We were thrilled to find this newer speakeasy in Breckenridge. We were greeted in the hospitality area of the hotel lobby with a welcome sip, escorted through the heart-of-house corridors, and passed through a secret door into the well-curated, classic speakeasy. Service was top notch, where each bartender listened to our drink preferences and took bold, yet calculated risk while concocting a unique cocktail just for us. It was an intimate and very enjoyable experience.

Interesting and unique speakeasy in Breckenridge. So secret that even the hotel staff did not know what we were talking about when we asked them where to check in for Canary. We checked in at the front desk of the hotel lobby, then asked to wait for someone to escort us. That took almost 30 minutes for someone to show up (well past our reservation time). Then we got escorted through the kitchen to the "secret location" behind a somewhat hidden door. Kind of a cool entrance. The drink ordering part was a little confusing, as they ask you what you like then try to tailor a drink that fits your tastes and your mood. The drinks were great - well prepared, tasty, and unique. We sat at a table because there were 4 of us and the bar only had 2 seats open. There was really only the bartender as service staff, taking our order, making our drinks and delivering back to our table. Service was slow for that reason. I would recommend sitting at the bar for more interaction with the bartender and better service. But a cool experience and we had a great time.

I have been to Canary twice, once last winter and once this August and it was pure magic both times. I really loved the DJ they had this summer, it was truly the vibe! The drinks are spectacular and it is such a great place to enjoy the night. You feel like you went back in time and you definitely lose track of it! Canary is a true speakeasy, good luck finding it!! Cannot wait for Canary Apres this winter season.

Some mixed feelings with this dining experience…read more.. This restaurant menu appeared to be quite posh, but the place itself turned out to be quite casual looking and small. From the start, It was a let-down for my husband in that of the only 3 tap beer options they had on the menu, they were out of 1 beer that my husband wanted. In any case, he ordered another beer, and I chose "Indian Summer" cocktail...which was good. I wasn't too hungry, so had Scallion Crab Cakes for my meal, and my husband tried the Shrimp Po Boy. Well, my crab cakes were quite good...but I was more impressed with my husband's Po Boy. Possibly THE best version of Po Boy I've ever seen and tasted! We also shared a Key Lime Pie...which was just OK. Still, the presentation for all 3 items were really nice. Service was OK at best. While fine in the beginning, the waitress somewhat disappeared halfway through? I even accidentally tagged down the Manager-Owner (thinking it was our waitress!). She did touch base near the very end. Overall, I thought the foods were quite good...but the overall dining experience was just OK. Somehow, I didn't like the ambiance or the service at all.

It is on the pricier end but the quality is worth it in my opinion. We started with the stone crab claws which were tasty. I wish the butter was warmed. Next up was the ceviche which was also good and not too fishy tasting. The chips were thick and had a decent amount of salt on it (which I like). There were some plantain chips which was a nice touch. We also got some warm olives. The baked oysters were briny and cheesy. The salmon was the main entree we shared and the fish was incredibly fresh. The quinoa and cherry tomatoes along with the fresh micro greens went well together. There was also a sauce garnish that reminded me of a chimichurri. Overall we had a great dining experience here and would return during our next trip to Breckenridge.

It was pretty quiet (still off-season), and my husband and I were the only ones there when we walked in around 10. We sat at the bar and had a lovely conversation with Jeremy; I ordered the Gingerbread Man (take on an old fashioned with brown butter washed bourbon, and my husband got the "50 Shades of Green" - definitely one of the most unique cocktails we've ever tried! The description "arugula infused gin, yogurt washed aquavit with Pandan herbs & lime" - it had everything - some sour, some umami, some sweet from the Pandan - what a fun and unique cocktail. Shortly after we walked in, a huge group of 10-12 women walked in followed by some other groups shortly after them. It was a really fun atmosphere and both cocktails were 10/10.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

Wow. Just wow…read more Nora's Speakeasy might be one of my favorite cocktail spots ever. The vibe is dark, elegant, and cool without trying too hard -- it really feels like a secret hideout (but in the best way). Drinks? Insanely good. Their "Nora's Version" menu reimagines classic cocktails with modern twists, and every single one we tried was a hit. Balanced, bold, and beautifully crafted. Food is simple but hits the spot -- charcuterie, grilled cheese, and pretzel bites that pair perfectly with the cocktails. Bonus: You get a welcome sip when you arrive! Such a fun touch that set the tone for a great night. Run, don't walk. Louisville, you've got something really special here.

I saw it had good ratings online; unfortunately I came on a day my stomach was already bothering me but I wanted to have a look. It's a very low light, date night vibe inside. The barista was super friendly, and I saw online they'd had a very sweet cocktail from a few years back - I asked her about it and she didn't have all the ingredients but offered to make me something similar. I declined because I felt like i shouldn't be drinking with my stomach feeling off, but it's exactly the type of place I like to check out, the menu was cool. I will definitely try to make it back one of these days when passing back through the area! Also had lots of free street parking all along the main road ~
