The staff here are very accommodating and polite. The impossible burger I ate was the most delicious plant-based meal I have ever eaten. My brother enjoyed his BBQ sandwich, but complained about price, as most mountain resort centers overprice their menu and products (the reason for -1 stars). Overall, my family, dog, and I had a very relaxing experience at this restaurant nestled in the mountains of Keystone!

Omg !!! Kickapoo was recommended to us and it DID not disappoint!! We popped over and wandered through the village... Amazing!! Service, even though the place is packed, was stellar, Mark took good care of us! Oh gosh... by far... the burger is the best tasting burger we have had in a long time. I enjoyed the soup if the day (homemade tomato bisque), it was delicious! My sister enjoyed the buffalo chicken tots... Kickapoo is nestled amongst the pine trees and right at the end of the village by the base.. it's December and it's so cozy to see it decorated for Christmas..

I love this place! They opened for the season today with a limited menu. Food is always hot and awesome!

Great service both times we went this trip. Good food. Just a fantastic place to relax with family.

Spicy Cajun Shrimp Pasta - overpriced at $32 and it was so-so but was a good portion!

Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat after a strenuous runs at the resort. After skiing for the first time in almost 20 years (!), I was ready for a big plate of something a bit heavy but not too heavy. When I saw this item on the menu (it's the only item that has seafood in it to my surprise because as far as I can remember correctly, this place had some trout dish. But wait, that was almost 20 years ago. Oh well!) I had to get it as it's described as a creamy pasta dish. To be frank, this dish is a bit bland. I feel that some spices are missing from it. I was glad though that it wasn't salty (as I don't like anything that's loaded with salt.) What was good about it was that it was a GOOD portion. And it's loaded with veggies (but the onions tasted a bit undercooked.) Also, a dish like this should come with a piece of garlic bread as a nice accompaniment (because after all, it's a $32 dish.) I enjoyed my Malbec (didn't take a picture of it.) The wine selection was decent enough. I also saw a good selection of tap/draft beers. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very nice and attentive to our needs and requests. The restaurant was busy at the peak time of 5:00/5:30pm but service wasn't slow. Overall it was a decent dining experience.

Kickapoo was the perfect spot to grab some lunch during a day of skiing. I went on a Monday and it wasn't busy which was nice. The service was rather quick and the food was tasty! They have plenty of drink options (cocktails, beer, and wine) and a large menu with great food options to fuel your afternoon on the slopes. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We had some pretzel bites as a yummy afternoon snack. They were super great. They were warm and flavorful and the Queso was also great. A bit pricey for what it is but expected in a ski town. The service was also good and the bathroom was pretty clean.

I honestly don't like leaving bad reviews, but this experience was terrible…read more I ordered mac and cheese with chili and pork, and what came out looked like plain microwaveable Kraft mac and cheese. There was no chili, no pork, nothing -- just basic mac and cheese that tasted like it came straight out of a box. My friend ordered a burger that was supposed to come with lettuce, blue cheese, and the works. Instead, it arrived with just chicken and bread. That was it. No toppings at all. The water we were given was also incredibly dirty -- it literally looked grey. Service somehow managed to be both overwhelming and nonexistent. While we were eating, the waiter came back to the table every couple of seconds so we couldn't even have a conversation. But when we were actually ready for the check, suddenly there was no waiter anywhere and we fwaited about 15 minutes. On top of that, every request got mixed up. I asked for blue cheese and after about 10 minutes the waiter came back with ranch. Then I asked for lemon vinaigrette (which the meal was supposed to come with) and instead got honey mustard. After explaining again, she came back with... even more honey mustard. We also paid $10 for fries with green chili and received about 15 fries. And one more thing when paying they did NOT bring my card back for about 20 minutes. It was also extremely dark where we were sitting all of the surrounding lights were off but everywhere else in the resteraunt was perfectly fine Overall the food quality, service, and attention to orders were extremely disappointing. Definitely not an experience I'd repeat don't waste your money here.

The service is always goodʻ but the restaurant is always cold and the decor is getting really dated - especially at this price point. It is just looking tired and cheap. But the big disappointment was the prime rib. On both visits, it was soft and stringy (typical of low quality prime) and basically flavorless. Plus, the food on our plates was all barely warm - like it sat in the kitchen window too long. There have been a few great new restaurants open nearby, and several others opening soon. If The Snake doesn't step up its game soon, it may not be open long.....

Snake River is definitely one of the best dinner spots in all of Keystone. Rustic and inviting,…read moreyou will feeling like you're still in the warming house on the mountains. The restaurant side is upscale dining and the saloon side is haute dive bar. Steak is the main thing on the menu, but they also have great seafood offerings. The steak has that western chick wagon flavor and is cooked true to temperature. They also have some imaginative cocktails. The prices run a little high, as one might expect in a ski town. At the Snake, service is what keeps you coming back. Attentive and enjoyable, I have yet to have an experience below excellent. For the win: Start with the Tiger Shrimp Cocktail, followed by the Kansas City Sirloin, and wash it down with their Snake Bite Paloma.

We ordered from the waitress, whom was nice, but she never came back to check on us after she served us our food. The food was horrible. I ordered the pancakes and bacon. The bacon was hard, stale, and dry as if it had been reheated several times. My pancakes were crunchy and tasted like sour milk. The mixed fruit cup was the best part of the breakfast. It's located downstairs in such a great hotel, so we really expected better or at least decent!

Date of visit: February 14, 2025…read more While staying at the resort on a snowy Valentine's Day, my friend wanted to venture out but I wasn't all that hungry or interested in battling the weather and opted for a night inside instead, but maybe he was right. We did not have a reservation and Brian the host was both accommodating and extremely frazzled. It seemed like the restaurant was a bit understaffed but I couldn't tell from all of the staff roaming around the restaurant and bar area. Our server was Michael from KCMO who was nice enough when we actually saw him, he did not make many appearances during our time at Bighorn, sadly. They had a piano player who was fine enough, but I actually preferred it when he wasn't playing as it just made it easier to talk . Had there been an option, I would have preferred something further from the piano, but given the lack of reservation I was not going to protest! Not being super hungry I went with a soup and salad. The soup sounded wonderful: Sweet Potato Bisque. It was not wonderful. It didn't really taste like sweet potatoes and once the crispy coconut topping was gone, so was the magic. However the Caesar salad was quite good; had I known this I would have just gone with a dinner version of this and called it a night!
