There were only a couple of other people in the restaurant, yet we still had to flag someone down just to get more salsa. When our food came out, it was practically dropped on the table and the server walked away. There was no checking to see if everything was okay, if we needed anything else, or even a simple follow-up. The prices were fair, which I will give them credit for. The food was okay--not bad, but nothing that really stood out or made me want to come back specifically for it. Overall, it was an average meal with disappointing service. If I lived in the area, I highly doubt this would be a place I'd return to.

A female manager also stopped by our table (I wish I remembered her name!) and was incredibly welcoming and personable. We also happened to see the female bartender handle a difficult situation, and we were genuinely impressed with how calm and in control she remained. She handled it extremely well, and it definitely stood out to us. And the tableside guacamole--hands down the BEST we have ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and worth ordering every single time. Great food, excellent service, and a staff that clearly knows how to take care of their guests. We will absolutely be back!

On this occasion the quality and quantity didn't fit the price and was very insulting! I ordered Mahi Mahi with the asparagus and rice. It was the size of a child's meal for starters. The Mahi Mahi was VERY dry. I did tell my server but nothing was done, only an apology. I was also surprised at the tiny size of the asparagus and small portion of rice. I didn't push it because my husband gets embarrassed and will eat a disappointing meal and never complain. This was ridiculous however. His meal was also pretty small for the cost. Maybe it's changed since Covid rocked our lives in so many negative ways that restaurants are cutting back, but to be dried out fish isn't acceptable. I wish our server would have at least offered to replace it. I was just as mad at myself for not asking for a new dish or my money back. Our server was nice. But that didn't make anything better with my meal! Next time I won't be swayed by my dining partners desire to not complain. He also gave the server a VERY generous tip. He's just a really good guy that way but also gets taken advantage of in these type situations! I feel Cantina Laredo should give us a do-over.

My family is here on vacation, we are all born in Cali and have had all of the most popular places. On our last day we decided to give Papis Tacos a try! We ordered the Smash burger, Steak Burrito and the steak Quesadilla. Everything was good but the SMASH BURGER was the best burger we have ever had. The bread was amazing, the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was the best sauce we have ever had. I am so glad we tried this small place and it deserves so much praise. The costumer service was just as good. read more
