My absolute favorite fast food restaurant ever!! When I moved to Destin from Wisconsin, besides my friends and family of course, one of the things I missed most was Culver's! There is one in Navarre so every time I drove out to Pensacola I would go there. My husband even took me there for Valentine's Day thinking it'd be romantic haha. Imagine my excitement when I heard this one was being built in Destin!! The butterburgers are seriously the best. I've asked around to see where I could get one to compare (before they built this Culver's) and people had suggestions which i tried and nothing compared... and finally custard in Destin! I'm obsessed. I haven't found any other place even selling custard, let alone Culver's custard. They make their own root beer too, which is delicious. The service is good too! I could not believe the rudeness of the staff and manager. They messed up our entire order and kept telling us it was our fault. I waited an hour for them to get it right and still ended up leaving without all of our food. I wish I could allow myself to write this review in its entirety but I don't want to get upset again. Being from southern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois I was stoked when Culver's opened! We don't live in destin but it's always on my stop list for a quick burger. Today we decided to stop and eat in. So I wanted fries, curds, all of it! So I had to ask 'do you have separate Fryers for seafood and fries' because of a terrible seafood allergy I have. They don't :(. So I was stuck with the overly salted mashed potatoes to replace my normal order of fries. We don't have Culver's where we live, so we enjoy visiting one when we are near one. We were planning to go to a seafood restaurant in Destin, but we didn't go early enough and it was really crowded so I suggested Culver's because we would enjoy the food and it's kid friendly. This restaurant is so clean. Really, really clean. That was great. The food was great. The cheese curds are great. The concretes for dessert are soooooo good (notice I didn't say great. But they are great, too!) The staff there was so nice. We have four kids (2 of them under age 2). We spilled one of the little ones' juice when I was trying to adjust the lid on her sippy cup. The staff immediately saw what happened and quickly brought us napkins and helped me clean up the spill. Not up to the Culver's quality I'm used to. Burgers were pathetic, smashed, and carelessly thrown together. Multiple items left out of bags. Kid that brought food out handed me the bag and I asked him if he could bring some ketchup. He brought the 2nd order for our vehicle and I asked Is there Ketchup in there? Great fish and burgers! But service and courtesy could be improved. The service was very disorganized--lots of customers were standing around waiting for their take-out orders; car customers had to go inside the store to wait for their order. After 40 minutes (ugh), our to-go order was ready. A couple of customers before us had complained that their orders were wrong, so we carefully checked ours. Sure enough, they had put French fries in instead of the cole slaw we requested. When we pointed this out, they told us we were wrong bc that's what the order said. We said that wasn't what we requested though- the cashier had made a mistake. They argued with us and refused to change it, and made us pay for an extra cole slaw instead of just fixing the mistake. Since we were tired and had waited so long, we just gave them the money and left. But we did want to leave this review so Culvers management and other customers are aware of the bad service and the staff's discourtesy toward customers after their own mistake. read more

Very disappointed in the service here. Yelp indicates that they are open until 10pm. We pulled into the parking lot around 7:55pm. There were 2 orange cones blocking part of the parking lot but the lane to the drive-thru was open. We sat in the drive thru behind 4 other cars for approx 7 or 8 min. As we were sitting in the drive-thru, I watched a worker exit the building and place a third cone in the drive-up lane blocking the entire parking lot. My husband and son commented on the early closing time and how lucky we were to make it before 8 PM. When it was my turn, I pulled up to the order window where the car in front of me had just had their order taken. The young girl then proceeds to tell me that they are closed and not taking any more orders. I let her know that I had been waiting in the line since before 8pm and all but calls me a liar telling me that someone had moved the cone and that she was counting the cars! Very poor customer service. I work in a regional management position at a large bank and we would NEVER treat a customer like this. read more

I've heard great things about Culver's. From many opinions locally, it is their top burger choice. I've been meaning to try it for a few months and was glad to finally experience it. I suppose the first important point to make is that if you are going east on 98 be very careful about how you are going to turn into their parking lot. There's no direct way to pull into their driveway so you have to proceed to the light and go through some other stores parking lot to do so. A U-turn is a bit tricky with all the traffic lately, so just be careful. The exterior looks very well done. Very easy to park and has a drive-through if you need. My wife and I are completely unfamiliar with the menu so it was taking us a while to figure out what we want and the gentleman at the register this afternoon was superb as far as guiding us through his recommendations. I had no idea they had more than burgers. There is a reuben, pot roast sandwich, and other non-traditional burger place kind of sandwiches which caught me by surprise. I had a swiss mushroom burger with bacon, fries, and shake. Wife had a meal that I will let her describe in her own review. I like the fries and most burger places are good and I am pretty indifferent about fries in general so I'm not going to write them highly or write them low. They are good enough that you will not have any complaints. I like that they are crinkle cut and a bit thicker than most fast food french fries but when I think of crinkle cut, the absolute best to me are Nathan's. As far as the burger, the bun was decent, and burger felt a little bit fattier than a shake shack, five guys, or smash burger. The consistency felt like it had a little bit more chewiness to it and didn't break apart the way some of the other brands I just mentioned do. For many people that prefer that texture, you will love it. For me, it's ok. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was ok. I liked the buttery flavor and taste of their swiss and mushrooms. The mushrooms tasted slightly seasoned and buttery. Shake was good, so once again didn't hate it and didn't love it. I would rate red Robin #1, smashburger #2, shake shack #3 for burger places and their milkshakes. What stood out beyond any place I have been to lately was the guy at the register so I felt was very helpful, charming, a bit on the shy side, but was so helpful in walking us through the menu and making us feel comfortable with what to order. This kind of service is critical because without his help I would've not thought of adding the bacon which is an up charge her $.50. I would not have added a milkshake which is obviously an additional cost as well. This wind up being about a $20 order for the two meals. That is approximately $4 more than it would've been without him suggesting different ways to go about our order. I think any restaurant owner would be happy with a 20% uptick in sales at the point of the cashier working a little magic like he did. Our order was to go, and we were pleased with the overall prep speed. Their packaging is very nice. Hamburger was inside a well branded box, stapled shut bag with the receipt on the outside to confirm it was the right order. I appreciated the shake coming with a straw as well as a spoon and the lid being open wide enough where I could use the spoon to eat some of the larger chunks of fruit out of it. I was also very happy to see that they add ketchup in the bag as well as napkins. We thought we forgot them as we drove off but when we opened the bag and noticed that it is already included. Great job overall. I want to mention that a for overall rating in no way means it was a bad experience. If I had to rate the food alone I would say a 3 (middle of the road). If I had to rate the service I would say it's a 5 (stellar and rare) and came up with the four based on on that combination. Based on what I saw on the menu if I had time to stay in the restaurant to eat and had enough time to really enjoy the experience I would go with the pot roast sandwich and the mashed potatoes and gravy. So now I have some motivation to try it again. read more

This is a burger and ice cream shop you don't want to miss! The butter burgers are just that...BUUUUTTTTER...they melt in your mouth. The manager and staff were pleasant and welcomed us. The menu is easy to read, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of cool places to sit. Don't forget when your done eating your dinner there is dessert, freshly blended frozen custard. Custard is a creamier, thicker, better version of ice cream. Overall this place was solid but unspectacular. The burger was ok. Good portion size but for some reason it wasnt very hot. That was kind of a turn off. The fries were actually hotter than the burger and they were solid. The restaurant is fairly clean and organized and the staff was ok. I've been to Culver's three different times now, and for the life of me I can't figure out the appeal of this chain. The cheese on the burger is rarely melted, the patty has no flavor, and if there is butter on the toasted bun you certainly can't taste it very much. The butter burger tastes more like an onion and lettuce sandwich than a top tier fast food burger. The fries are your standard frozen crinkle fries, and the concretes just have something missing. It takes at least 10 minutes to get your food in the drive-thru, and you're going to pay considerably more when something like steak and shake is a much better choice. They train their employees to be overly giddy, and I'm surprised they don't make them wear 12 pieces of flair - maybe they are just trying to hard at the whole Midwestern values thing. I thought I would never say this, but I would take McDonald's over Culver's any day of the week. read more

I have never seen such total incompetence among order takers ...ever! We had 3 burgers, 2 double scoop sundaes, a shake two fries and one order of rings. After repeating the order numerous times, we got to the pay window. Just to be safe, we asked the cashier to repeat our order. Sure enough, she left off the shake and one of the sundaes. She corrected the order and asked us to pull ahead to wait. A server brought out one sundae. We asked about the other sundae. The girl looked puzzled and said she'd go make it. She returned with the sundae and a bag of food and hurried away. It was then we realized that she had forgotten the shake. Most consistently quality fast food in US. Admit that the Butter Burger Basket with malts substituted as our drink is our Go-To, but have had almost every item on their menu.
