Went tonight for dinner. They have a small area where they serve very nice upscale meals. The ambiance is very nice & it was our first time for dinner. Good news the food was very good. Now for the bad news. Our waitress "glasses" was not friendly at all. We had couple of questions on the menu & a special request on the sauce, server seemed a bit annoyed with a couple of simple questions on describing the dish. When the dish arrived we questioned the sauce, which was correct but she copped an attitude which was not what we were expecting. Never saw her again after she brought the food. Another person, a kind man named Kenny took our check & we discussed the issues we had. He was a great listener & asked us to give them another opportunity to make it right. His professionalism was what she needed. In today's climate good service is paramount to a pleasant experience, this needs to be brought to these servers attention or she maybe should be working elsewhere. read more

Amir is the best!! He is sooo knowledgeable and will walk with you to select the best spirits. He creates such an enjoyable experience. My husband and I enjoy researching beforehand and looking for our spirits before making any purchases. This is what we enjoy doing. Amir makes this so much more fun and exciting. This is rather small but you can absolutely probably find what you need. The store set up is kinda strange appears to be a front and back for with registers at both. However (I went in twice) I only ever saw someone at one register. The layout is kinda busy it's not well organized. They sell wine and liquor. There's a weird smell in the store not sure what it is and I can't describe it maybe musty. The staff (working the two times I came in) are pretty helpful. Love wine world! Every time we visit Destin, we make a trip to Chan's Wine World. I love their assortment of cheeses and their wine and beer selection is huge! I always see different beers we don't have at home. They have lots of accessories and give items too. Everyone is super friendly and always willing to help you find something. If you have time for a date night I recommend their wine bar just around corner from the deli/ cheese section. I had the white wine flight and it was yummy. We also tried the baked Brie (which is baked in a very thin pastry crust(not gluten free) so be careful if you need to avoid gluten. I was able to eat around it and asked for gluten free crackers in the side for $3. The soup was delicious, I believe it was chickpea soup it was broth based filled with veggies. Stopped today to purchase some cheeses for my Christmas Eve buffet. A women came from the back to ask if I needed help with something. I said I was looking for the Manchego and had had just spotted it. She said yeah, that's it and went back behind where there were other people working. No, can I help get some for you, is there any thing else you'd like-nothing. Needless to say, If they care so little about helping a good customer, I had no choice but to leave. They not only lost a good sale, they lost a good customer as I will never and stop there again to purchase cheese. read more

Bought tickets for the wine tasting event as we have enjoyed previous events at their other location. This time was a major disappointment to say the least. Outdoors at 85 degrees and humid with a tent packed full of people. The advertisement has said "wine and cheese" but there were two small plates by the "gatekeepers" that didn't look fresh. After checking inside the tented area we saw another table that was supposed to have food but only 2 empty plates remained. When I asked one of the employees he said that food might be bought out "at the top of the hour". Um....if you advertise it you should serve it. For the price of the tickets we expected better! read more

Went in on the afternoon of 2/24 to pick up a few things. Both of the men at the register were not wearing masks. When my my wife confronted them about this, one of them said he could go get one if it made us more comfortable. He stated that it was at the manager's discretion that employees wear masks. While our whole party had been vaccinated, we were all still wearing masks. The employee said something about already having antibodies because he apparently had been infected with COVID previously. He was pretty condescending about it. Everyone in our party is in the health care profession and we have been taking COVID seriously. Obviously this employee is some sort of public health expert... interestingly we had been to the grand blvd location earlier in the trip and there was 100% mask compliance (and worn properly). We have been going to wine world for years and this was the most disturbing interaction I've ever had there. Probably won't go back to this location. Beach liquors has a better attitude as does the grand blvd location. read more

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient. They also aren't pushy (which I really appreciate). HOLY SMOKES. The food is AMAZING!!!!! We had a groupon for lunch and Weren't sure if it would be any good, but as total foodies we were MORE than happy with it. We ordered the buttery Chardonnay "Superb" and a whole bottle of it was $9.99. We then had the Mac and Cheese with Andouille sausage made fresh with the chefs choice of cheeses for the day, and a Fig preserve, gruyere, and ham panini...we can't say enough how much we enjoyed it all and the ambience was very relaxed and approachable.... the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable...If that wasn't enough, the actual market section had a great selection of both wine and beer at very reasonable prices. We were delighted to discover this wonderful wine and more store! The wine selections were superb, and at great prices! We were in Destin for a month, so we wound up frequenting Wine World quite frequently! The restaurant was a complete surprise and delight. WOW! The food was phenomenal. The braised octopus with chickpeas was fantastic, as was all of our dishes. We ordered too many appetizers, as it turned out, because they all looked delicious, but then were a little full when it came to ordering entrees. We ordered one and shared it and will revisit during our stay here so we can explore the menu further. Also of note! The cheese shop. The woman gave us vast knowledge and samples of FABULOUS cheeses we never would have tried before and we happily bought many and enjoyed them at our vacation home over wine. If I could give a negative-5 stars I would. Horrible horrible experience, the customer service and sales representative is what has lead me to post a negative review. we are in town for a wedding. Schedule to have a bonfire on the beach. We were looking forward to having a fun beach wedding. We had placed an order 90 days out of a pony keg, and some small vodka bottles for the festivities. It was paid and supposedly all taken care of over the phone. No! When we arrive we mention we need to pickup a small KEG, the manager on the retail side of the store says "we don't sell cakes" I'm like excuse me i repeat myself and stay the we are picking up an order that was placed 90 days ago by phone. He said again interrupting me we don't sell CAKES! Then my wife explained what our situation was and our order. Obviously he didn't understand me because, The arrogance of the management said we don't have an order and that they are the only store in town. So it is our fault... I could understand that I bear some responsibility for not having my credit card recipes on me in order to help find my order. But it was done over the phone! The management then says he will call his general manager at another store which is 5 miles away.... what wait! There is another store! You just told me you were the only store with this name. Ok! Then the real arrogant attitude came from the manager. He insisted that the order was never placed and if he had enough time to order our vodka bottles he would have ordered them for us but we didn't give him enough time. Excuse me isn't 90 days enough time? He then proceeded to degrade us and insisted it was our fault. At that point we should have taken our business elsewhere but we didn't. We needed the pony keg, we were given a regular keg. No other options, nothing just horrible customer service with an arrogant arrogant attitude from the manager. A call to the GM was never returned. Unfortunately we are from out of town. So it doesn't matter that we will never be back. Hope I get my deposit back. read more

We have been visiting Chan's Wine World for over 15 years. We recently visited their cheese shop (about 11:30 am on a weekday) to stock up for upcoming parties. We were disappointed that the cheese gal seemed displeased when we asked to sample a few cheeses. She allowed us to however the portion sizes were so extremely small that at first I thought she was joking. I called the next morning to speak to the manager. Keith answered the phone and said he was the manager. I tried to express my disappointment with our experience in the cheese shop since we have spent quite a bit of money at Chan's over the years and were treated well when sampling cheeses in the past. Keith was very short with me, rude and ended up yelling that they are very busy over the holidays. We are used to Chan's treating their customers well, but this was uncalled for. Everyone is busy during the holidays. I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere. read more
