Very cute and intimate place for dinner. I appreciate the staff for accommodating us with an outdoor table in short notice. I would recommend reservations in case they get booked since it is a smaller restaurant. The menu consist of mostly seafood entrees and I would recommend the lobster with asparagus. It was cooked nicely and good portion. The offer complimentary bread. The staff was super attentive during our dinning experience. They have a great dessert menu and some chef specials for the main and dessert menus. If your staying at the Henderson I would recommend dinning here one of the nights if your feeling a more intimate dinning experience. Just a a few minutes of a walk from the main hotel. read more

Beach walk cafe at the Henderson Park Inn was the perfect restaurant! Breakfast - the pancakes are so buttery and fluffy. The stack was very large so I ordered one pancake and it was perfect. I tried the original and chocolate chip on two different days. You can ask to take your breakfast to go and have it on the beach! Dinner Day 1 -Bread - the honey butter was so sweet and complimented the warm bread perfectly. -Crab Cakes - possibly one of the best I've had throughout the country. These are like a southwest crab cake. Super delicious and the peppers balance out the crab. This can be an entree on their own! - Fried Chicken - they are so crisp and tender. It's half a chicken so bring a friend or date to share! The rosemary isn't too strong and the well balanced. Dinner Day 2 - Lobster Bisque - this one is more tomato based. Closer to a tomato soup! There was a VERY generous amount of lobster. A grilled cheese with this would have been perfect! - Mixed Green Salad - bacon lovers this is the salad of your dreams. The salad was on the sweeter side. The tart strawberries and goat cheese was wonderfully balanced. - Snapper - I'm not the biggest fish person but this was perfect. The mushroom/ corn risotto was the real star of the dish! And it was topped with matchstick truffle fries. I would definitely order this dish again! I topped the meals off with a nice cup of coffee. The service here was amazing. I was very impressed. I did not have to leave the Inn to indulge in a wonderful meal. Why would you when the restaurant is so wonderful! Let me start by saying I've had dinner at Beach Walk Cafe 3 times, and lunch there twice. The food has been consistently outstanding. The crab cakes, lobster tails, and grouper live rent free in my head! The views are unparalleled, and, up until my latest dining experience (8/23/25), the service has been absolutely impeccable. Sadly, my latest visit was beyond disappointing, as the customer service was not acceptable. I made a reservation (via telephone) for my party of 5. I specified we wanted to be seated outside, and I was assured that would not be a problem as parties of 5 or more are seated outside. There was a pop up shower right before we arrived, so the chairs/tables outside were wet when we got there. When I checked in with the host, he told me we could not be seated outside given the weather (which I understood). Here's where it got sticky: the option he gave me for our party of 5 was to be seated indoors at 2 separate tables. I asked if he could put the tables together (for obvious reasons - a group of 5 women on vacay want to sit together), and was told no. I was taken aback, and let him know (in a very kind manner) we wanted to be seated together, and 2 tables wouldn't work. He then said he could wipe the chairs and table off, but it may take a minute. Unfortunately, the kindness and patience I showed him was not reciprocated. He appeared inconvenienced and visibly unhappy. We were seated after a few minutes; the chairs and table were clean, dry, and I was encouraged the night would pick up (service-wise). I was mistaken. Our server (I believe his name was Dexter; however, I'm not certain) left much to be desired. He was less than friendly, and was inattentive. My dirty dinner plate sat long enough I had to push it toward the center of the table to get it out of my way, and the remaining dirty dishes weren't cleared when I was served my dessert wine (pic attached). Throughout the meal, I never felt welcome by him. This dinner was a gift from me to my friends, on our last night in Destin. The night was impacted negatively by the lack of customer service, and that should never be the case - esp when you're making a considerable purchase. I will more than likely give them another shot, given my other experiences were truly stellar. I had the almond grouper special and my husband ordered the tuna, cooked rare. We looked at the dessert menu but nothing stood out to us to order since we were so full from dinner. The restaurant is well sited, well run and has everything you would expect from a place in this price range. My wife had the filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, excellent all around. She also had the beet salad, excellent. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were overcooked and in my experience with this dish, should have been deveined. This created an unappetizing crunchy "extra" that should not be present in a $55.00 entree. The dish was average, certainly not what I was expecting from a restaurant that was so good in every other aspect. Additionally, I had the Caesar salad and it was depressingly average. The service was good, but not great. The fried chicken looked amazing, so perhaps we will try it next time. read more

We found this restaurant on yelp and once again we were not disappointed! The food was delicious. I had the snapper with risotto and hubby had the sirloin. The asparagus was perfect service was impeccable. We did not have a reservation but we were seated immediately. Originally we sat outside which is so charming. The weather however looked ominous and they were very accommodating and we were seated inside at the window. There is a huge patio area and a fire pit. We made a reservation for breakfast at 9am. It was pouring rain upon arrival and the restaurant was empty. We were turned away due to our son's age(not having seen the age restriction prior). I went on the website to see the age restriction is 13. Our child is 12. If you notice the places we frequently dine you will see that this place is no comparison and is basically a dump (with regard to ambiance ) . When going to Destin, I would never go here. Just an update to this review. On open table they have a five star, which is very interesting because I left them a one star on open table and I wrote a message to the manager(with no reply) and my review was removed and I can't leave another. read more

Not kid friendly and just not Friendly in general. The staff was nice but the manager was very rude. He wouldn't allow us to bring our 9 month old baby in. He said you must be 13 to eat in the restaurant. I understand some establishments may try to target different customers but family's in the Destin area are a huge part of the customer base. And if you do not allow children there's a way to say it with out being a prick and suggesting we try much cheaper and lesser quality restaurants. We have had a place here for 20 years and come several times a year. We will Just continue to dine at Ruth Chris and other establishments. The staff were very attentive and added to the experience. The ceviche and red snapper were so tasty. Ambiance was very intimate and private, though I would recommend a change of music as it didn't quite fit with the atmosphere. Went for our anniversary dinner. Wanted to go to a nicer upscale place. It is very nice. Great great wait staff and the manager and the assistant manager are in the restaurant checking on things and are very appreciative to their customers. We had a shrimp/ crab appetizer - A+ I had the snapper. Was too salty for me. I am not big on salt. Probably should have asked for another but everything else was so good. We went for a birthday and had the "VIP Toes in the sand" experience. It was amazing! The dinner was wonderful, the food was fantastic and the service was the best. Hunter was our server and he made our dining experience very special. He was very attentive and took care of everything we needed. The menu options were very good and I wanted to try them all. This restaurant was so bomb, I plan to fly back to Florida, have another meal here, then fly back home to Dallas. DEAD Serious. I'm talking five stars across the board.... From the ambiance, to the food, to the service. I'm a 32 year old Texan and their bone-in ribeye was in the TOP 2 of the best steaks I've ever had. A little bit more fat than I am used to but I could cut the cow with a spoon! The herb butter combined with the steak juices made for the perfect "gravy" on top. The truffle fries were a game changer and who knew someone out there could perfect grilled asparagus? Not really the type of place to take your girl or guy friends--- go with your boo, sit outside and dine as you listen to the calm waves whisper. Dear Lord I'm getting chills. We had a 7:30pn resy and it made for the perfect view of Destin, FL's most beautiful sunset. Be prepared to spend some moo-la, but I'm telling you, it's worth it! Took the concierge 2 days on a waitlist for dinner reservation for us! Gorgeous quaint small restaurant in a beachfront boutique hotel, The Henderson Inn Bed & Breakfast. Greeted promptly upon arrival with a friendly and smiling hostess. Offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We opted for inside next to a window due to the sun beating down on the outside table in the late afternoon. Our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. Kentucky Mule was perfect. All our food was cooked to perfection in terms of temperature, but needed a touch more salt. I requested that the Scallops n Pasta be made with olive oil n garlic instead of the 3 cheese sauce and they accommodated. My wife loved her Shrimp n Grits. Key Lime Pie was tart and light. 5 stars for ambiance and service. Food was high quality but just a bit off. Definitely will be back. read more

Henderson Park Inn is a swank resort, and we thought the beach walk café would be similarly excellent. But we had a real problem with one of the entrées. Let's say some good things first. The smoked tomato soup was delicious and made from scratch. The snapper wasn't what I expected but it was still nicely cooked. There were a lot of side dishes going on including risotto and shoestring potatoes. The side dishes were good, although overly salted. Now we get to the problem dish. The half chicken was terrible. We complained to our server who was very nice and ended up taking away half of the cost of the chicken entree. The chicken was the toughest bird I've ever tried to eat. I love chicken legs but this one was so chewy that it reminded me of rubber. Our server called somebody who determined that probably it was the fault of the chicken. Apparently this chicken was chased around the pen by wolves. Overall, I couldn't recommend this restaurant after trying to eat the rubber chicken. Even if it was the chickens' fault I have to think the chef had at least some share of the blame, probably more than the $20 that was taken off our bill. $160 for this meal was unacceptable. There are hundreds of restaurants in the area. Look elsewhere. read more

Stopped in to what has been one of my favorite places in Destin for over 20 years ...service was great view to die for food was excellent but just not what it used to be .. menu was a little small and while starter carb and corn soup was good was kind of average .. same with smoked fish dip and the Caesar Salad. Main dish was a Snapper with mushroom corn risotto and truffled potato hay on top. Again beautiful but at $48 just not the wow dish have come to expect from all my previous visits. To sum it up the food could be awful but this place is worth a visit for the View and ambiance alone. Just wish they would expand or be a little more inventive with the menu. We discovered this place at Thanksgiving and had a couple great meals and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great so we decided to come back on Christmas Eve. We had a 6 o'clock reservation for Christmas Eve 2024 party of two and we got there about half an hour early to get a drink first at the tiki bar before dinner. We sat there for about 10 minutes and realized that nobody was gonna come over and take our drink order so I walked over to Tiki bar and asked the bartender for a couple of Manhattan's, he looked at me like that's impossible and he said, "do you want a cosmopolitan? I said, "yeah, I'll take one but my wife wants a Manhattan."He looked very put out, so I asked him, "are you on duty?" There were a couple other people sitting at the bar and one lady said to the bartender, "just do your job"...so he walked back into the restaurant to get the drinks and 5-10 minutes later he came came back out and sat the drinks down in front of us. It was $30 and change for a couple drinks so I rounded up to $40 which was a nice, but undeserved tip. At 6:00 our table was ready. We went inside and actually didn't realize that it was a fixed menu where you could order from three different appetizers, a salad or soup and three choices for your entrée and a dessert, never really knowing what the price was. Later we found out It was $95 per person which is not a big deal. The food was very good and the service in the restaurant was very good as well. The bill came to $236.47 that was with one drink each with dinner. I tipped $50 which was around 23%. As much as we enjoyed the location, the view and the food, the experience at the tiki bar really dampened our enthusiasm to return anytime soon. read more

My husband took me to this beachside restaurant for my birthday. The setting was lovely even though we couldn't see the ocean as we arrived after dark. Service was excellent and was fine dining service without pretense. But the food was not as good as I expected for the price. Crab cakes were flat and charred and not lump crab but more what you would find at any seafood place on the coast. There was a thick sauce over them. I had the grouper special. Grouper was slightly overcooked and hot, the two shrimp that it came with were barely warm and overcooked. They also looked like they had freezer burn on them. Smoked Gouda grits and sundried tomato sauce was the best part but overpowered the fish. The white asparagus was slightly too crispy to eat. My husband got the tuna which we were warned would be rare inside (we love sushi and had no problem), but then it came out medium well. Our waitress was quick to talk to the chef and he fixed it right away. That was much appreciated. We both had wedge salad. Dressing was a bit thin. Bread was very tasty. My glass of rose was not a great choice due to how heavily seasoned and sauce heavy our dishes were. The key lime pie was very good, so that was a nice finish. They gave us a scoop of the Corleone ice cream which was strangely earthy. Not sure that the $40-$45 a plate was justified, but some of the food was good.
