I had purchased a Groupon for Bric and Brac and decided to use it for my birthday last night. I went w a couple of girlfriend. I happen to love lighting fixtures and this place had plenty to look at. The waitress Heather I believe, was fabulous, knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered cocktails and dinner. We all loved our entrees. I ordered their version of chicken picata, and it was delicious. 2 large chicken cutlets, nice and crispy, which is different than Italian picata, but very good. Delicious mashed potatoes and mixed veggies were the accompaniments. One of my friends had a side salad and ceviche, which she said was very good, and my other friend had the Cajun Pasta, which she also said was very good. There was a great band playing and lots of people dancing the night away. We will definitely be back. read more

This is the best food in Destin, hands down! Crab cakes not on the menu but they do make them. My son Said these were the best he ever tasted. Best food i ate all week, service and ambience great. They do have some club type music but it's not overwhelming. It is priced about even with most Destin restaurants and like most also charge for using card vs cash. read more

Started off with the cheese curds- average little nuggets of fried cheese, honestly nothing to write home about. The claim to fame here is the crab cakes and it is well earned. I ordered the crab cake appetizer (one crab cake, grilled veggies, and a roll), a perfect small plate entree with the most delicious crab cake I have ever had. Crispy exterior with a soft, delicate melt in your mouth crab. Seriously, get the crab cakes if you dine here. Chicken wings were average and the key lime pie was the same, definitely a gritty texture due to the sugar and the crust was thick and difficult to cut with a spoon. Bric a Brac is always a go to when we are in town each summer. The house specialty chicken dish is my favorite! My husband and I split the meal and it was plenty of food. The chicken comes with a caper sauce, mashed potatoes, and grilled veggies. We also ordered a crab cake to split. It is one of their specialties as well. We had the ceviche as an appetizer and it was delicious. Our son ordered the manicotti, but he was not a fan. It had too much cheese for his liking. Have been to Bric a Brac a few times in the past. All during the summer months when it is packed and a live band playing. Prices then were reasonable given the entertainment. Down here this week (Oct) and decided to have dinner here. No band and not crowded at all. Left feeling like we had gotten taken. I know we are under inflationary times, but this is ridiculous. $6.50 for a 12 oz Yuengling draft $9.00 for a 4-5 oz glass of wine that you pay $8.00/bottle for at the grocery store...literally. This was bad enough, but..... $36 for two silver dollar sized crab cakes, mashed potatoes and some veggies???? The crab cakes weren't "the best in town" I can assure you. $36 for a 5-6 oz piece of blackened Grouper with a deep fried "something" patty and veggies??? (at least I hope it was grouper) It tasted fine, but it was EASILY double what it should have reasonably been priced. So disappointed. Won't be back, nor will I continue to recommend. To be fair, the server was nice and I tipped him $26.83. I always tip well if the service is good. The prices are not their fault. read more

Also saw on their menu that they have an award winning crab cake. It was very good and I have high standards with growing up near Maryland and their crab cakes. It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was good. We sat at the bar to watch basketball final four and had great service and yummy drinks! They make them strong, which is great. Awesome sauce! So freaking good!!! Man, oh, man! We made reservations over Facebook messenger. They took a while to respond to our messages but they eventually did. We reserved a table for 12 at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday. We were seated quickly and our waitress, Annie was great! I ordered the chicken and others in my party orders other meals. Everything was excellent! So good! Everyone at the table raved about the food. I've been in Destin for almost a week and this was the best meal so far! Best shrimp and grits and best funky atmosphere! Love the upstairs night club it's like you're in the 80s

This place is rightfully named. It's a give and a take. It's more like a bar than an actual restaurant (a dive bar to boot!) There's a stage which is lined with a chain of red lights lining the stage. The restaurant has hand gaudy hand painted picnic tables to sit at. Since I had a Groupon, we decided to stay for dinner. My partner had a dinner salad. It was nothing as described on the menu which stated all kinds of added ingredients. Nope!; it came with dried up lettuce out of a bagged mix with a few capers thrown on top. I had the market fish. It came grilled (choice of grilled or fried). Served on a cheesy grits cake which was good and spinach. They even served me a (yes 1) dinner roll -- with no butter or bread plate or spread -- although it was tasty. I requested an extra for my partner's dry salad. I will admit that the fish was very fresh and seasoned well... but the ambiance is just not my type of dining establishment; rather, in my opinion, a place to catch a cocktail or hear a local musician -- which pardon my rambling-- my other half to order a hard lemonade that was amazing. Come for the fish, if you don't mind the funky bar ambience. Come for the drinks and who knows? The dancing here, music and night life might be better than I can imagine. read more

My family and I traveled to Destin from Austin Texas for a nice vacation and made sure to check Yelp to see what restaurants were available. We were super pleased to find many great restaurants and discovered Bric a Brac and thought that it would be fun to give them a try. When we walked in the decor was very fun and unique and there was a live singer playing music. The music was quite good and it was very fun! We were seated near the bar area which was actually a good location to watch the entertainment. The service was awesome! Our waitress recommended the Bric a Brac chicken which was breaded and cooked perfectly. It was so delicious. My wife has a gluten allergy and the restaurant had many options for her which was refreshing! My wife ordered a salad and added grilled chicken which she enjoyed very much! The temperature of the food was great and they had a great selection of bar items in which I ordered a Tito's Martini and it was made perfectly. We were very pleased with Bric a Brac and loved the fact that they offer entertainment as well as a wonderful dinner! read more

This bar and restaurant was eclectic on the inside with many chandeliers, vinyl albums, print art, and decor from yesteryear. We went for the live music, which was mediocre, but the food was outstanding. Superior crabcakes, very yummy mashed potatoes, and excellent grilled fish. I especially loved their skinny margaritas and their bread pudding. Dessert was the largest I had ever seen. There was an entire ice cream sized dip of whipped cream and between three and four large dips of vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzled all over. Two people were unable to eat the whole thing. We were given this place as a recommendation and quickly decided it's on the "never again" list. When we walked in, one of our party asked for a table already set up for a party our size. Despite being relatively empty, he told us that server was busy (only one other table in that section) and had us wait to pull two table together. That should have been the first sign. This place claimed to have the best crab cakes in Destin. However they only offer an individual appetizer of them, just 1 crab cake at a time. So we had to order 6 appetizers for our crew to each get a crab cake. And the appetizer crab cake came with a side of veggies and bread. Strange. The crab cake was mediocre at best. It had more breading than crab, the crab was fine, and the flavor was all in the lemon sauce on the top. I liked the squash veggies more than the crab cake ‍ We continued to persevere and give the entrees a go. Bad choice. We should have left. 4/6 of us ordered the blackened grouper with grit cake and veggies. The blackened grouper was supposed to have a lemon beurre blanc sauce. What came out on the top of my fish was straight up meat gravy. It was brown and gross and ruined the fish. The grit cake was like dry cornbread inside and burnt breading on the outside. Again the best part was the squash and bread. 1/6 of us ordered the chowder and the smoked tuna dip. The chowder was bland. The tuna dip tasted liked pouch/canned tuna salad that someone had added way too much liquid smoke to in order to call it smoked tuna. It was inedible. 1/6 was a kid, who ordered chicken tenders, who complained that weren't even as good as the frozen dinosaur nuggets. I have no idea how this place has that many stars or ever got rated best crab cake in Destin. But we will not be back. read more

Don't be fooled by the exterior of the restaurant, Bric a Brac is a great place for a family dinner. The decorations throughout the restaurant create a great relaxed atmosphere. There is live music 6pm -9pm and you can't help but to have fun. The food and service are great. It gets busy every night, but the staff is polite and attentive. I tried the crab cakes, wings and the Pastalay. Everything was excellent. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are large. I look forward to returning for dinner again. read more

We came here on our honeymoon seven years ago and found this gem, thankfully it's just as good as it was then. I got the crab cake dinner and it came with two good size crab cakes, veggies and mashed potatoes and my husband got the Pastalaya that is in a delicious Cajun sauce with chicken, peppers and tomatoes. Beware! Bring cash! I went to Bric a Brac for dinner. We had a reservation for a party of six which included myself, my husband and four children. The decor and ambience was great with live music. However, I was disturbed when the waitress presented the bill, where there was a difference of $12 between a credit card payment and cash payment. This was not mentioned on the restaurant's website or the restaurant's menu. The manager stated this is something that the restaurant was recently doing. He showed us a nondescript sign on the back of the entrance door, where you would only see it when upon exiting the restaurant. The sign didn't mention the 4% surcharge for credit card payment. I was told that I could use the ATM machine to make a cash payment. However, given it wasn't in my banking network, I would also be charged additional fees. So basically, at the time of payment, I would be charged additional fees for either a credit card or cash payment. Definitely walked away with a sour taste in my mouth. Can't believe I didn't have a opportunity to decide whether I could get cash on the way to the restaurant or better yet choose one that doesn't have a 4% credit card surcharge. It's supposed to be a family dinner, not a "gotcha" moment. read more
