So many options, even if you don't like whiskey! A bit pricey for a cocktail or pour of spirit but the service was great and tasting room is open and inviting. They have specials on the wall that are seasonal and change up often. I believe you can taste the spirit before ordering a full drink but I jumped right in with their Easy Way Down moonshine cocktail. It was a bit rough, as a lot of moonshine drinks are. i wish it was a little smoother, but it is what it is. They have a large area for merch including infused maple syrup and clothing. Love the folks and the spirits up at 10th Mountain! Everyone from the greeters to bartenders were a pleasure to interact with. I've been a couple of times, and they always have a big table set up out front. If you stop by, they'll offer free sample pours of any kind! I thought this was a huge win. I'm the gentleman out front, Clark, is one of the main people of the village! He seems to know everyone there! Ask him anything about the spirits or village and he will help! The shop itself is well decorated and cozy inside. There's a few nice wood tables, and a big tv out back for sports. They have quite a few fun things to buy, I got a flask and my girlfriend a hat. The whisky barrels and glassware looked very nice. I also opted for a previously sampled bottle of Rye, with its smoky and spicy finish. I enjoyed it over the bourbon, not something I often do! I found their Cordial to be delicious as well. I will be back very soon for a bottle of that! On the social media side, Morgan is very responsive and kind, and clearly trying to grow the brand. I went in on recommendation from a hometown(Kansas city) bourbon page and was not disappointed. The bartender was super helpful and walked me through a sampling of all of the barrel aged spirits. He then gave me some special to the store bottle options for purchase which were all delicious but a little more than what I was wanting to spend. This is a comfortable rustic venue with a sitting area, and high top tables that show off the different whiskeys and the award medals. Spirits include bourbon, rye, brandy, potato vodka, and cordials. We tried the award-winning golden amber rye that tasted a bit spicy. It was very nice. Ask how to do the tasting. It's similar to wine tasting, but a little different. Cocktails are also on the menu. We tried a bourbon with Fireweed, a flavor of Thai chilies and mango with honey. It was good. Also available is Maple Syrup that has been aged in the 10th Mountain American Oak Bourbon barrels. Check out the quality gear and souvenirs such as cigars, cycling shirts and 10th Mountain signs. Like so many other craft distilleries, the spirits are just OK. However, they have a great tasting room with fantastic views, the staff was very friendly, and the military appreciation was awesome. Vail Village is such a beautiful and charming place to visit. The 10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room is exactly that. It's a comforting tasting room with a warm feel to it. There is a couch and comfortable lounge seaters in the back along with other seats along the wall peering out towards the water. It's such a great place to grab a drink and spend time with friends. They make five different spirits. You can taste each one individually for $4. A full glass is $8. You can also do a tasting of all of them! Besides the spirits alone, they have a few special infusions. They are not a full service bar so they don't serve mixed drinks. However, they do have unique infusions. I tried a lavender peach vodka. It was very tasty but did not taste very much like vodka. It was heavier on the sweet end. The BF tasted an old fashion rye infusion. On the other end, his was very strong. What a charming place in the heart of Vail Village! I was amazed how warm and authentic it is. A mix between old west and industrial decor - they have bar stools and tables made out of oak barrels. Staff was incredibly friendly and helped us craft the right drinks we wanted. The bartender was really knowledgeable and engaging. All they serve is their own traditional spirits which makes for a smaller cocktail menu, but high quality. You can choose from their speciality cocktail list, or mix and match to make your own. The Alpenglow Cordial was incredible - flavoring vanilla and carmel. Next favorite is the Bourban. It seriously tasted like drinking a sweet and savory butter! We loved it so much we ended up buying two to take home. The country band, Austin Rose was also playing - creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS COMPANY. The alcohol may be good, but they have yet to deliver the single bottle of Bourbon that I ordered more than two weeks ago. They cannot even tell me where the package currently is. Customer Service is poor. The Company's response when I asked for a tracking number was as follows: "While your order is in transit we lose a little visibility as it makes its way." This is unacceptable service. It's unacceptable not to know where a product a customer paid for in full is located or when it will arrive. Maybe one day i will receive the alcohol I ordered. Not too hopeful. Funny thing is, i can't get a refund until the alcohol is delivered per their customer service support. Guess I am shit out of luck. read more
