We ultimately were gathered in the hotel lobby to take us back to the speakeasy - the welcome drink was a super nice touch! The speakeasy itself is fairly tiny - seats about 30? It felt super swanky and loved all the wood - felt like we were somewhere back in the 30s. The cocktail connoisseur behind the bar, Danny, makes you a custom made drink based your preferences. They can of course make standard drinks but what fun is that? In their menu, they have a list of the most popular liquors (gin, vodka, whiskey, rum, etc.) and then flavors that typically pair with those liquors. For example, I wanted some sort of whiskey sour and asked to make it with peach or ginger flavors. My husband asked for a gin drink with crème de violet and got a delicious play on an Aviation cocktail with aloe and rosemary simple syrup. I just wish we'd had a little more time but had to leave due to dinner plans. But the atmosphere, the speakeasy setup, and the service were absolutely outstanding. Easily the best and most unique cocktail experience we've ever had. We were a little worried that there were no prices on the menu, but our bill was actually very reasonable especially considering the overall experience. Also tried delectable Mac-n-Cheese, Green Chili, Red Chili. High Side is dedicated to community involvement and occupies a great location in Frisco. Wrong for a bourbon drink. She said they were out of blocks (8:00???) It was full of simple syrup- yuck! I discreetly took it over to the bar and asked what was in it, it was terribly sweet and not what we ordered. She said she puts simple syrup in them. I told her that is not what we ordered in the BUILD YOUR OWN. And asked her to remake it. She stormed to the table and said she would have to charge me for the new drink since that is how they make them. I asked her isn't it a build your own? And said forget it just throw the damn thing away. I'm done. I had nothing and we left. Be careful to explain it is build your own and you get to tell them how to make it.

Our server, Grayson was clearly super familiar with everything on the menu and at the resort, he was very friendly and made some great recommendations. We started with some beer, and then we were told about "Wingo" Thursdays, which is exactly what it sounds like, wing specials and bingo. We didn't anticipate staying for bingo, but after trying the wings and they were so incredible, we decided to have some desserts as well and play along since we were hanging around for a bit. We got the traditional and the garlic Parmesan wings, $15 for 12 wings is a really good price and they were absolutely incredible. We also tried the tres leches bread pudding, this was quite possibly the best bread pudding I've ever had, Grayson told us they do a different one every year, I'm very happy. We came this week and not last week as it would not have been the same then! The skillet cookie was also delicious, we tried the peanut butter, which was a unique combination as usually these are served with chocolate chip cookies.
