This place is a classic. Right on the beach in Destin, you cannot beat the views. Keep in mind that this is essentially an outdoor dining experience. The whole place is open air, so you won't be escaping that panhandle humidity. The place is also super popular! So come early or be prepared to wait. The tables also tend to be very close. I can't say it's the most relaxing dining experience. But the food is good. I've always gotten the coconut shrimp and the servings are huge! The hush puppies are also so good. The slaw wasn't my favorite though. I also got a yummy virgin banana daiquiri. They also have lots of fun tropical adult beverages and they have a bar out front so if you do have to wait for a table, you do not have to wait for a drink! This place maybe used to be good but I think it's just an overpriced tourist trap now. The parking was a pain as others have mentioned because the parking lot is shared with the public beach. People were circling the lot over and over. I ordered a "beach whacker"'which I assume was their version of a bushwhacker. It was mostly icy with not a lot of flavor and I could not taste any alcohol. I got the seafood nacho appetizer as a meal and the fish and shrimp in it were mushy. The best thing about them was the queso. My daughter got the burger and said it was good. My husband got the blackened redfish and it was ok. The baked potato that came with it was plain. The location right on the ocean was beautiful, and the outdoor drink bar area was really nice and added to the beach atmosphere. We ordered two virgin piña coladas and a shirley temple for drinks. For dinner, we went with the jerk chicken plate, chicken Alfredo, and a side of fried shrimp. They drown their fish (both the garlic encrusted grouper and mahi mahi) in ridiculously over powering and thick sauces. We have eaten at the Panama City location last year when we were in FL and had great service on the patio (we had our dog with us). Everyone was very friendly and the service along with the food was enjoyable. However, this location would NOT seat us with our dog even though the website and marketing says the will seat you on the patio if you have a dog. What a disappointment. Went here on my last day of a work trip - slightly hungover - and this place saved me. Overall, it was absolutely delicious. My friend and I got two different versions of shrimp, the regular breaded and the coconut. Both were amazing but the coconut shrimp (I got the lunch version) was outstanding. The mango chutney that comes with it is to die for. The hushpuppies could be a little better and the other sides were good. We love coming here during the offseason because you can get a table right away and not having to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a table on a Friday in Summer. Our server was great. We asked questions about items on the menu and he was not afraid to give his honest opinion of what we should stay away from and what we should order. The crab claws were good and a must have when dining here. A friend of mine got the broiled scallops and I couldn't believe how many they put on the plate. We went there in mid February and we were able to sit on the porch facing the ocean and it was just perfect. If there would be any complaint, it would be that they don't have a full bar and they don't make real cocktails. I'm sure they could do a gin and tonic, but they didn't have anything for espresso martinis, and the fancier cocktails that were now accustomed to.
