Looking for a place away from the busyness of downtown for one of our nights, we found the Stinky Boot via Yelp. It was walking distance from our rental so we decided to check it out. The saloon is located on a beautiful lodge property, we passed a life-sized chess board, hot tubs and ski rental shop on our walk through the property. Inside, the Stinky Boot has a big bar and lots of tables -- they also had several TVs playing a variety of sports games. Our group was craving different items; I wanted pizza, my husband wanted a burger and my sister in law wanted wings and my brother was hoping for some chili and we literally all got what we wanted here. Everything was delicious, too! An awesome sports bar type atmosphere in the mountains, this is the perfect place to have a drink or some food when you're looking for a low key night after the slopes.

The food is similar to a school lunch. Barely warmed up at that. Dessert was decent tho.

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.

Maybe we simply chose the wrong dishes, but nothing really impressed us, especially considering the prices. We started by sharing the elote dip and brisket polenta. The dip tasted fairly basic, almost like canned tomatoes mixed with roasted corn. I expected something warmer, creamier, and more flavorful. The brisket polenta was the best dish we tried. The meat was tender, although it reminded me more of a simple slow-cooked pot roast. The polenta was served as a firm cube rather than having the soft, creamy texture we expected. For our main course, we ordered the bison short ribs. I thought the meat would be much more tender and easily fall off the bone, but it didn't. The restaurant is also quite small, and the tables are positioned very close together. Our server was friendly and attentive, but he had to squeeze between our table and the one next to us every time he helped the other guests. Having him standing so close with his back toward us made the experience a little uncomfortable. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but after all the positive reviews and the long wait to visit, we expected something more memorable.

We have never done this at a restaurant before, but we went to Twist 2 nights in a row. It is that good! We had to go back because we wanted to taste everything on the menu that we could. We had a friend who was there the same day on the other side of the restaurant that we did not see, but he said it was the best pasta dish in Colorado! Everyone was so accommodating to our group of 4 adults and 2 children. We felt at home in the beautiful Victorian home setting. We sat outside in the front yard with a majestic view of the mountains and sat back and enjoyed great food, great wine, and stellar service (shout out to Connor who took care of us the first night). They have a Happy Hour that is fabulous, but please do not limit yourself to the Happy Hour menu. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Our group kept debating what dish was the best....so many favorites. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order: Elote Street Corn Bibb - We made salad wraps of charred corn, cotija cheese, bacon and tomatoes...) Mussels - I know every restaurant has a mussel dish on their menu, but these were sublime. Love the touch of sausage to the dish! Cheese & Charcuterie Board - excellent, excellent curation! Great local cheeses paired with artisan meats...cudos on the Duck Prosciutto! Lobster Roll - All Lobster, Butter on a toasted bun....simple and so good! Shrimp and Pancetta Tagliatelle - The pasta is charred. Yes you heard that right charred pasta. The chef explained he experienced a similar dish in Italy during his travels and came back home to replicate it in his Restaurant - Thank You Chef Delicious! As our friend said "Best Pasta Dish in Colorado!" We live in the Chicagoland area, but can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! This is a long winded review and I could go on and on, but do yourself a favor and head to the mountains and Twist in Breckenridge. The food came out quickly, tasted good, and the service was fast for most of our visit. The only things that stood out were that we were seated upstairs while we had a stroller with our toddler. Our server headed upstairs without asking if we needed a hand carrying it, or an elevator, which felt a little odd. It wasn't a huge deal, but a quick offer to help would have gone a long way. The only other hiccup was at the end of the meal. Everything moved quickly until we were ready to pay. we waited about 15 minutes for our check, which felt a little longer than expected.
