Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you aren't eating here you are missing out on the best food along the Gulf Coast. My wife and I had brunch here today. We shared the calamari, she had the coconut shrimp and I had the Benedict Alla Commelfo. Backed with Bloody Marys. She ate the shrimp without saying anything. When we were finished I asked he "how was the shrimp?" She said "it was so good that I didn't want to say anything for fear that you would want some!" Everything was PERFECT. It was 10/10 and I wish I would have just gotten another order for my dinner! I got the prosciutto wrapped chicken and I am not sure what it was but something was just way to overpowering in season. I loved the mashed potatoes. They were definitely homemade and tasted incredible. I would give the meal a 7/10. My boyfriend got the lobster pasta and it was very good! 8/10! The atmosphere was nice. 5 stars because the porcini mushroom ravioli was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I went with a big party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I sampled a lot, including risotto, grouper, osso bucco, calamari (they served it with fried banana peppers as well, which is great! My southern friends were not used to that but loved it), coconut shrimp, and the lobster ravioli. Everything tasted great. The mushroom ravioli was so delicious. I can't stop thinking about it. The only thing that could be done to improve the dish would be to include more than 3 of those delicious micro grape tomatoes or whatever they were. Those paired with a bite of that ravioli was pure heaven. The atmosphere was also great; it felt very upscale, especially given that it's located in a strip mall. It was dim, they had those cute metal lights on the table, it was well decorated, no complaints in that department. If you were celebrating a birthday, they'd play a birthday song over the speakers and bring out a fudgy cake with a sparkler. They'd play Chapel of Love for the bachelorette parties, too. Love that! Now, for the negatives. I should take a star off for the service- but the food was too good warrant that. Service was incredibly slow - one of our appetizers arrived way later than the others, a beer took forever to get to the table, and the servers were simply not attentive when any of our group members needed them. My wife and me went to this restaurant for dinner expecting to have a nice evening and enjoy a good meal. From the start at the hostess desk we were treated unprofessional. Hostess seemed upset because we did not have reservation although the restaurant had plenty of seating, We got seated within 1 minute. Oscar was our waiter. He was not aware of any additional off menu selections, he had to go ask, there were none for this evening. He also seemed very limited in describing the menu options when we asked for specifics. He would only read the menu to us and had nothing to add. We ordered appetizers and a beet salad that were very satisfying. when it came to our entree things went south really fast. My wife ordered Salmon that was suppose to come w pasta with a creamy sherry dill sauce. When she tried the pasta sauce which was white and creamy she notice no sherry or dill. It tasted like Alfredo sauce. We called Oscar and asked if they made a mistake since we got the wrong pasta sauce. He went and brought us the menu and again read the description of the sauce. We told him this was Alfredo sauce and no evidence of sherry or dill. He then offered a different pasta sauce which the kitchen had told him to offer us. We stated that would be great and just sent back the pasta and kept our salmon portion. Within a couple minutes Lorena or Leonora approached our table and asked what complaint we had. We explained we were not complaining we just did not get what was described on the menu and would be happy with the other sauce that Oscar offered us. She proceeded to tell us that was NOT POSSIBLE. We had to accept what we were served and the kitchen would NOT make a different sauce that was on the menu for our salmon dish. What happen to making customer happy ???? I do not understand other reviews stating this is a great establishment when they treat people so unprofessional and lack in customer service. Who is writing these reviews??? We will never be return. My husband and I went for a date night while on vacation. Decor is very nice and the food was delicious! We started with the baked Brie appetizer which is something I normally wouldn't order but it was very good. Caesar salad is pretty standard with the addition of tomatoes, I liked the dressing. I ordered the filet -medium-, it was a tiny bit under but not enough to complain about. I still enjoyed it, my husband absolutely loved it. He ordered the mushroom ravioli and loved that as well. Only issue was service was a bit slow, the kitchen lost our ticket so we were delayed there, and it seems like they needed an additional bartender. Which reminds me, the lychee martini is yummy. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were seated promptly at 11:55 for a 12:00 reservation. The hostess, wait staff were very friendly. The ambience is refreshing and peaceful along with the music, which has a European feel and not too loud to interfere with conversation. They have tables and booths; we were seated in a booth. I imbibed the start of my meal with a mimosa; they have three flavors: orange, strawberry, and peach. I chose the lobster bisque which was served hot. It is filling so you may want to share this delicious bowl of bisque. This is my third time visiting this establishment and again I was delighted with my choices. I ordered the avocado toast with a side of crab meat. I did bring my own Chalula sauce to step it up a level. The restaurant only has Tabasco. My husband and I shared the French toast which is served with a chantille cream and strawberries. It is AMAZING; however I do bring my own maple syrup. I had made reservations for this dinner a week in advance. When we arrived we were the only ones in the whole place, which worried me a little bit as this was for our anniversary and my birthday. It's not like it was early, as it was 6pm but it was a Sunday and "off season" for Destin as a whole. However, Dinner ended up being amazing! I started with the espresso martini. Just perfect! For an app we ordered the bruschetta. I knew before I went what I wanted so I ordered the seafood pasta with squid noodles. I had never had squid noodles but they were good! My husband ordered the salmon pasta which also looked perfect and he said it was great. Before dinner had started our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything. We did tell her my birthday! When desert time came I did say I didn't want anything but she ended up bringing out a complimentary brownie and fruit. They played the happy birthday song over the speakers which I felt was perfect because usually I get embarrassed when everyone gathers around us and sings to me. It was nice that it was just her, she put the dessert down, lit the candle and I blew it out without people singing and clapping and making a scene. I truly wish this review was about a great experience, but unfortunately, our recent visit to Commelfo was anything but. A group of African American influencers and I made a reservation, only to arrive and be told that the restaurant *doesn't take reservations*. We were surprised but agreed to wait the 45 minutes. Once seated, we ordered drinks and began recording content, sharing our experience in real-time--some of which the restaurant themselves reposted to their social media. However, things quickly went downhill. We waited over **two hours** and never received our food. Other tables that were seated *after* us--including a large party of 15+--received both their appetizers and full meals while we continued to wait. When we inquired multiple times, we were told repeatedly that our food would be ready in "10 minutes." It never came. The communication was poor and frustrating. One staff member claimed to be the manager, then denied it. When I asked for the owner's information, I was met with resistance and sarcasm--only receiving a business card after unnecessary back-and-forth. To be clear: only two of us ordered steak, yet we were told our wait was due to "steak taking longer." Meanwhile, others with steak were being served well ahead of us. Ultimately, we left--hungry and disappointed. We only paid for our drinks (which we shouldn't have had to), and left to find food elsewhere. A follow-up voicemail from the founder of our influencer agency was ignored. To make matters worse, several of us were *blocked* by the restaurant after leaving honest reviews. It's hard not to notice that we were the only African Americans in the restaurant that night--and also the only ones whose meals never arrived. As content creators who came to support local businesses, this was a disheartening and unprofessional experience. We gave Commelfo the benefit of the doubt at every step, but they failed us completely. We hope this review helps others make informed decisions before dining here. read more

The staff here are severely lacking. Downright rude, not very good at their jobs, and not accommodating at all. Walked in with a party of 11 with a reservation and a record of a conversation with the manager about said reservation. The hosts claimed they didn't have our reservation and they couldn't accommodate us, while the restaurant was 30% full - they had plenty of space for us. They stormed away and put some tables together without really telling us what they were doing. Then came and said to us "you are really lucky to be here." LOL! I couldn't believe this whole interaction. Finally seated, our server, Nellie, was nice enough but asked us how we'd like to do our checks. We said separate, and she said "that's not possible. I'll do checks of 2 people." Thereby forcing us to pair up with the person next to us for our checks..? Just really odd and screams lazy to me. The last service thing I will note is that nobody came around to clear empty plates or glasses. We had a table full of empty drink glasses and plates which is just sloppy. The saving grace is the food, truly this place does have good food which is why I'm sure they are still in business. The grouper and lobster ravioli in particular were great. Good wines and cocktails too. From the outside the decor looks a little sketch but it's pretty nice on the inside, cute chairs and decor. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Our group of nine arrived at this restaurant at 11:28 AM-we waited until 1:30 PM and were never served any food. Not even an appetizer. Just drinks... and a whole lot of avoidance. During which time several other parties including a party of 17, and a party of six sat near us and were severed. We repeatedly asked to speak with a manager, but the staff dodged the request for over an hour. When we finally reached the owner by phone, he admitted he was out of town and blamed the situation on being short-staffed - even saying, "This happens every time I go out of town." That's not an explanation. That's a pattern of failure. If a business cannot function without its owner physically present, it has no business being open. Instead of offering a real apology or resolution, the owner seemed more interested in making excuses than making things right. To say this was a disappointing experience is an understatement. It was disorganized, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. If you value your time or your appetite, go somewhere else. read more

Everything was lovely. Dinner entree range is $30 - $55'ish. The coconut shrimp and calamari apps - huge shrimp, were well prepared with flavorful sauces. I had the gnocchi with chicken, spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. The sauce is what makes this dish special. The lobster ravioli and salmon and fettuccine were reportedly delicious as well. I love oversized wine glasses - my Pinot glass did not disappoint! The staff was professional and prompt. The restaurant is beautifully dressed. This place is beautiful. I love the interior of this restaurant, it's very exotic and makes you feel like an absolute baller. A great place to impress a lady friend! The service here was unfortunately lackluster. Our server was very busy and went missing at times. We had came after the beach, so we were very thirsty and water refills were hard to come by. The food was okay. I had the ribeye, which was a little overcooked. The quality of meat wasn't there for me, but I will say this is not advertised as a prime steakhouse. But, the cost was in that ballpark, which is why I feel the need to comment on it. The fried ravioli appetizer was okay. We didn't end up finishing it because we wanted to save room for our entrees. The seafood pasta was also okay. But, it did come with a lot of seafood! We did go in for an early dinner and I had the feeling this was an off day for the restaurant. I do plan to give them another chance and will update once I do. If you're in the area and you want to grab a drink, this would be a great setting to hang out at the bar. I have a few things to say. Are you listening ? Go and eat here. If you are here for a few days for the beach and "seafood?" Just forget it. There is no restaurant in any proximity that will serve you a piece of fish with skin on. Forget the dam seafood. All same as anywhere else. Often with poor and undesirable ambience, plastic cups and patio benches claiming ocean side somehow makes fish jump unto a plate. DO NOT wales TALES, or Joe Pompanoses. I beg you to keep your hard earned dollars for someone that gives a dam!!! Now this place does it right. All of the dishes are thoughtful, chef inspired, creative. The rack of lamb was on point. So on point I had to ask for a chefs knife to borrow a piece. Well I stole it because I can't pay it back. The unique details such as seasoned wedge of lemon on the salmon pasta dish and a bit of red caviar dollop just puts it over the top. Leave the dam eatable flower alone. Let it rest. Let it freaking die forever. Leave it in the 80's. Save some food cost for some pickled or fermented plate decoration. I loved the salad!!! Complex with pine nuts, goat cheese, perfect and none runny dressing and beats. Salads are expensive to make. Food cost is small and there is a reasonable priced offering. I appreciated some fried onion on the tuna tar-tar, but not so much the black tobiko you add for the crunch. They had the Aperole spritzes for the ladies and proper poor on the vodka martinis. I am coming back for that salad and want to try the grouper. Please get the properly pan seared fish in the menu for once !!!! Scale it and sear it with the skin on. Its curb appeal hides what's inside: a nicely appointed establishment, an appropriately attentive and professional staff, with a strong menu. We visited 30a for a girls foodie trip and was super happy to be able to visit. We set a reservation for 11:15, upon arrival we were told that we had to wait for 45 minutes longer. After sitting down we waited 1.5 hours for our food. We were understanding of the delay until we saw that a party of 18 and 5 other tables received their drinks, appetizers and complete meals. After asking if there what was going on we were told 10 more minutes .... And then 30 minutes later we still hadn't received anything. After waiting 2 hours, we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. If you don't get anything from this post, these people do not care. Being someone that loves to patronize small and locally owned businesses it was very disheartening to see that they were completely RACIST. Do not support them. read more

They packed so many tables into the dining area that there was no room to move, and servers trying to walk between the tables brushed up against patrons every time they passed by. I assume that since the servers knew they were getting an automatic 20% tip (since we were a party of six), that's why our service was extremely poor. Reading other comments about the horrible service others have experienced seems to indicate service is often an issue at this establishment. I should have read more reviews before choosing this place. I chose this restaurant for our girl's weekend, since I liked the menu and the photos made it seem like the place had a nice ambiance. The specialty drinks weren't bad, but are overpriced for the area. The food was decent, but did not arrive at the table warm - which was truly disappointing, and inexcusable. We waited more than 20 minutes for anyone to approach our table to take our drink order. We had to ask for water and to order more drinks - we were constantly looking for our server. I had hoped for a stellar special dining experience, which we drove more than 30 minutes to get to (one way) and was really disappointed with the experience. The vibe is modern and young; EDM music was played in the background. This place was great for a girls night out or a birthday celebration. The birthday song that was played during our birthday celebration was a bit awkward and dated; however, our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. Starters- Beet Salad was light and sweet, served with cheese. Calamari was crispy and Carpaccio was OK. All of our entrees were delicious. I had the Grouper and it was very flavorful. Presentation was lovely, but the food was just flavorless and not a memory making experience. We tried the charcuterie board which was not special in any way...average at best and $35. I've had a better quality cheese and meat assortment from Publix :/. The coconut shrimp (best dish of the night) was pretty good, but hard to screw up fried shrimp, and lastly the seared tuna salad - this was a huge let down with very little substance and flavorless tuna.
