Staying in Center Village we wanted an after dinner cocktail and the Build Your Own Old Fashion was perfect! The bartender was friendly and fun to talk with. Great crowd and we had a lively time. 2 nights later we went back for the same BYO Old Fashion and I gave the bartender (different from prior visit) the ingredients; Rye, angistino bitters, orange bitters and thats all! Over a single large block of ice. They were out of Ang bitters (???) so i substituted walnut bitters. It happens, no biggy. They arrived at the table and were over small chipped ice. Wrong for a bourbon drink. She said they were out of blocks (8:00???) It was full of simple syrup- yuck! I discreetly took it over to the bar and asked what was in it, it was terribly sweet and not what we ordered. She said she puts simple syrup in them. I told her that is not what we ordered in the BUILD YOUR OWN. And asked her to remake it. She stormed to the table and said she would have to charge me for the new drink since that is how they make them. I asked her isn't it a build your own? And said forget it just throw the damn thing away. I'm done. I had nothing and we left. Be careful to explain it is build your own and you get to tell them how to make it. read more

Worst service I've experienced in my many visits to Copper and I won't be back. I came in March 30 around 2:30 p.m. and the bartender rejected my first order because it didn't live up to what he thought someone should want from a whiskey bar. Then, he rejected the second order because, as he put it, "I don't really like making those, either." He was so rude, even other patrons at the bar seemed taken aback by his attitude. I wasn't in the mood to argue, so instead of the drink I ordered, I ended up with a $30 shot of something I didn't want, and that didn't taste good in the first place. The Copper Mountain Resort Bar and Restaurant scene has been a challenge in the last two years (2020-21) with reduced tourism. This place has survived and seems to have a formula for success. That is, be personable, adaptable, and offer things you may not be able to get elsewhere. Personable: I sat at the bar and the two ladies took care of me, my questions, and just were talkative but not in a bothersome way. It was a slow weeknight so conversation among the patrons that were there was free and easy. Probably had me stay for another. Adaptable: They can handle big parties in a downstairs area, I believe do karaoke certain nights, have beer, wine, and mixed drinks. TVs for the game of interest for your crew. Or corner tables for something more quiet. Can meet your need. Things not available elsewhere: I started looking for a whiskey flight but the price and not finding a mix led me to just go a la carte for some whiskey (and I mixed in a beer). They can answer questions or do your own research online for local ones of which you are not familiar. I didn't try the food, the descriptions sounded good, not sure this is a place (given other nearby) to settle in for dinner, but there was food. The prices weren't what I would call friendly BUT again, given you're on the mountain and current prices are rising, was reasonable. I'll drop by here in the future for a whiskey or beer or the company. read more

This is the worst bar I've ever been to. DJ is absolutely horrendous. Place is empty and clearly only for regulars.

Positives first- this places has a seriously extensive whiskey list. So if that's your jam, this place would give you options. One of the two sandwiches we had was pretty good too, though the panini bread was too thin and not toasted enough Experience though. I'll stick with my other favorites. We had to pay for our drinks separately, and there was a significant wait time before the other waitress appeared to take our order. She said she would take it, but had to check if there was a cook downstairs. Um....ok? We ordered two sandwiches that came with kettle chips- when the sandwiches were ready, we were told they didn't have the chips, but they replaced them with tortilla chips. There was no discount either for the unwelcome substitution. Overall, I cannot recommend this place, especially given all of the other options around. Hopefully they can turn it around. read more

Pretty good spot. The drinks are the high point here, but it doesn't feel like a wine and whiskey bar at all. The vibe feels like a dive bar, no real design or esthetic to the place. Other places in the village feel way more put together than this place. The food was pretty good. The flatbread with roasted garlic was very tasty and cheese plate was large and had lots of variety. The drink list was good too. Bartenders didn't seem too enthused to be there. Would be nice to have bit more welcoming energy coming from behind the bar. Work on your ambiance so it feels like a real retreat after a long day on the mountain instead of a college hangout. read more

Walked in and bartender told us to order at the bar, no problem! My husband was going up to order for himself and a couple of us. The lady at the bar yelled that she needed to see all of our faces for our IDs he was bringing up, that's fine too. When I came up with my ID I apologized and she snarkily said "it's the law" like I was an idiot. Then She took my ID and I ordered. She slid it back to me and I walked away then my husband was starting to order and she told him I could leave if I had an attitude. I apologized and she yelled louder she didn't need our business. And that she didn't need that in her life. Perhaps she was drunk or was having a bad day but I was sober and in a good mood so it was an unfortunate event. Hopefully her life gets better and this bar does too. Can't speak to the drinks tho. Maybe they are good if they decide to serve you. read more

First stop after making our way to Copper Mtn and we were kicked out before we could order our first drink. Bartender with heart sunglasses has an attitude immediately when asking for our ID's ... take a chill .... we are obviously going to show our ID's. Do you wait to bust someone for a fake? Anyways, my wife first apologizes to the bartender then shows her ID. After she orders her drink and walks a way, the bartender angrily points and says, "she can leave if she's going to have an attitude". To which I respond "uh, what?". The bartender then claims that my wife threw her ID at her - completely false, I saw my wife HAND her ID and then the bartender SLAPPED her ID on the bar when returning. Then the bartender says, "I don't need your business you can all leave." LOL what?? So, we left. I hope this person can resolve whatever anger she has and learn to treat future patrons better.
