"Betcha' won't bite into a better butter burger" I'm usually a thick & juicy hamburger sort of guy, preferably a little pink on the inside - juice dripping done my hands - twenty napkins at the ready. This past Sunday after church went here with friends we hadn't seen awhile. Being from Texas Culver's is pretty common there and a favorite of his family. They cook their burgers on a flattop and they are pretty thin and well done with crisp edges. I would recommend a double if you really want some beef flavor. They have a very extensive menu for a fast food restaurant so you might want to go to their website and make a decision before you go - otherwise you are going to hold up the line and make the people behind you start yelling at you to make up your freakin' mind already! Not that that happened to me or anything. While I am not a fan of crinkle cut fries there's were pretty good. I think they are commissary items that arrive frozen, but that's just how the world is now. Bun was soft, tomato was hard, but it was fine. Are you like me and always get the first and smallest cut from the tomato? For once I would like to get the big center cut... If you are not real hungry, they have "snack" versions for under $5. That's what my wife and I got. Just know it only has a single patty. It comes with a small drink and small fry. Honestly - it was more than enough for lunch and I'm a pretty big guy. The average price for the "full size" dinner basket with fries and drink is between $8-$10. Didn't try the milkshakes, but understand they are really good. read more

Good all around burgers joint, but with a few extras like chicken, pot roast, etc. The butter burgers are really good, but the patties are a bit thin, so plan on at least getting a double. They have some of the best crinkle cut fries and onion rings around. If you're in the mood for something a little different, they have fried cheese curds that also hit the spot. When it comes to their frozen custard, this is where they shine. They have a variety of flavors that rotate out on a regular basis, and the custard is always fresh, creamy and delicious. Went to Culver's today for late afternoon lunch. The young man, Will, behind the counter was very friendly. The restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. My wife ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and she said it was great. She didn't offer me a bite so it must have been good. I ordered the double classic cheese burger with cheese curds. My burger was a little to well done but still good. The cheese curds were fantastic. Our order arrived in less than 10 minutes. Enjoyed watching the football game on the TV while eating. We didn't order ice cream today but at other times we have order concrete mixers and they are delicious! We enjoy Culver's for a great burger! Great location and easily accessible. read more

For the longest time I wasn't sure what this place served, as it's not listed on the signage outside, and we weren't familiar with the chain. It is Dairy-Queen type food, but done at a MUCH higher level of freshness and quality. We love the "Butterburger," always made fresh and delivered to your table within 5 minutes or less. They also have a drive-through if you're in a hurry. This is a very kid-friendly place, one of the few places in town we can take our 2 year old and feel comfortable if she's a little noisy. They even have free disposable bibs - something any Mom can appreciate. Also, the frozen custard is awesome! read more

First, I must say that I love Culvers, it's probably my favorite fast food, burger joint. I usually eat at the one in Franklin, nearly ever Sunday at lunch. I'm normally not in the Murfressboro area, but I saw Culvers & though "Yum." I pulled into the drive thru and ordered a short, raspberry concrete mixer & a small fry. I was hungry, but not starving, so I didn't order a burger. I pulled around & was greeted by a girl named "Emily." She wasn't very friendly & gave me my concrete mixer & told me to have a good day & shut the window. I figured that she'd made an oversight in my order, so I waited for her to come back. She opened the window & looked perplexed that I was still there. I told her I was waiting on a small fry & she said ok, turned around & intercepted a guy with a bag that was about to walk outside & gave it to me. It was all very rushed & I asked for salt & she didn't seem happy to give me salt. I pulled off & ate a little of the concrete mixer. It was okay, not great. The custard tasted as if it had been made the day before & was frozen & crystallized. I reached for the bag opened it to find a single hamburger with onions, tomato, & mustard, everything I hate. I was too far to turn around, so I just threw it away. If you live in the Nashville area, you'll take the time & go to the Culvers in Franklin, not this one. read more

I'll admit it. I'll join a support group if I have to. I'll even stand up and tell everyone around me, if that will help: I am a sucker for a butter burger. I've been to Culver's restaurants in Franklin and in Bowling Green, KY, and they are really darn good. Good bun, tender juicy meat, good cheese. Delicious. Their root beer is pretty darn good too. Now I am not a huge fan of their fries, and I care nothing for their cheese curd. Their custard is nothing special, either. So that leaves me with one delicious cheeseburger. Vegans will beg meat to take them back if they try this. Heart attacks are welcome with one of these in hand. I want to buried with one if I die in the next fifty years. Awesome location. Our team stopped by this location on our way back to Memphis after a baseball game. Most of our guys had never been here including me. Being from the Midwest, I was excited to see Culver's come to middle TN. And I expected the same great taste I had around the Midwest such as the Culver's in and around Wisconsin and Illinois. However, I was sort of disappointed. I just had Culver's in Chicago about 3 weeks ago, and that was a mouth-watering (or as my friend says a "mouter-ing") burger, juicy with flavor and butter, and fresh Wisconsin cheese with crisp, fresh vegetables. I felt like something was missing or didn't taste as well as the Midwest. I also overheard a conversation nearby that some guy was disappointed about the burger not being as great as the North. I haven't tried the custards to see if tasted the same. But I feel like with a lot of chains that originated from the North, it never seems to taste the same (e.g. White Castle). If you're from the Midwest, and you're craving some Culver's don't have high expectations coming here and don't expect it to taste the same as the Midwest. It still tastes good and Culver's still remains as my favorite burger fast food joint. And if you're new to Culver's, try it out. In my opinion Culver's has better [butter] burgers than Five Guys. read more

I stopped in here today after a meeting at the Embassy Convention Center for a quick lunch I could eat on the interstate drive back to Franklin. I've been on a diet for three months now doing really well, and I managed to avoid the plethora of chocolate at my meeting, and managed to not order the "Butterburger" (OK, I'm curious.. but my arteries simply will not allow that) or any of the frozen custards this place is evidently known for. I was a good girl, and ordered a Grilled Chicken sandiwch and a Diet Coke and was quite ready to remain on the plan. Then I saw a menu listing for "Wisconsin Cheese Curds." OK, I don't know about you. But fried cheese - that's a weakness. I could agree with my doctor that it's not technically a carb since it is cheese, not potato, fried - but I knew better and ordered it anyway. The chicken sandwich was fine.. kind of nice that it was presented on a hoagie roll for a little change of pace. (I do realize that's bread, but I'm sorry, you cannot eat and drive... which I had to do today... and not be eating a sandwich). The cheese curds were so yummy. They range in size from teeny tiny droplets of warm gooey yumminess to larger bites that will still be hotter than you think when you crunch down. I didn't use a dipping sauce at all, and they were awesome. I gave up 670 calories for those things (they do have all their nutrition on their website), which for me is huge... but sometimes you've just got to. The wait for a standard fast food was a little slower than expected, but the total bill was also a little less than expected. $8.00 I think for a chicken sandwich, upgrade to the cheese curds, and a diet pepsi. My only recommendation if you repeat my order is realize the grilled chicken sandwich does not have any condiments on the bread, you might ask for a side of whatever you wish to spread on it. The price is not as expensive as I thought. Just left Culver's after waiting 20 minutes for a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered through drive thru and saw two ordered after me get their order. Ended up having to go in and they completely forgot my order and it made it very quickly. (So clearly they had grilled chicken ready to go) Too bad the order was wrong! I asked for no tomato and added American cheese but got a sandwich with tomato and no cheese. I understand it takes time to cook the orders "fresh" but it does not take 20 minutes! This is a place I always stop for a treat or meal whilst I am going to or from Nashville Tennessee from Chattanooga. The menu is Large and the combinations of foods and flavors can be baffling. I suggest looking at the online menu first. The are known for their ( beef and dairy product,) but I totally recommend anything on menu. All locations can become extremely busy, but just be patient, Culver's is always well staffed and clean. They offer flavors of the Day when it comes to their Ultra smooth dairy products including Ice cream and "concrete mixers." They offer many sizes of all menu options and I RECOMMEND THE REAL CHEESE CURDS! Customer service came up short. The guy that took our order over the speakerphone in the drive through sounded like we were an interruption he didn't want to be bothered with. As our drinks were being handed out the window, soda was running down the sides of the cups. We asked the girl if she could wipe them off, she thrust the wet cups and a napkin at us and said "Here." The food here is very good most of the time. The service can be lacking sometimes. I sat waiting for my food one time while the staff hit on some girl. I paid 18.00 for a fish combo and soup that wasn't what I wanted served by some rude young brat who was whining that her job was too hard so she wanted to go home. I was not pleased. Than I tasted the fish and tookna bite of tje soup. I thought I died. The Atlantic Cod fish was crisp on the outside, tender and moist inside. The broccoli cheese soup was delicious! The two stars are for quality and taste of the food. The three missing stars could be fixed by a nicer, more helpful staff. The ladt star is missing because I had a 10 minute wait for my food. When we first came in, we weren't sure if it was closed or not lol. I got a Culver's deluxe single burger with fries and it was really good. My mom got a shake, but she said it could've been a bit thicker. My brother got chicken tenders with fries and he said they were pretty good. Overall, I liked the fries most. I never had Culver's until about a week ago. We got some coupons in the mail and decided to try it out since we are new the area and we are in love now. Very friendly staff, very eager to assist, and answer questions with the menu. My husband got the fish sandwich, and I got my new craving, the butter burger! Very delicious. My little one's chicken strips were tasty as well as the fries and onion rings. The "seasoned" green beans were not very seasoned though. But since this was a "cheat night" from our diet, we went all out and got a concrete mixer and we were hooked. OK Culvers, most of the time your food is great for fast food. I'd rate you above the other fast feeders. However, you have the BEST sweet potato fries anywhere, the best! Why, oh WHY do you only have them for about 2 months a year? The other negative is that the price seems to vary everytime, even though I usually get the same thing.... and you never get an itemized receipt...hmmm... but the sweet potato fries make it worthwhile, only when they are serving them. I was so excited to see our very own Culvers in Mboro! Being from the Midwest ive probably ate at 14 different Culvers maybe more. They have a Co culture of having their owners on staff which is great and they are usually very engaging. Except in the Mboro location. The gentleman owner walks around half a wake or in a buterburger coma not sure whats up with that. The lady proprietor has messed up my order every time she has taken it. Last visit I was unfortunate enough to have come to the counter when she decides she wants to be helpful & take an order. Jeezz leave it to your employees woman they are much better than you they always get my order right. Needless to say the last time it was wrong & she agreed to correct it. I felt obligated to pay the difference in the mistake so i approached the counter. She with her back turned was complaining to her employee about me & my order. When she was done she turned around and i asked her if it was that big of a deal i would pay the difference she insisted she would take care of it. Wow how big of her. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant even her poor employee had that "I think he's standing behind you" look on his face. Have seen a few laughable comments comparing this place to Steak and Shake. PLEASE don't degrade Culvers to those standards. This place kicks S & S rear end. The food, service, and especially the atmosphere are head and shoulders above them. The burger patties may be somewhat similar in their appearance, but that's about as far as I can take any resemblance. Culvers taste and quality is much better without question. One of the best burgers around frankly, esp the double. I've eaten at many Culvers over the years, dozens of times. Used to have one near us in IN. Honestly can say I've never had a bad meal. Emp's are clean and helpful. Wide variety of menu items, many I tell myself I'm going to try, but just can't bring myself to pass up a good dbl-cheese. The rings are well worth the upgrade, think it's 50c on a basket. My family of 4 usually gets at least one basket with rings so we can all share. Don't listen to the silly detractors on some reviews here. You can't make 100% happy, but some of these folks are way off base. read more
