mishap and have that discussion invade the other diners' experience. "Suck it up and see if I can get a fresh bisquit" I thought as I lovingly caressed two packs of orange marmalade - a true sign of distinguished breakfast service. As the minutes ticked by I was increasingly dismayed that the pool of water was turning yellow from my over easy egg yolks. The mess was hard to miss. Our server flitted by our table a few time and I saw her look directly at my watery plate twice. Once she asked if everything was fine and we sort of nodded and I quickly raised my hand and said "May I please (have a fresh bisquit) but she kept walking after I said please. I placed the brocolli into a food storage container I typically bring for leftovers when dining out, hoping the plate could be removed ASAP. I salvaged the egg whites and enjoyed the other veggies. Man, she could talk up a storm with the other diners but kept gliding past us. I sustained my dream of a fresh, warm biscuit slathered with orange marmalade. Our Server-in-denial continued to flit. Neither of us could catch her eye. When she finally brought over the check, I pointed to my plate. OK - this is where I forgot a rhetorical question is too subtle during a biscuit crisis. "How does this happen?" I quietly asked, hunching over the plate, pointing to the yolky water and wet flour ball. I just wanted the issue acknowledged so I could get a quiet, sympathetic "Oh, no!" and fresh biscuit to go. Instead, she explained loudly, loudly, the hydraulics of brocolli that has not been drained. I raised my hand slightly, mumbling "Please stop, I know how to cook." I have never met the owner(s) but I was thinking of them and the people who are making a living from the restaurant. I did not want others to hear this conversation. Our server seemed to want everyone, 5 feet beyond normal earshot, to know that my ordering extra brocolli is the reason my plate has a pool of water, though I don't think they wanted to know about it. I was afraid to ask for a fresh biscuit as that was sure to extend the conversation and there was no telling what was going to be said around that issue. She then rushed off came back loudly announcing to the dining circle around us that she was "giving" us a "local" discount and our bill was now $40.16. Golly, gosh. We did not expect to be identified as "locals" as we don't go there often. We did not want this to be an issue as we are "local" enough to want everyone to enjoy a Breck Breakfast. But when she reappeared announcing her valor in securing us a local discount, it was ridiculously self-serving and once again we were forced to be "on stage" with her. I will be back to get that fresh biscuit to-go. Full confession: being forced to be "on stage" I lost track of the fact that I never stopped clutching the 2 marmalade packets and they are now in our fridge. Sorry about that.
