Found this little gem tucked away inside The Inn at Crystal Beach. The food here was very tasty. Tonight, we were a party of four. We had the stuffed flounder with crab, the skirt steak, And the chicken Marcella. Each plate was cooked with the perfect seasonings that accented and brought out the flavors of each dish. You won't be disappointed if you came for lunch or dinner. Don't worry about having to be all dressed up, as this restaurant is very casual. It looks nice inside, but the owner, Staci says, "come as you are; casual attire is fine." Met the owner today, Stacey. This place is now called Staci's on the Beach. This was my family's first time visiting. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, the view is spectacular, and our service was good. Most dinners on the menu are around $40 and kids meals are $15, and I would say this is a fair price. I got the stuffed flounder and my wife got the salmon and we were impressed. I would say they did take advantage of us with pricing on two things we ordered. I ordered a side of plain mac and cheese and was charged $15 for it. And my daughter got a glass of milk and was charged $5 for that drink. That price seemed tacky and out of touch. Overall would still recommend this restaurant. read more

We found this place last year and loved it! The ambiance is amazing beginning with the beautiful staircase going down to the restaurant and the beach/water view, especially around sunset! I would honestly say the vibe here is really cool. My husband and I chose this spot because it was our last night in Destin and we wanted to get a nice fine dining experience in. It is attached to a very nice hotel/condos so you will kind of notice that when getting there. The restaurant itself is in the back facing the ocean. Overall from drinks to dessert the food/service was very good. The ceviche presentation was a bit peculiar but it tasted great. The shrimp and grits were excellent. My husband mentioned a little too much salt but honestly I said he was being picky which he always does. I personally found them delightful. They are a little spicy too which made them that much better. For dessert we had a nice lemon cake type deal. Once again the taste was superb. They have several fine dining options in the Destin area and I would argue this is one of them. Also sorry for leaving out the picture of the shrimp and grits. Most visitors are unaware of the design flaw lurking at the restaurant entrance. Down the main stairs, at the bottom, look above the bar. Air conditioning condensation droplets are all over the ceiling. Each of the air conditioning vents are covered in mold of all species. It's quite a hazard for all indoor diners and employees of the restaurant. And, from your left to your right, all along the bar and restaurant ceiling, it's there. No health authority, or city building inspector should have allowed this flaw. You cannot locate an ingress/egress to the patio so close to the air conditioning ductwork. Humidity levels outside are off the chart. It's a very poor and hazardous design for sure. Coughing, itching eyes, difficulty breathing, headache..? This is why. We chose the patio dining once this was spotted. Still recovering from the exposure, the view was nice, though mostly obscured by the unattended landscaping. A shame. The restaurant should be upstairs, with a terrace. The patio entrance relocated. Soleil French Dip was edible, but seemed prepackaged meat product reheated. Quesadillas were tastier, Pinot Grigio was delicious, and service from Iam very friendly. read more

We had a group of 10 which I understand can be difficult coming from a server. The table next to us told us it took them over three hours to get food for a table of 5. Our food came out quicker than that, but the bacon burgers came with about three bacon bits on them a piece. None of the burgers were cooked to the correct temperature and they took 20 minutes to bring our condiments. We also had to ask 5 times for a single shirley temple. Do not recommend. Came here mid-July and wanted to have dinner on the beach to watch the sunset. We have tried other beachfront restaurants in Destin and have always been disappointed, so our expectations for Soleil were low even with good reviews. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. Our server, Nico, provided some of the best customer service and gave great recommendations on which dishes to order. We had Crab cakes for appetizer and the Grouper and Seared Scallops for the main dish. Crab cake was very thick, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The sautéed grouper was slightly under seasoned and under seared, but the buerre blanc sauce really saved the dish. Seared scallops were seared perfectly which is rare for many restaurants in Destin to execute for some reason. Sitting outdoors on their patio gave us perfect views of the ocean and sunset. The pictures are not the vibe. Imagine pulling into what feels like an abandoned hotel. There's some random people kind of just setting around. You walk past a hotel GYM then you see the Soleil hostess stand but it's unattended. You figure out to walk don't stairs to a horribly dull quite atmosphere. There are very many open tables the bar is empty, its 6:30 pm on a FRIDAY night. The marketing team deserves a RAISE because they sure did trick us. The server was very kind, but in the same breath unprofessional. The food was no good, the shrimp ala vodka was watery and the scallops were chewy, It was a poor experience. Most incredible food, ever. My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon dining at this restaurant. He got a dry aged steak that was aged 125 days. It was incredible! The outside seating area is very pretty and the staff were friendly. But other than that there are multiple issues. 1. The gym is directly above and shares an open wall with the restaurant which is odd. 2. Directly below it, is an AC vent that is very moldy, this is hazardous for indoor customers and staff, and literally drops water condensation around the bar. 3. Enjoyed our brunch. They've only been open a week, so a few things to work out. The shrimp and grits were surprisingly light, which was perfect for brunch. The Eggs Benedict wasn't great--overcooked poached eggs, and the ham is minced (weird) and VERY smokey, which wasn't enjoyable. The entrees aren't served with sides and there are no sides to order additionally, so that was strange. But the candied bacon was great, as were the drinks, and Brandon is a very friendly waiter. I figured a scenic drive on the LSV would be fun, so we gave it a shot. The French onion soup was OK. We ordered the filets and they came out mooing. Careful if ordering medium rare. My wife's burger was a cluster - messy and FULL of QUAD fried, fries probably fried in the same oil that fries all things fried at this place. Pretty good offerings of wine by the glass. We are locals and ate at Soleil shortly after it opened. The food was fantastic. We brought friends from out of town there last night, and we could not have been more disappointed. Although the fish was cooked well enough, the risotto was gummy and luke-warm. All three who ordered it left it on the plate. The green beans were far too garlicky, and the bread was brought to the table three quarters of the way through the meal and was slightly burnt. For the prices charged, you can get higher quality meals in many places in Destin. We so wanted this restaurant to be something special because the setting is spectacular. Did the original chef leave? I noticed he is no longer featured on the website. If so, that may explain the change in the quality of the food. read more

I think this restaurant aspires to be more than it actually delivers. The menu and the prices suggest it is fine dining - and the space has housed fine dining restaurants in the past. But the service is very ordinary - not polished enough for fine dining. Further (and this has been an issue with many restaurants in this space) having guests of the condo building where the restaurant is located use the same entrance for getting to and from the beach that is used for the restaurant is a BIG ambience issue. There's only so much they can do with the layout of the building - but they should use tables far from the entrance first to minimize the number of bathing suit clad people with boogie boards coming past the diners. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand, though a waiter came up quickly to let us know he'd let the hostess know we were there. He did, which was appreciated. But then we observed the hostess finishing up what she was doing outside setting a table rather than coming in to seat us. Our server was friendly and trying the best she could. But she was not familiar with basic cocktails, and confessed not knowing what they were rather than hoping the bartender could handle it (he could). She was also there to take orders and make sure food was delivered and was not equipped to make recommendations. Finally, the food -- the shrimp in the shrimp risotto were very well cooked, though the risotto was a bit bland. The crab cake used so much seasoning that the dry powder of the seasoning took away from the sweetness of the crab. I would NOT recommend the red snapper, at all. It was so overcooked I had to use a knife to cut it into bites. The seared the natural flavor right out of that fish! Its time for the owners of this space to admit that you can't mix fine dining and a beach walkway. Stop trying to recapture the magic Tim Creehan established years ago and make it a casual family restaurant. Serve fish sandwiches on the freshest rolls, create great sauces, and fry up the best hush puppies anyone has ever eaten. Being able to have a great family meal while you can let the kids run around on the beach would be fantastic. Pretending to be what they're not is not working. read more

Most nicer Atlanta restaurants provide half-price bottle of wine or complimentary dessert. Food was avg or less than. Salad (arugula) was scary-looking but tasted ok. Entree was shrimp malfade which tasted ok but too salty maybe due to pecorino broth and extra pancetta or similar. Also, it had at least 1/4-1//2 cup of panko or other breadcrumbs which was unusual for that type of pasta dish. Really ruined it. All said, I would not go back; huge disappointment. read more

We arrived and couldn't find the hostess; she was setting the table for a large party. We we're shown to our table overlooking the beach. Taylor took our drink order...nothing fancy, a beer and sparkling water. My wife ordered the DOUBLE cheeseburger without the bun. I ordered the French Dip. The burger arrived with a single patty and a slice of cheese. No veggies at all. When asked, Taylor reported that the kitchen was out of 4 ounce patties and served a single 8 ounce patty instead. She could have said something beforehand, I feel. The veggies came. The food was cooked properly; my wife likes her meat well-done. Every thing tasted great. All-in-all, the experience was okay. The menu prices are rather dear, but the company has to pay for the views somehow, right? I'm not sure we'd return. read more
