Very misleading tipping practice. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu, which was buy one, get one free. At checkout, the suggested tip showed 20% as about $12. I left a $10 tip, but after checking the receipt, I realized the suggested tips were calculated based on the full price before the Happy Hour discount, not the amount we actually paid. My $10 tip ended up being about 26% of the actual bill. The service was good, and I'm happy to tip for good service. But how much I tip should be my choice. If suggested tips are based on the pre-discount total, that should be clearly disclosed instead of presenting it in a way that can mislead customers. As for the food, everyone has different tastes. My husband and I came here yesterday for happy hour and we were not disappointed! Both of us agreed that the elote was our favorite followed closely by the brussel sprouts. I thought the brisket was a little on the dry side, but I really enjoyed the salad on top. I also enjoyed the shrimp but wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. And maybe we ordered the wrong things but nothing blew us away especially for the price. We shared the elote dip and brisket polenta to start. I asked for a quiet table and she delivered- it happened to be a little too dark for my elderly mother so Alicia moved us outside to a wonderful table (even though they were very full and very very busy). After 20 minutes, the eggs Benedict arrives and the eggs are way over cooked...the server looked at the dish and said they "look like hard boiled eggs". So she immediately picked up the plate and said I'm sorry we have a new chef and he is a still learning. Fifteen minutes later a new plate arrives. The eggs are so undercooked that there are liquid egg whites all over the plate. I did not have time for them to try again and I doubted the chef could properly pouch an egg...so I ate as much as I could tolerate. The server said we will give you a discount on the $22 eggs Benedict. Bill arrives and she only gave me only a 10% discount....what a joke. She said we are sorry you were the "Ginny Pig", however, we are glad we got it right the second time. I told her they were actually way undercooked and I did not have time for the chef to try a 3rd time. She acted like she didn't hear me and said glad you enjoyed them. The undercooked eggs made me terribly sick. I had to cancel my plans for the evening and was unable to hold any food down for 24 hours. I ordered eggs Benedict which were yummy. Their Hollandaise may be the best I've experienced. My friend ordered chilaquiles. I didn't taste her food however she didn't like it much. It looked to be tortilla chips soaked in some liquid which made them very soggy. They were served with 2 eggs to order. We both got their seasoned potatoes which were tasty.
