Rarely do I ever do 1 star reviews on here unless it's totally warranted. I ate here for lunch yesterday and this morning from 4 am on I'm throwing up and have tons of diarrhea. I'm also 8 months pregnant, so getting food poisoning at this late stage is pretty dangerous. Avoid their chicken tacos and their pathetic excuse for a "Greek salad". Beyond being overpriced and mediocre at best, I'm now dealing with this. Hours and hours later. I might have to go to the hospital before our flight to get extra fluids. This is unacceptable. I'll be definitely contacting their local health inspectors office and seeing what's really going on back there. It doesn't seem like the most clean, and if their lettuce or their tomatoes or feta have listeria, that's something that needs to be investigated. Beware! read more

Honestly, this was pretty much one of the few places opened after 4 pm in the River Run. Food: I got the green chili and half size nacho. Flavor was average but the amount of the food for the price was quite large. I got hot cocktails due to the cold weather. It was quite good too. Ambience: It was good. Can't say any bad thing about it. Everyone is having a good time skiing/boarding. Pretty friendly places. Service: generally most of staff members were friendly and providing good service. It seems to be getting busy especially before the night skiing/boarding. They clean up the table and make it available ASAP for customer. For the table service, my table was served by this girl, Savana. She brought food and drink as i requested. but her service wasn't really fair. There were two tables around me, both got a group of guys. I can tell the difference in her services. She made conversation with (guy) customers, and kept checking on other tables if they need anything else but she just drop the check without asking if I need more drinks (I was gonna get more cocktails). Be wary of this place. My server was terrible. I wish I could comment on the food, but I can't because he never put my order in. I had two glasses of wine while waiting but after 45 minutes and tables that came in after me getting their food I realized that my Greek salad was never coming. I flagged the guy down and said I was fine with only the wine. He clearly didn't remember that I'd ordered anything else. Came here to eat after hitting the slopes around 1pm and it wasn't crowded at all; however thank god bc it got super crowded as soon as we got seated which was about 15minuted later so we came at the perfect time! They gave us the option of sitting inside or outside- we chose inside to keep warm. The waitress was very attentive to us. We ended up ordering the River run burger (which was one of their fan favorites) and a side of parmesan fries and the soup of the day (which was the chicken tortilla). The food came out at a moderate time, was kind of a wait but it was ok. The chicken tortilla was not my favorite at all.. it was kind of watery and not a lot of flavor to it. The river run burger on the other hand was pretty good in my opinion! it was very tasteful and cooked well. The guacamole, though, didn't seem as fresh but it was fine. Upon arrival to Keystone the BF and I found ourselves hungry. So we made our way to Kickapoo Tavern to meet our friends for some cold brews and apps! LOCATION: Right by the base of the mountain in River Run Village. It's perfectly located to stop in for a mid-day break from the slopes, enjoy a refreshment or two, and head back up to finish your day. ATMOSPHERE: When it's busy - it's loud! That being said there's tvs scattered about to check-up on the game. The whole place has a mountain lodge type feel with rustic log and river rock throughout. LIBATIONS: Our group of four sipped on a variety of drinks. I chose Left Hand's Nitro Milk Stout. The perfect way to warm up in the winter. My friend had Granny's Hot Cocoa (it was of the spiked variety - of course). The boys had a couple other local brews. SUSTENANCE: There's a wide variety of meal options to be had at Kickapoo Tavern. My friends and I noshed on the full order of nachos with pulled pork, sour cream, and guacamole added. Super tasty! Plenty of toppings for the tortilla chips. We also shared the pretzel bites and queso. It was def enough for the four of us. SERVICE: The place was PACKED when we arrived. After checking in with the host we discovered there was a thirty minute wait. We left them our cell number and made our way back outside to wait. When we were seated our server was as attentive as she could be given how busy it was. This restaurant was very underwhelming honestly. The best thing we got were the buffalo chicken ranch nachos but even the chicken was kind of weird in it. My friend and I split the burger and we both agreed it was very mid. The bun was dry and just kind of crusty overall. My drink was good, but everything was so expensive and that it really factored negatively into my overall experience. The location and interior ambiance is nice; it's a beautiful log cabin-esque structure that gives you the log cabin mountain vibes. The location of Kickapoo Tavern is nice, because you can walk right to it from the slopes. If there's an issue, it's just that it's the first restaurant you see, so plan on getting there for an earlier lunch unless you want to wait in a line. The service was solid, no complaints there. A bar that serves food and mediocre food at that. The Gyros our servers "favorite" were simply not good. Overdone gyro meat from Restaurant Depot on a stale pita with some store bought sauce .... I would be embarrassed to serve such a disgrace to the kitchen. The burger was ok per my offspring. Frankly this place leaves lots to be desired. From slow service to crappy food ..... We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table which was fine (and the hostess quoted us 30 minutes). Great service. Our server Bethany was attentive and nice. Food was good. Pretzel bites are a must. We also had the River Run Burger and the Harvest Cobb Salad. The burger wasn't cooked medium rare as ordered but it was ok. 'Underwhelming' according to the hubs. Fun fact for the day. Kickapoo is both a tribe and a place. It generally means "Stands here and there." Learning new things can work up an appetite so we should probably talk about the food. I got the Chicken & Brie sandwich, which has chicken breast, melted brie, apples, fig jam, mixed greens, and a brioche bun. Not a game changer but it did taste good and wasn't too heavy to get right back out there on the mountain. The one challenge we had here was getting a table. There's probably no great timing because people will be coming down for lunch throughout the day. It was hard to stand in a place that wasn't in the way. We did our best and only got a couple comments from the servers. All in all, not a bad place and not my favorite at the Keystone resort. read more

A great place for apres ski. We came here for a break during skiing and also afterwards for dinner and drinks. A warm, lively and BUSY sports restaurant right at the front of the Village. Very packed at all times but bar seating is first come first serve so look for that! We ended up sitting down at a table for dinner and the wait wasn't that bad. They said 45 minutes but it ended up being more like 25 minutes. Food was good, filling and delicious, I got the southwestern power bowl which I recommend. Prices are higher which is to be expected from a place at the ski lodge, my bowl cost me $20 but at least it tasted good! Would definitely come back. read more

We initially wanted to do take out, but that wasnt available until after 8pm. Thought we would discover another option. But that night we were too tired to take public transportation and for some reason didnt notice Montezuma restaurant. Anyway, we got there around 8pm. To pick up take out Picked up our steaming bag of .... foood. And brought it back to the condo. ~5 mins max. The french dip was OK /edible. And would probably been better if we ate there. The fries had gone full soggy mode and tasted like leather. We also got shephards pie. And that looked like a semi digested after a night out clubbing, bad decision making taco bell accident while passed out kinda deal. Tastewise, was too salty and the protein/meat was scant. It was essentially mashed potatoes with one or two green peas. Although this was take out. My experience was negative. read more

With the resort prizes, I was able to enjoy a very filling dinner for about $15-20. Came here another time for happy hour and was able to enjoy a pitcher of blue moon for only $21 and get some yummy apps! They seem to not split meals here so make sure you're aware of that before getting just one bill. read more

My 11 y/o son injured his leg and we went into the tavern to get a table and rest his leg. I asked if he could sit down while I purchased some drinks and waited for the rest of our party. We were told, "you're not allowed inside unless your entire party was here." I asked if we could sit for 10mins until the rest of my party arrived. They kicked us out and told me, "he can sit on the ledge outside until your party gets here". It was 8 degrees outside and none of the employees could care less. We loved the food and the atmosphere at Kickapoo. It's right in the heart of Keystone and can definitely get busy during lunch and apres ski, hence the 90-minute table limit. Food and drinks were delicious both times we were there but it's not cheap (which is the only downside)...but none of the restaurants in River Run are. read more
