The food here is great and very authentic! We are local and directly behind them in Emerald Lakes. We eat from there often. They are a bit limited on staff and only have a couple of small tables for dining in. This is basically a pickup only restaurant. I've been trying to find a way to put in orders ahead of time in hopes of saving time. Pickup orders sometimes require a lengthy wait! I've tried calling ahead but, again, limited staff, so no one ever answers. Their online pickup ordering system charges a $3.00 fee which is above and beyond the tip. Terrible service. The cashier was playing a game on his phone while taking my order, so it took him about 10 minutes to enter it in the system. When my food came out, it was wrong so I asked him to have it remade. While I was eating, he sat on FaceTime telling someone he made me upset in Spanish. First the served was so horrible they didn't understand anything I was saying both my orders were wrong I asked for the huevos con chorizo without rice and beans I got the picture you see. This is the authentic Mexican food you've been looking for. This food reminds me of when I lived in Sierra Vista, AZ and we would go to Nogales every weekend. This food is super legit. You can't even see my food in the pic because I bout ate it all before I got a picture in. I had the carne asada quesadilla and my dining companion got the chicken nachos. He also got a carne asada taco. He had been to this spot before so he was familiar with how delicious it is. Next time I come back I'm gonna try the picadillo. This is in a corner of a gas station, so certainly there is no ambiance, but that was certainly not my goal. I love hole in the walls and this certainly checks the box, but I love burritos even more, hence the highly Anticipated visit. The food fell short for me. The staff wasn't accommodating when ask if I could pay to have a combo burrito with asada and chorizo, said only one meat allowed, which I found odd, but went with the asada. Very little meat in the burrito and what meat was overly fatty and quite a few gristles, not to mention the steak lacked flavor, but biggest complaint was the burrito was mostly rice. It was a a burrito of chorizo, egg, potatoes, cheese, rice, beans and LOVE. I watched the customers eating as I was waiting. They were demolishing their food. I figured I'd try it out when Tops hamburgers was closed. As others have mentioned, it's inside a gas station, which can be scary. I was pleasantly surprised by the service, food quality and taste. I ordered guacamole, queso with chorizo (dip), 2 boxes of chips and a chorizo taco with everything. The taco was my favorite, but not by a lot. I love the way they heat the corn tortillas because they were really easy to chew, but still stayed together. That's not an easy balance. It had great, balanced flavor when I added salsa and fresh lime. I love the sauce - great flavor and good spice without being crazy hot. My measure of any Mexican food is the guacamole. If mine is better, then I don't go back most of the time. Theirs is really close. The guac is made there and was really good. It's fresh, with nice chunks of avacado and great flavor. A few more onions than I prefer, but still really good. The queso with chorizo was also good, but not as good as the other 2 items. It was a little greasy and thin for a dip to eat with chips. The flavor was great and I'd probably order it again to take home. Once it's been in the fridge, I can remove the grease and reheat. Five star food and five star service but the pricing is bordering on ridiculousness, which is disappointing given that if it was reasonable, I may be here every day given how awesome and close it is. It's not quite enough to make you walk out if you've decided on trying this place, but you'll hesitate to come back despite loving the food. For reference, my recent order was a sandwich, two empanadas, and a side of chips and queso, which came to 36 dollars after tax. That's just a bit much for a gas station food counter. However, as I've said, it really is great good with great flavors. The empanadas are fantastic, you can order a variety of meats in burritos, tacos, tortas, etc., all good. Salsa and Queso, good. I came here for vacation and found a hole in the wall "Authentic" Mexican food place to try out, I spent $50 dollar on 4 steak tacos and 2 tortas steak and chicken. The steak on both the tacos and tortas were extremely unseasoned as well as there not being any charred marks either. It was almost like the steak was boiled and then they threw black pepper on it and called it a day. My wife had the chicken Milanese torta and to her description the meat was rubbery and felt as if the food was old. We ended throwing all the food away in fear of getting sick because everything had a weird texture and taste to it. read more

Thanks to the previous Yelp reviews we were able to have awesome breakfast burritos and some amazing Tortas, Tacos, Chile Rellenos , and Picadillo for lunch while on vacation. It seems there's a direct correlation around here between not having a mortgage and jacking your prices up as high as possible. If your place is in the corner of a dirty parking lot with mangy dogs prowling in the corner, your tacos are going to be 7 dollars a pop. If you live in a gas station, your burritos are going to be 9 dollars minimum. Anyway, long story short, skip this place. I don't know how they manage to get such terrible meat quality while still charging so much for their food, but good for them. Plenty of lily white Karents hanging out waiting for their kaisa-dillas out front though. Laughing at the recent review from the white guy saying "I know my tamales.
