The restaurant is situated on the bottom floor of the Main Street Station. It has a great view of the mountain. The wait staff was friendly and on point. We ate here for lunch two days and had a salad both days. So good. I will never be able to replicate the salad at home. I had the beet salad - without the beets. It was wild arugula, orange slices, sugared pecans, goat cheese, chicken, and a great honey vinaigrette dressing. It's also very close to the shops, grab some lunch, do some shopping! read more

Darn it, I want to love this place because it's so close to our hotel, but it's hard when you don't see the value is there. We went for happy hour, nice pour and bartender was more attentive this time. We ordered a 1/2 salad and cup soup to go and 1/2 salad and bowl of soup to go, and were charged for the same. Got home and thought we got two cups of soup instead because they were so small. That said, they gave us two bowls on accident, but still rather small. The 1/2 wedge salad was really small and sad. I did like my 1/2 southwest salad, but I would not order again, just not a good value for the size. We will give them another try since we are staying for a few more weeks, but it's hard when Bold is so good and right next door. Also note, we went in on a Saturday and realized no happy hour. Most places have HH every day, but they don't. Well drinks were $8 instead of $5.50, no biggie, but just thought I'd remind myself for next time. read more

We used to visit this place often for Apres Ski or a casual dinner when we ski in Breck. Haven't been in a few years so we were kind of excited to come back and enjoy the views and some food and drinks at the end of our first ski day. Day 1 visit was pretty decent - appetizers were decent and we enjoyed the margaritas and beers. Day 2 visit - I'll just say this - the service wasn't very good. The bartender seemed to be the only one hustling as he was serving food, making drinks, bussing tables, etc - when there were a lot of people just standing around. I kind of felt bad for him. It meant we had to wait 15 minutes to get a round of drinks - and they were not even that busy. Happy hour specials are not as special as they once were - but I understand times are tough. This place could rock Apres Ski if they put more tables back out in the sun and amped up their service. read more

This place has completely changed since we last visited. I didn't even recognize it! It has been fully remodeled and the remodel is nice, but seems like they have less tables now? It seemed so wide open before! I have to say, I didn't enjoy our experience as much this time. The food was just ok. Our server Chris was great though! My shrimp tacos had 3 tiny shrimp in them. The queso was good! They do have Kraft Mac for all those picky kids out there! I'm just not sure what happened here and feel bad, but maybe an off night? Used to go here often when in Breck. Liked it a lot. Not so much any more. They really leaned into the tequila/Mexican theme and I don't think it works as well. They did get us a table for 14 with reservations a few hours ahead, which was GREAT. The servers were nice enough but seemed a little overwhelmed. However, that seemed to be a theme across Breckenridge this trip. The quality of the food didn't seem up to previous visits. Not bad, but not the top-notch fare we'd had before. read more

Overpriced, trying-too-hard modern Mexican food. Service was friendly (for the most part) but terrible. Food took a very, very, very long time to come out. By the time we got our food, a few tables around us had already turned over. Updates on things being out of stock took way too long, with us finding out that a mixed drink wasn't available a good 15-20m after having ordered it (well before the food arrived). Their elotes dip was pretty good. But other than that, was not impressed by the food, esp considering the prices. Not my first choice for a downtown Breckenridge dining experience. read more

Waiter was incredibly rude. They were short staffed. When I told him that we were ready when he is, he replied "everyone's ready. I'm not ready. It's going to be a while." We left. We were out site seeing today and decided to stop in at Quandary Tequila Bistro in Breckenridge. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the 1/4 Wedge Salad. It was a whole lot bigger than I expected. Plenty of fresh lettuce. It had six mini tomatoes which were juicy and delicious. The blue cheese crumbles had a nice bite to them. The Ranch Dressing had a nice smooth taste to it. Top it all off with perfectly cooked and a ton of bacon on it. It doesn't get any better. Our waiter was Chris and he was all over it as far as checking on us for refills for drinks and anything else we needed. We made a reservation here a month and a half ago for a rehearsal dinner, and we were very clear about what the reservation was for and that it was for a group of 15. The person we spoke with acknowledged and confirmed everything was set and that they looked forward to seeing us. We even received a confirmation text the night before, which we replied to and confirmed. When we showed up last night, the doors were locked, the lights were off, and there wasn't a single person inside. We called while standing outside, and the phone just rang and rang with no answer. There was no cancellation call, no message, no explanation. Instead of celebrating, our group of 15 was left standing outside, stressed and scrambling to find somewhere, anywhere, to go at the last minute. Thankfully, Giampetro went above and beyond to accommodate us on zero notice and truly saved the night. If you value reliability or are planning an important event, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Taking reservations for an event like this, sending a confirmation text, and then completely disappearing is absolutely unacceptable, and frankly, unbelievable. read more

The ambiance was nice and the appetizers (eloti dip and chips/queso/guac) were delicious. Unfortunately, the entrees were lackluster in flavor and multiple dishes were incorrect. First note, don't assume this is a traditional Mexican or TexMex restaurant just because it has tequila in the name. There are tacos, there are quesadillas, but otherwise it's a normal menu that spans a variety of cuisines. Pro tip though, which is easily missed on the menu, you can turn tacos into burritos for an up-charge. My family devoured the bison short rib birria tacos, and seasoned chicken tacos modified to burrito; both were delicious. Our daughter said the queso was a standout, and I loved the green salsa that came with the chips, which I ordered more of to cover my burrito with, it was so good. Drink-wise, wow. If you want a mezcal list, this is your jam. They have numerous great options from Del Maguey, which I'm very fond of compared to the big name brands. The Girlfriend Material is a great cocktail with a unique flavor, and it's not on the web menu, but I had an incredible cocktail that involved mezcal and Green Chartreuse that tasted similar to The Last Word if you're familiar with that drink; great variation. They have a large bar, and are right in the village, so I suspect this is a great aprés venue too. read more

We brought a group of 21 people to the restaurant on a Monday evening. The dining room was nearly empty, with only one other group of nine present. To begin on a positive note: the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our party. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our server appeared unfamiliar with both the menu and the ordering system, which led to multiple issues. We were not served water and had to retrieve pitchers ourselves. Drink orders were confused, food items were mis-entered, and the timing of service was extremely disorganized. Appetizers came out after entrees, some were served after others had finished eating, and entrees arrived individually every few minutes--leaving us with the choice of eating while the food was hot or waiting for others to be served. Most concerning, the food for the kids' table was not brought out until after the adults had finished their meals entirely. Given the lack of coordination, we didn't order additional drinks and wrapped up our visit as soon as everyone had finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, the manager was sincerely apologetic and took steps to correct the experience. She adjusted our bill significantly, which we appreciated, and it showed she took our concerns seriously. We've dined here before and previously had excellent service, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. That said, because the food remains top-notch and the manager handled the situation professionally, I would consider returning in the future--but only with a much smaller group. read more

Tl;dr - the food was abysmal. The front of house were great. I would have given this a 1 star if it were not for the delightful front of house staff. They made sure that my son's burger came right away. Our drinks were always full and they were just generally very amiable and pleasant. Exactly what you would expect. The bar was moderately full, but in no way were the kitchen staff overwhelmed by the volume of orders. Now to the food. The fact that the waitress didn't ask how the food was a big tell. We ordered... - The Deep fried Cactus - this was pretty good - Birria tacos - inedible - Seasoned chicken tacos - terrible - Chicken Caesar salad - awful - Kids burger - OK I'm only going to review the Birria because it was my dish. The other food my kids didn't eat more than a few bites. We left hungry. I happen to be pretty good at making Birria. It's one of the easiest dishes to make. I was actually pretty excited when I saw there was a Birria place in the village. This just tasted like bland stewed low quality meat. It had a bad after taste. Like it had been reheated in a microwave and shoved in a taco. I decided to mix it with the side rice, but it just tasted bad. It was missing all the usual things you would see in a traditional Birria. Mostly each taco was 1/2 cup of bad meat... with a few toppings. Great food and service. I went herewith a large party to celebrate my birthday, and it did not disappoint. My only regret was not taking pictures of my food! We started with great wine; 7 Years in the Desert definitely will be added to my collection We had great appetizers, fried cactus (surprisingly good), ahi tuna, and quesadillas. The Woodford double barrel was terrific. The spicy margarita was ok not a fan of cucumber in it, but when they figured it out, it was terrific. I had the double-cut pork chop, which was well seasoned, although a bit overcooked, and disgusted by the sauce. The mashed sweet potatoes and broccoli were great. The surprise desserts were good. We come to Breckenridge every year and I've eaten at Quandary many times...not sure what has happened. My chicken sandwich was extremely small and thin the bread completely overpowered the entire sandwich. Prices have surely gone up. Margaritas were tasty but definitely water down with many ice cubes. The kids meals were filled of fries on the entire plate with two small pieces of chicken tenders. We went to dinner and had a terrible experience. Our waitress was extremely, extremely forgetful, very very relaxed and out of it. The shrimp tacos could've passed for a small appetizer size. We will not be going back. read more

Stopped here while in Breck to grab a beer and app! We sat at the bar and though the atmosphere was a little intense from over hearing some convos from the bartenders.... The beer was good! The shrimp taco was honestly one of the best shrimp tacos I've had, it was cooked perfectly and the coleslaw they add to the top was asking. The queso was just alright. They have indoor and outdoor seating, looks like you can have animals on the patio. They also have an AMAZING view of water and the mountains. came here on Saturday with a group of 7 people. Deb was our waitress and she was amazing! In addition to great service, she also gave us recommendations on where to go for drinks and suggested that we take a picture of the group in front of the bar. The restaurant ran out of beans and rice, so as a side for our tacos we were given fries, but she didn't charge us for our chips and salsa due to this. She was the only server in the restaurant but still took the time to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Also, the green salsa is the best green salsa I've ever had! read more

Tequila / Baja / Grill We had a large party of 11 and had made reservations for the dinner since we knew we would be larger than the typical amount. When we arrived they didn't have our table ready and had to wait 10 minutes while they set it up. We then waited for another 60minutes until we got our food. We understand that our party was large but we were told our food would be right out, which it wasn't. I got a salad and sweet potato fries and was satisfied with them. With that being said, this was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The hostess was absolutely miserable. She clearly did not want to be there. Hospitality is not in her dictionary. I had to wipe off a table just so our menus wouldn't stick to the table. Service was slow but we ended up getting our food. I wish we walked out before we ate. Both of us got sick when we got home. The Pros: The bison steak was *chef kiss. Tender, slightly juicy and well seasoned. I'd get it again. Enjoyed my side of sweet potato fries. They were crisp without being crunchy/burnt and just the right amount of softness. Loved the scenery from where we were seated and getting to smell fresh air. The Cons: We had a unfortunate wait of around 2 hours for our food. I understand that we had a large party and came during peak dinner time but we also were informed that our food would be "right out" when it actually would come to us 45 minutes later. My salad size was smaller than I would have thought for an entree salad. Additionally a few of the leaves were wilted/slightly brown.
