My husband and I stopped into this chicken sandwich store. There's a menu with several different chicken salads to choose from. Different flavors and some included nuts and fruit. They have pimento cheese as well! Soups and salads are available. Yummy homemade cookies bonus I husband chose the Livius chicken salad on toasted bread. It had nice flavor, pickles and eggs southern style. He said he would've liked to have an extra scoop of chicken salad. The bread was nicely toasted. The sandwich came with your choice of side we got the broccoli salad. It also came with came with a tasty pickle as well. They give you a small short bread cookie with vanilla icing. Delish. I had a very disappointing experience on April 11, 2024, which is inconsistent with the several times I have visited this place. I entered at about 5 minutes to 7:00pm (it closes at 7pm) to pick up a container of chicken salad. It should be noted that the "Closed" sign was displayed, but the door was unlocked. His badge read "John... General Manager." When I entered "John" was waiting on another lady. He looked annoyed but was trying to help this lady with her purchase. During the time he was gathering her order, he stopped to "close out" the three registers. At about 7:05 or so, when he was done assisting the lady ahead of me, he looked at me and that is when I told him that I would like to buy a container. He said, "Oh, I thought that you were with her." I told him that I was not. "Well, we are closed but she just kept banging on the door so I had to let her in." I told him that I had entered at 5 til 7, so I didn't think it was closed. "Well, we sold out of everything so we don't have anything to sell." There was no "How can I help you?" no apology for not waiting on me sooner, or for having nothing to offer me after I told him what I wanted. I certainly felt that he was annoyed when I got there and was even more annoyed when I asked for some chicken. It seemed as if he couldn't wait go get out of there and I was his final obstacle. To me he was rude. He knew I hadn't arrived with the lady he was assisting when I walked in, and used that as an excuse as to why he didn't offer to help me at anytime, while I waited or after she left. Again, this is inconsistent with my several past experiences, but since his had the title of General Manager, he represents (or at least should) the character and mindset of the business. The store was very well kept and the manager was very nice. Overall, I would recommend this store to anyone who is in the Destin Area for a light meal that truly satisfies one's soul. Even though the restaurant originally started in Alabama, they have brought the hospitality and welcome feeling that I always look forward to after a full day of shopping. The service is good but the quality of the ingredients are really bad. They use high fructose corn syrup in their chicken salad. Why would you add such a vile sweetener to chicken salad? The knowledge of this place being a chain does not escape me, but this was my first time going to see them while on vacation in the area. The macaroni and cheese was a great compliment. They have multiple flavors of chicken salad, but the traditional Southern flavor for me in number one and ordered the BLT.
