Looking for good seafood while visiting the area and stumbled upon this place. We're so glad we did! This location is right next to the gas station with outdoor patio seating only. The patio is cute, offering 2 picnic tables & chairs circling fire pits/grills. You order inside at the counter and can take the food to-go or eat on the patio. The cashier helped us decide on ordering fried shrimp, fried fish, steamed shrimp, and potatoes/corn. As soon as we got our order and started eating, we knew that we had to order to more because the seafood was delicious and fresh. The steamed ruby red shrimp were the best! The owner was so hospitable -- he offered us smoked tuna dip & crackers, sodas, s'mores, and key lime pie for free (all delicious btw)! Was headed to Jackacudas for dinner but it ended up being closed (who ended up giving us a coupon for a free app since they were closed which was very kind of them). We looked up nearby places and went to Skippers. It is located in a gas station parking lot and the seating is only outdoor, but please do not let it dissuade you. This place was the most incredible service and restaurant I've been to in a while! The ambiance is quite nice with the string lights and all of the fires that are there. We were planning on taking everything to go and eating at home, but opted to stay and glad we did. We walked in and were a bit overwhelmed, but the service was so incredible and helped us through our order. We got fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fried fish and corn and potatoes. As we were waiting for our food, Chet (the owner I presume) came out and greeted us and was so welcoming! We talked for a bit and he returned with some smoked fish dip which was so tasty we finished the container in minutes. They brought out our food and it was so good we went back and ordered a bit more and stayed there to eat it. The shrimp and fish were so fresh and there was plenty of corn and potatoes from our order. After we finished, Chet came out and handed us some key lime pie. I don't typically like key lime pie, but it wasn't too tart like most I had and was so enjoyable I would highly recommend trying it. Friendly staff who made recommendations for a family of 4. Seafood was excellent! We had the flounder nuggets and some jumbo shrimp! Cajun fries were nicely seasoned- house mix. I highly recommend the Cole slaw- surprisingly that was my favorite item for the night. Ambiance is nice since it is a quiet location. Away from tourist restaurants. Reason for the 1 star deduction was that the corn was ice cold! Not sure if they had it back in the freezer or in a really cold area of the fridge but it was not warmed enough. We decided to try a seafood market this time as our youngest children, now late teens, can eat their body weight in crab legs and we didn't want to blow our vacation fund in one meal. The potatoes were chopped, rather than whole like you'd get at a seafood boil, which I preferred. The corn was just basic corn, and still a bit cold. I'd skip it next time. What an amazing meal!! They gave us a skewer and some shrimp and we cooked it out on the deck in a fire pit. So fun! We also had steamed crab, tuna dip and fried grouper. The grouper was light and delicious and not greasy. Tuna dip was fabulous, such a unique taste. The funnest part was sitting in the lit up deck in the winter near the fire and eating outside. We were greeted nicely and when I asked for a steamed platter, the young man explained I could choose from any of the fresh selections in the cooler and our choice of seasoning. I chose 1/2lb snow crab and 1/2lb medium shrimp with corn and potatoes and house seasoning. My husband ordered 1/2lb snow crab and 1lb medium shrimp with corn and potatoes. The wait was 15 minutes and we were the ONLY people there. We walked to the gas station to grab an adult beverage while we waited (they do have drinks in the cooler for purchase at the market), about 5 minutes later we were brought hot pans of steamed seafood perfection. While we were eating, the owner pulled up and asked how we were doing. He brought us a tub of smoked tuna dip (it is absolutely amazing) and a box of Wheat Thins, told us it was on the house, shook my husband's hand, and thanked us for stopping by! We will DEFINITELY be back on our next vacation. For the price, taste, and quality I cannot believe this place isn't packed every night. We reccomend to anyone in the area! read more

We had the sticks and bones combo with the house seasoning (1 pound crab legs, 1/2 pound gulf shore shrimp, 1/2 ear corn, and potatoes), I also added another 1/2 ear of corn. Love that we found this place during our stay in Destin! The service was exceptional! One of the owners explained how everything worked and was super helpful! He was actually the chef himself as well! The food was ready within 20 minutes! We were so excited to eat some fresh seafood instead of fried! We got a pound of the snow crab, 2 pounds of shrimp, a pound of red ruby and the potatoes plus corn. We got the mixture of both seasonings with butter on the side.
