View at raw bar. Somewhat open kitchen layout and chef was near us placing final touches on dishes to be sent out.
Carlin T.

Very chill, yet elegant interior. Service was spot on! We didn't have a reservation but were able to sit at the raw bar and had plenty of space. It was a special spot for me on vacation because I share the same first name, Carlin, and I don't see that much! Food was remarkable as well, I have seated tuna with glass noodle and short rib risotto was also ordered. Can't forget to mention the crab claws- wowee! Tasty!

My wife and I had a last-minute meal here recently. They were very accommodating to us just popping in. The service was excellent, the server was very attentive. The appetizers were delicious as well as generous in size. Our main courses were both very well prepared as well. Their cocktail and dessert menu was also impressive. I would definitely come back again.

Cozy modern mountain vibes with a friendly knowledgeable staff. Both the drink and food menu have fresh seasonal selections. The biscuits are soft and pillowy served with a savory umami butter. Crab cakes are light with a mustard panzanella. Game chilli is hearty & totally hit the spot on a snowy night. The shrimp scampi is creamy with fresh pasta. We also got the scallops special with polenta & zucchini then finished with the banana bread. Everything was delightful. The Carlin is one of our absolute favorites in Breck.

Great service and wonderful food. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations

This place is Outstanding. We came last year, and had such a good time, we stopped in this year. GM of the year, I swear! Connor our server was top tier. Food deserves its own post. Everything is fresh, and delicious! Restaurant itself is beautiful, and definitely feels like a place you want to see and be seen. Can't wait for next summer!!

Service is perfect. Yet they're in jeans. Love it! The oysters on the half shell came with a lemon vinaigrette, the usual red sauce, and their homemade hot sauces. The Brussels were perfectly cooked and included cherries and a delicious balsamic. The short rib and sirloin mains were perfect. And the moose calves that walked by while we were here were perfect! We had a specialty beverage (Curious George (modified old fashioned)) and the Sangiovese were also perfect. We will come again.

Came here for dinner and highly recommend the restaurant - the seafood was super fresh and everything was so tasty. Highly recommend the crab claws; those were our favorite. Definitely a must try spot for seafood!

We had a great return visit to The Carlin last night. Almost a year into operation, the menu continues to evolve a bit which is to be expected. They've moved away from more of a small plate focused menu to a balance with some clear larger entrees for those who want your typical starter/main course experience. We tried the pickled mussels to start which had a nice balance of brine and spice. The crab cakes are excellent with some red pepper sauce. They are not too bready and the sauce is not too spicy. My wife tried the dynamite shrimp which was just spicy enough for her. Obviously everyone's tolerance is different. I then tried the Salmon which was quite tasty and huge. This is a rich dish with the gnocchi, guanciale and sauce along with the salmon so go light up front if you want to finish this at the table. Sam and Grayson did a very nice job and we look forward to returning, hopefully at lunch when they add that service in the next few weeks.

Steak Prime Beef Tartare *

We loved this place so much. Incredible service, warm and cozy but lively atmosphere, and the food was amazing. We ordered the Alaskan lobster dip and the beef tartare as appetizers and both were so delicious, we got the clam chowder which was very good but it had too much of a celery flavor, and then we both ordered the hanger steak which was SO good. The drinks were also very tasty. This has easily become one of our favorite spots in Breck!

Ashly H.

Came here for the oysters. Loved them! You fill out a little sheet selecting what oysters you want. They have all the good fixings! Staff was super awesome and the atmosphere is really cool too. Felt like I was at an Oceanside restaurant! Their Prosecco was really good - Cara Mia. Love that stuff.

Cocktail menu

We were looking for a place for cocktails and so glad we stumbled upon the adorable Carlin. LOVED the ambience - tastefully modern - loved the wooden touches on the booths, the lighting and all of the perfect blue and brushed gold finishes. The ski photos are amazing. 24 Karat was my absolute favorite cocktail. Such a unique combination. The kale salad was good, the wood fired oysters were a tad disappointing as they were flavorless unless you added hot sauce. The slider was the winner - would have been happy to eat the kale salad and a few sliders. Bummed we just missed happy hour. On to the entrees...unfortunately we were disappointed by both the fish & chips (the grouper was an odd choice) and the pork chop (it was way overcooked). Management was kind enough to remove the pork chop, which was unnecessary. Unsure if the restaurant is new, but if so - once they remedy these kinks it will be amazing. Service was 5-stars. I would definitely come back for drinks and apps, though.

I arrived at Carlin's at 3:45 and was the first in line to get in. We got seated for their 4-5PM Happy Hour with no issues with a party of six and they accommodated for us adding two more people (though told us when they needed the table by) which alone gives them a 5/5. Suggest you get a reservation! I ordered: 1 Au Jus Slider ($4) (5/5) Best thing on the menu for value. I appreciate that they put pickles on the side. Order two and a cocktail for a truly great happy hour. Clam Chowder ($10): (3/5) Served Manhattan style so it's watery, not as thick as New England style. I thought it was a bit light on ingredients, not the best value. 2 Select Oysters ($2.50 ea) (4.5/5): Served with lemon, very tasty. I liked these more than the wood fired ones. 3 Wood Fired Oysters ($3.50 ea) (4/5): Very well cooked and very flavorful. My only critique is that the oysters used (from British Colombia?) were quite small. Brussel Sprouts (shared) (4.5/5): Good portions, little heat from the szechuan vinegarette but not too hot. Tasted from friends: Buttermilk Gruyere Biscuits (shared) (4.5/5): Four huge biscuits with a pretty good butter. The biscuits are extremely rich, buttery and cheesy. Great value for $7 for four. Hushpuppies (shared) (3.5/5): Tasty, just not my style. Grouper Fish and Chips (shared) (4.5/5): Solid portions for both fries and a huge piece of fish. Amazing value and also pretty sharable. Tasted my friend's Manhattan and found it excellent. It's stronger than others we had on Main Street. Oysters were served with a habanero pear sauce and an Ancho sauce. We all agreed the Ancho sauce is more flavorful. I enjoyed the variety here and would say it stands up to some of the best happy hours in Breckenridge, way better than Aurum according to my friends. We rated it equivalent to Hearthstone but with more interesting variety. I'd come back for the fish and chips, brussel sprouts, and sliders over any other happy hour on Main. If I had one criticism I'd say the speed of food service is a bit strange. Four of our sliders came out quickly but I was waiting for mine for over 35 minutes. Maybe they forgot my order.

My husband and consider ourselves food snobs. We can tell when there is an exceptional chef cooking. Don't know his name but this 33 year old chef is "hitting it out of the park." We serving the underground tavern and Cat waiting on us. Wonderful experience from start to finish. We loved it so much we will eat upstairs on 5 days. Fish and Chips great too with ranch flavoring on the fries. But - the key lime pie and picked mussels were hands down the most interesting and flavorful. This is a "must experience" restaurant. I would give this place a "10" if the ratings went that high. Enjoy!!!

I'm not sure where to begin, so I will just lay out my experience: I drove from Fort Worth to Breckenridge, got to the hotel, valet got me squared away (as I had 2 karts of luggage to bring to the room). I had my dog, and he has an expensive diet with fresh ground frozen meats. Trying to get settled in, I wanted to crash out ASAP, but I had to unload a plethora of booze and a few other things from the fridge - which I immediately realized did not have any sort of freezer. No problem, I just opened my windows and stuck the meat out on the sill - no problem keeping it frozen. Wanting to wind down (super strung out from that drive), I checked out what was on TV. Thank you EVERYONE who left their subscriptions logged in! I got into some shows that I would have never seen otherwise! Then I thought I'd pop some popcorn - no microwave (wtf). I seriously thought about walking out to the lobby in my undies to get my corn popped, but the building was freezing cold. I highly recommend carrying a hot plate and small pot, because I always do, and hardly ever need it - except for this time. I never popped my corn, but made plenty of soup. Then came time to actually crash out. I like to bathe before I bed in, so that's what I did. I ran the water in the tub on full hot until full. The room was so cold, the tub cooled the water significantly, but that really didn't bug me too bad. It's when I was layed down in the tub when I realized I had to stand up each time I needed soap and shampoo lol... Hey, no prob, I did that, relaxed, everything was great, even the sliding barn door :D I crawled into bed, and it was GREAT. Maybe my own bed sucks, but I was in heaven...... until it all started. I could hear EVERYTHING! Doors slamming, people talking, dogs barking (to which mine responded - uggh), and TRASH TRUCKS OMG! These things really were all I have to complain about. Every member of staff: cleaning ladies, valet guys, TALENTED bartenders, etc... we're great! I am giving 4 stars, because I'm really not into the ski resort thing enough to know what is the norm, but I have to bring these things to your attention. I would probably stay there again. I've read the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews, and I sympathize. My vacation was great, but the room was the cilantro (great to some, awful to others).

Valdoro Mountain Lodge is a mixed experience for me overall, I'd rate it 2.5-3 stars…read more We stayed here during New Year's week. The location is definitely a plus it's close to town, walkable to shops and restaurants, and near the slopes, which makes it convenient if you're planning a ski trip. The property is also part of the Hilton Grand Vacations portfolio, and they offer self-parking, which I believe is complimentary. That said, the property itself feels pretty outdated. While I believe some of the rooms have been renovated, the overall facilities, lobby, gym, spa, and general décor could really use a refresh. The front desk area in particular felt a bit drab and not very welcoming. Check-in was just okay. We are Hilton owners (though not at this specific property), and while I understand priority may go to owners here, it was a little disappointing that we couldn't get a better room especially since the property didn't seem very full at the time. Our two-bedroom unit itself was decent. The showers had great water pressure, which I appreciated, but the bedding could use improvement the pillows were too soft for my liking. The bathroom overall was fine, although I personally didn't feel comfortable using the bathtub as it didn't seem as clean as I would've liked. I did like the fireplace in the room which came in handy and the balcony was nice. One downside is that housekeeping isn't automatically included you need to meet a certain stay threshold, which wasn't ideal. The amenities were underwhelming. The gym was very small and not well-equipped. The spa didn't really feel like a spa, and when I tried to use the steam room, it wasn't even on. There are multiple jacuzzis, but one wasn't working during our visit, so I had to move to another and share, which wasn't ideal. They do offer complimentary coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby, but it's only available for a short window and is more of a self-serve packet setup, which we did not like and didn't use. The biggest issue for me was the lack of follow-up from staff. After checkout, I realized I had left behind a small bag of items in the room. I called multiple times and was told each time that someone would follow up with housekeeping and call me back but I never received a call. When I finally reached someone again, I was told the items couldn't be found. The lack of communication and follow-through left a bad impression. Overall, while the location is great and the rooms are decent, the outdated facilities, inconsistent service, and lack of follow-up make it hard for me to return.

I enjoyed having both a tub and a shower in our bathroom. The people working here were amazing. Friendly and would quickly attend to any needs that we have. For example anytime we called the shuttle they would be there pretty soon afterward! Seriously the employees here really is what made this place earn its 5 star rating! Great location close to the slopes and close to Main Street for shopping and dining!

I found fireside online and it was by far the most affordable option in Breckenridge for a single night so I went for it in a two person dorm, and luckily I happened to be the only one in that room that night! The room was definitely snug but it was cozy and very comfortable and I slept very well. Finding the place was also very easy, they provide very clear instructions and there is plenty of parking at the church across the street (just mind their specific parking instructions and you won't have any trouble). Re: the interior: it's actually a very large place with two full baths and one half bath. I never even saw/heard another guest when I came but again it was late. The vibe was that it was a very comfy, chill place - they have soothing music playing over by the office door where the coffee/tea machines are, and there is a small kitchen and living room area. They had a real fire going in the living room area and there were games and books and lots of "things to do" brochures around, so truly it felt like being in a cozy cabin. I genuinely really loved that vibe. Not to mention it's quite close to the main road - you could easily walk but because it was raining heavily the night I came, I did drive all of 3 minutes to avoid walking 15 in the rain to the bar on Main Street I wanted to go to. They also sent me a text when i came in case i had questions, so they are available to help you. Overall - if you're coming and staying here for just a night or two and all you need is a bed/shower/safe space, this place is GREAT. What's not to love? Not sure I even want to share this place…read morewith anyone else who might not appreciate it, but I hv benefitted from it and I hope this helps others find it as well. My friend brought me here, saying, if I'm going to try any hostel, anywhere in the world, it should be here or his other favorite - in Wales. It is a gorgeous autumn in Colorado, so Breckinridge it is. How incredibly fortunate for me that my first hostel was here. I'm constantly reminded that not every hostel is so nice. What a lovely place. Well appointed, so clean - which is all important in this pandemic time. Everyone is friendly. We stayed in a 6-bunk room with a total 4 ppl in it. The less agile (that'd be me) was lucky to get a lower bunk (not sure how that works, we lucked out that not all the berths were full!) The other two ppl were solo travelers, one from South America, the other from Russia. They were friendly and polite. We all did our own thing; I crashed out early, so I wasn't bothered at all that another guest had to pack luggage for an early flight out the next day. There are outlets at each bunk, even USB chargers And a lamp which was a necessity when hvg to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I thought the room was comfortable; temps got down into the 30's overnight but I was comfortably cozy in my bed with its duvet; there were extra blankets in the closet if needed. My friend thought it too warm but he runs that way, but he slept thru the night fine too. A word about the bedding: mine was fine, clean, smelled clean. But one of the other bunks had yellowed bedding - with stains. I presume it was washed and cleaned just looked used, and if you got there in daylight or with all the lights on, one would hv seen it, but I didn't till the next morning when we were getting ready to leave and that might've bn off putting. I came down early, just before sunrise The general areas were at a comfortable temp. Wasn't time yet for breakfast, but some kind soul had already started the coffee. I went for a walk, took some pix, came back once guests had started to straggle in. What a friendly, informative bunch! My friend tells me that's most hostel-goers. And the food was pretty good, pancakes, eggs, cereal; I got the oatmeal and an English muffin. The coffee smelled really good. And I was so happy they had powdered hot chocolate too! Special mention must be made of Belage (sorry, may hv misspelled) but he is a welcoming, knowledgeable host and made us feel at home. If you come here, please contribute positively. I worry that the wrong sort would detract from such a lovely accommodation and experience. And yeah, I'll hv to keep in mind that almost certainly other hostels aren't like this, but it is now my gold standard.

We stayed several nights here in February, and I had some mixed feelings about this hotel…read more Good things first. This is a nice Hilton hotel...and our room looked stellar (can't believe I didn't take pictures of the room!). It was very modern, and possibly twice the size of a typical Courtyard Marriott room...very spacious! Also, the view from our room was awesome. We had direct view of the mountain and the ski lifts...and my husband simply had to walk across the street to ski each day (I don't ski). That said, there were MANY things that were just off. For starters, the room temperature was rather hot...so much so that I had a hard time sleeping! Their thermostat wouldn't go lower than 68, for one. You'd think that in a snowy winter, the rooms would be cool...but not really. It was warm...especially at nights. Also, the showerhead was very weak, and there was no coffee machine...but instead, an espresso machine. Otherwise, the room and bath amenities were really good. Maid service was terrible! On the day we took off the "Do Not Disturb " sign (meaning, YES we want service!), it was so difficult to get service at the right time. The room attendants knocked on the door 2 times in the morning...even AFTER I told them to come clean the room after 11:30 am! Then, when we returned to the room at around 4 pm, the room wasn't even cleaned. I had to request room service then AGAIN...and had to wait out in their lobby area. When I returned to the room, there were scattered mess (pieces of paper??) on the floor that they didn't pick up! Their complimentary shuttle service was totally unreliable! When I was out and about in Breckenridge, I gave up on waiting on their shuttle. Just did NOT arrive every 20 minutes as indicated! I basically gave up on their shuttle service after Day 1. On Wednesday night (2/11th), we had a dinner reservation at 5:45 pm...so we came down to wait for the shuttle 30 minutes prior. The driver didn't show up until 6 pm!! Then the driver went inside the hotel (bathroom break?!?) for another 10 minutes! We nearly missed our dinner...luckily, we called and they agreed to wait for us. Also, hate to say it, but this bus driver had a horrible BO. Topping all this off, he dropped us off at the wrong stop...seemingly purposefully. OMFG!!! Even their valet service was unreliable. On the day we were headed to Vail, one of the valet attendant forgot to put my husband's ski gear in our rented car...so we had to drive back to get it. It costed us at least 1 hour of our day in Vail. We were furious!!! Then the added fees-charges. They charge you $50 per day for valet parking (no regular parking)! We found this very offputting. Then, on top of this, they charged you $60 resort fee per day!! As nice as this hotel was, there were just way too many things wrong! I'm still thinking about calling the Manager to get a partial refund (at the very least) for our overpriced valet/resort fees...given how unhospital their services were! In short, I do NOT recommend this place! Surely, there are better hotels/resorts with more reliable services in Breckenridge.

Celebrated a birthday weekend/ engagement at Hotel Alpenrock. Highly recommend spending your…read morespecial occasion with them! Javier and Eric at the front were phenomenal hosts. They took amazing care of us. Aidan at Edwin's was a great server and had us laughing the whole time. Even though it was close to closing time he never rushed us and shared his favorite dishes with us. Everyone at the hotel was personable and communicative, overall awesome hospitality.
