Then ordered different drinks. The server acknowledged that it was his first day. Turns out the he was also the bartender (in training). I mention this because it seem to take a VERY long time to get our actual drinks, maybe close to 20 minutes. Good thing we weren't in a hurry :( A nice place to help change up the routine, before or after dinner. Just be sure to give yourself enough time to relax with the actual drink. read more

Nifty little spot to grab a well-made drink, have a gathering, or pick up a nice bottle to go from the shop. As with a lot of places in the area, it's a little pricey, but their happy hour special is pretty solid--I recommend dropping in then. After reading some of the other Yelp reviews, I almost wondered if I was reviewing the same place. Neat is located on 30A in Alys Beach. We thought it was a great bar located halfway between The Citizen and George's. Many of the guests seated around us were enjoying drinks as they waited for their names to be called at these restaurants. In our case, we had just finished dinner at The Citizen and decided to have a cocktail for dessert. Of the six cocktails, we tried the Sabotage and Namaste Away. The Sabotage is described as a tropical/floral drink made with Tapatio Tequila, Lynchee Liqueur, Papaya and Pineapple. It packed some heat! The Namaste Away is called cool and refreshing, made with Bristow Gin, Lemon Grass, Aloe and Lemon. I could easily see someone order a second or third. I wish I could have packed up the Neat in my suitcase and brought it home to be my favorite neighborhood bar! read more

Horrible experience here. My husband and I stopped in for drinks while waiting on a table at a nearby restaurant. We sat at an outdoor table with our two teens. My daughter had a small paper cup of tap water that was given to her at the restaurant next door. While my husband and I were enjoying our drinks, a server came up and rudely demanded my daughter give her the small paper cup of water. We were all so stunned, and then the server demanded it again - it was a small paper cup of tap water! It was so jarring- there was no explanation or offer to bring her something else (we would have gladly paid for it). It was a bizarre, unprovoked confrontation. While waiting for our table at George's right across the street, my significant other and I decided to grave a drink at Neat. Their menu is not your traditional cocktail menu but I recommend stepping out of your comfort zone when ordering a drink from here! I ordered the orange cranberry sangria from the menu but was told they had actually switched it out to the mixed berry sangria so I said sure! It was a house made sangria that was so delicious and just the right amount of sweet and sour. I could probably go through pitchers of it, it was so good. Ugh. I feel so damn fancy just thinking about this place. It's my absolute favorite cocktail bar in the Santa Rosa Beach area and I long for the next time I can go again and revive my bougie alter-ego. This is our family's go-to spot for pre-dinner cocktails while waiting for our reservation at George's Restaurant next door. When you walk into this place, it's like walking into another city entirely. There are heaters outside in the winter months to keep you toasty. When you walk in, the lighting is dim and the decor is rustic chic. There is a bottle shop to the left, a bar straight ahead and a seating area in the room to the right. There is often live music and a light chatter from all the beautiful people clinking glasses inside. Our server during our last visit was wonderful. He went above and beyond to research drinks we remembered from our last visit which had since been retired from the menu. He was able to find the recipes and recreate the drinks for us--a gesture that I don't think many waitstaff would bother with doing. The appetizers were wonderful, as they always are. We were visiting 30A for Labor Day weekend from Nashville (like a couple thousand other Nashvillians, right?) and stopped at NEAT for an afternoon drink. We felt like we had been transported back to Nashville - the decor, the pricey cocktails, the hipsterness. While my husband's cocktail and my glass of wine were good, and the service was good, NEAT was just like being back at home in Nashville rather than at the beach. So- we just tried to support local businesses by going to Neat while we were here in Rosemary Beach. We sat down and were greeted cheerfully by a female server and given menus to order. A few minutes later another male server came over and told us there was 'some sort of medical emergency' with one of the servers and they would be suspending service. Yet- a minute later more drinks were brought out for other tables. We were given no further explanation. I even said it was my birthday and we only wanted two drinks to celebrate. He just looked at us blankly without caring. I had read so many nice things and reviews on this place and was excited to support them. This guy essentially ruined my birthday. This is such a unique bar experience! We enjoyed drinks and the Trio of Dips at Neat while we waited on a table at George's. They rotate drinks monthly, but I would recommend the Out of Office, Point Break (absolute favorite) and Green House Effect if you see them on the menu. We had such a great experience that we came back to enjoy a plate of truffles and drinks when we finished our dinner next door! Each of the 12+ truffles is different, so our group enjoyed dividing them and trying to guess the flavor. Our waiters on both visits were extremely patient with all of our questions on the drinks and even walked us through all of the truffle flavors after we finished our game of guessing the flavors. Our initial encounter with neat was amazing, a very pleasant young lady went far out of her way to obtain some limes for us and we found some delicious bitters made back in Colorado. We were excited to come back and try some of their cocktails later that night. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. Memorial day Sunday, after the evening fireworks we stopped by to try out their drinks with a group of 6. We showed up at 9:25, thinking we had enough time for one drink as they close at 10. Neat was fairly busy at this time with several groups scattered about and a number of people at the bar. We came in and sat down by the bar and were promptly told they were closed. We're very disappointed and taken back by the rudeness of the staff member. One of the other patrons immediately asked when they closed and the staff member even said 10 o'clock. Not sure why they closed their doors early, or why they would turn away business, especially on such a busy night in Alys Beach. I guess if you go, don't show up at evening time. read more
