McGuire's Irish Pub is absolutely worth visiting if you're in Destin! Don't let the wait scare you away--the restaurant is enormous, and they move people through surprisingly well. The atmosphere is unlike anything else, with dollar bills covering the walls and ceilings everywhere you look. It's a fun experience before you even sit down. The service was outstanding, and the food was exactly what you'd hope for from a great Irish pub. The 1¢ Senate Bean Soup is a must-try, and the fish and chips were a huge hit at our table. We also tried the steaks, which were good, but I'd recommend going in expecting great Irish pub food rather than steakhouse-quality steaks. One last tip... don't let the bathrooms catch you off guard. If you know, you know. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Destin!

Overall, our experience was pretty disappointing. We waited almost an hour and a half just to get inside the restaurant. Once we were finally called, we expected to be seated right away, but ended up waiting another 10 minutes before getting to our table. After that, it took about another 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. The complimentary bread was a nice touch, but once we finished it, our plates sat on the table for quite a while. With a party of five, the table became crowded quickly, and it would have been nice if dirty dishes had been cleared more promptly. For appetizers, we ordered the Reuben egg rolls and the pretzel. The Reuben egg rolls were the highlight of the meal an easy 5/5. They were flavorful and definitely worth ordering. Unfortunately, the pretzel was underwhelming. For our entrées, we ordered the tomahawk steak (which was over $100), a ribeye, and a steak salad. The tomahawk was the biggest disappointment of the night. For the price and all the hype surrounding their steaks, it was underseasoned and lacked flavor. The ribeye and steak salad were also bland and needed much more seasoning. Considering the restaurant is known for its steaks, we expected a much better experience. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend sticking with the classic pub food instead of the steaks. Based on our experience, we probably wouldn't return.

Frozen Isiah coffee was outstanding. Perfect break on a hot day. We got the Kevin in a Kaiser roll. This sandwich was huge! And it was delicious. Loved the potato salad as well. We also go a burger. Great traditional burger. Both sandwiches were so big we ate the other 1/2s for dinner a few night later. Parking is free but a challenge.

You should definitely order a pretzel here to go with the pizza you order next door. The beer cheese is the best. You definitely only need 1 pretzel per 6 people. The pretzel is huge and comes in a pizza box. You will not regret the mega pretzel and may need help carrying it to your car lol.

Fast service and super friendly ! The atmosphere was casual and unique , I loved the whole Irish spin on the place ! The food was so fresh , come with an appetite! I couldn't eat it all, that hamburger was huge I could barely open my mouth wide enough A bit pricey but worth it!

On vacation and we came in to town at the onset of Tropical Storm Bertha. We ordered appetizers of calamari and the shrimp cocktail. Both were excellent especially the shrimp cocktail and the house made cocktail sauce. One of the best we have experienced. Entrees were the salmon and the mahi mahi. The salmon was ok slightly over cooked but edible. The mahi was way over done. We requested a new piece of fish and they sent out another over cooked piece of Mahi Mahi. Unfortunately this put a damper on the overall experience. Guess we will stick to typical bar faire when giving this place another try. The ambiance was great with dollar bills lining the ceiling, railings and support beams throughout the restaurant. Service was ok and got the job done although our server disappeared for extended periods of time.

We came here on our last morning before headed back home, great choice. We got seated right away and this place is huge. One dollar bills were hanging from everywhere. We all decided to do the Belgian waffle breakfast which came with bacon, fresh fruit and yogurt. We also had beignets for the table which was included and our breakfast also included Irish coffee frozen or hot. The food came out quick, the fresh fruit by the way is mixed inside the yogurt. The waffle also came with a side of strawberry compote. The Irish whisky frozen coffee was big and was delicious. Pretty big breakfast for just $11.99. Our server was great too. We got to write on our $1 bill and staple it anywhere it fit. They had live music playing inside as well. I see why this place stays busy. I will be back next time I'm in the area, very great brunch.

Dined here again Summer '26 and had a great meal. The portions are huge and one meal can be split easily, although instead we just had a ton of to-go boxes we took out. The service was great as well. FYI there are better bathrooms in the attached gift shop that can accommodate a wheelchair or parents needing to change a diaper. *No military discount*

I enjoyed my lunch at McGuire's. Our server was most pleasant and helpful. I had the Reuben and it was delicious!! They give a good amount of corn beef. It came with potato salad and chips too. The chips taste like they're homemade. My friends went for dinner at McGuire's and commented about how great the steaks were. I guess I need to go back:)

The reputation is accurate. If you have less than a 5 star meal it's actually surprising. Accordingly, you'll wait a while to get in and it will be extremely busy. Once you get seated all of the food is spectacular. The Irish Potato Skins are out of this world with fresh bacon and plenty of cheese. The only issue I had with the fish and shrimp was that it wasn't very hot. The senate bean soup is well worth the 18 cents. As far as ambiance, just saying you've been there is worth the trip!

As always, good food and service. Per the usual, I had the beef and mushroom pie. Tender beef and mushrooms in a rich wine gravy topped with phyllo. My friend had the Rueben. That thing was huge. She could barely open her mouth that wide. We both had leftovers.

We probably waited 20/25 minutes. But for those that drink, there were two bars that you could get a drink from outside. Our server, Selena was awesome. There were six of us and we tried a bunch of different things. Their bean soup was off the chart. The fish and chips were delicious nicely breaded it wasn't heavy. The salmon was a little dry for my liking and the steak just had an interesting flavor. The decor is interesting because they have I think they said $1,000,000 $1 bills hanging from the restaurant. Overall, I would recommend it.

Boyfriend took me here for the first time. It's been one of his favorite family traditions. I loved the atmosphere and service. Our server was amazing and made sure to double check everything before it was brought out due to my gluten allergy. Loved the food, which came out piping hot and cooked to perfection. We had chicken wings, tomahawk steak and root beer.

Ask the Community - McGuire's Irish Pub

    Do they have pool?

    No they do not.

Are there gluten free options for a celiac?

As with all restaurants, they are hard to make 100% completely gluten-free but yes there are gluten-free options. I suggest the Mollys cut with some form of vegetable. It will be what they have at the time that seasonal. It comes with onion rings…

    Do they do takeout?

    Yes.

    Is there a Join waitlist?

In Pensacola you can use yelp to gone on the waitlist. Destin does not have that option, it first come, first served.

Is the actual bar/pub part 18+?

You can dine with all ages

Do they still serve the Giant Nachos?

Nachos have not been on the menu for 2 years and they currently have no plans to bring them back, sorry

    How is the Sunday Brunch?

Very good plus there's live music!

    Do they take reservations?

    No they do not

Where do I find the wait list and how long?

You have to go in person. You can't call and get put on a waitlist. They will tell you the wait when you arrive and text you when your table is ready

    Is there any gluten-free options?

Yes, they actually have a gluten free menu. Ask your server and they'll be happy to get it for you. Enjoy.

    How's the wait tonight?

    Not sure

    How's the wait tonight?

    At least 2 hours

    Do they make reservations here?

They do not but when you get there, there are two lines. One to speak with a hostess and get on the list, and the other is a Kiosk. My daughter waiting in line at the Kiosk and my Wife went to the regular line. The regular line was quoted 1.5 hrs…

Does destin location have a wait list?

We visited recently and hoped to check in and join the wait list online, but it seemed to be available only for the Pensacola location. We ended up just going early the next evening.

Do they do anything for birthdays?

Yes, just tell your server you have a birthday at your table. They will sing and give you a brownie with ice cream on top. Happy Birthday!

Can you order sushi at the main McGuire's restaurant alongside its menu?

    Yes you can

What's the best time for a party of 2 on a Saturday night?

We always eat early 4-5 and have never had to wait.

Is their a wait now? It won't let me join the waitlist

    No wait right now

Is there a wait time now?

At this present time, no. Come five or six o'clock and you'll have a line.

Went for Sunday brunch and want to write a good review for one of the bartenders who was amazing! She was the only female and had the coolest pair of glasses! Anyone know her name?

The live music was also a nice bonus and added to the atmosphere. The only downside was the service. We waited quite a while before our server came by to greet us, bring menus, and take our drink and food orders. It felt like our table had been overlooked, which was disappointing, especially for a party of six. That said, I don't think one server represents the entire restaurant. The kitchen did a great job, the food was worth the visit, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Would we come back? Absolutely. With so many great restaurants in the harbor area, we'd probably explore a few others first, but AJ's is still a solid choice for seafood, oysters, and waterfront dining.

It is also on top of a bunch of shops along the boardwalk that you can walk down to and explore and go shopping, which was fun before while you were waiting for a table or after you finish your meal. The grilled fish basket was very tasty and the kids meals that we got with chicken fingers were enjoyed by the kids. Our server was great and checked on us a lot. The raw oysters were not the freshest in my opinion, and the Keylime pie was also disappointing. It mostly tasted like whipped cream with a very slight hint of Key lime flavor.
